I love your builds, and the most underrated touch is the footprint blueprint. So many other creators I have to slow it down to like .5 speed just to count out the number or tiles. With yours there's a handy reference
I used to do blueprints ages ago but I kinda hand-drew them in Photoshop and it was a pain. Having FORTIFY makes life a whole lot easier in that regard, glad you find them useful!
Just like others, I really appreciate you little Info panel at the start, with the blueprint and needed pieces. Also your showcase of some other variations of the build and the end of the videos is just amazing. There is a lot of work behind it, and we really appreciate it!
I love your design! Although I find it annoying to produce oil that way, I do use fish as food a lot. For better efficiency I would suggest to add a little room with compost heaps and maybe one or two extra fridges for grub production and storage.
@@Hakaishin_birusu That´s why I said I find that way of oilproduction annoying...It´s bark and ichor by the way. And you can use T3 and T4 alchemists. If you want to judge and lecture others you should know your facts. Cheers from a pve guy with about 2000 hours in pvp.✌
You have a great imagination and such a great way to talk thru and explain your reasons for doing what you do. It helps us to make sense of the build. Or add our own flair at the same time. Thank you so much, for all of your hard work and fantastic content.
Just for anyone that wants to build this... you can literally craft 5 oil for 1 bark and 1 ichor, while on official (4x) u can farm 4 spiders for about 1.5k ichor and ig i dont have to explain bark. Well thats 10k oil farmed in 5 minutes. U will need an alchemist 3+ for it, which shouldnt be a problem cuz oil isnt valueable for fuel anymore and only really needed for colour and master weapon fittings. By the time you did warmaker, you should already have an alchemist
Still fairly new to conan but I love builds like this more then base builds.. Still learning what all I need to farm consistently and this is one of them lol
Now we just need a grub farm to fill all those fish traps :) your builds are awesome... where wondering if u did a story on the passage (the way from the ice area to the jungle?)
@@devilsadvocate1597 If you put your base next to an area with trees and scorpions (they do exist) or spiders and trees, this is not really a problem. Really easy to obtain both bark and ichor that way - and then the tedious tasks of either harvesting seeds, or first having to catch fish (which require you to farm insects or grubs first), and then putting them in a fluid press becomes a thing of the past.
I agree with you all!... bark and resin isn't a problem even in low threat areas, a startmetal pickaxe takes care of that! ichor however is a grind, whether you go down the spider or something i've not specifically tried... scorpions! Edit: a steel pickaxe also drops resin and bark
Nice build, but it takes ages that way. The easiest way to get loads of oil is to capture a T4 alchemist (Iblis of Zingara from Sepermeru will do nicely) and let them craft oil at the alchemy bench: 1 bark and 1 ichor (easily collected from scorpions with a pick) will get you 5 oil. No more checking those pesky fish traps, harvesting insects and loading your lots of presses (you'll need several lest your fish will rot).
you can actually get the oil recipe from a t3 alchemist. you spesifically need t4 for the spice and tar recipies (though never use those as they're a waste)
Hey bro, you should try and make a building about farming seeds, if that can even be a thing lmao. Fish rn is honestly probably the absolute SLOWEST form of getting oil for really anything, i did the math recently, probably better for a solo player. But 12,000 seeds in 6 fluid presses can make you enough oil for a full set of heavy or medium armor or 155 hardened leather. Also takes about 10 mins or less to get 12k seeds when using a star metal sickle with a advanced tool kit on it. Also i think maybe you should do a build for pvp which would be a bomb factory, where the only workbenches in it would be tanning racks and improved firebowls.
You need several compost heaps with at least 1 piece of compost in them so that a stack of 50 Fat Grubs will generate from them, which will then be able to be placed in all your traps. Fish don't just generate in the traps, unfortunately.
How are you placing the chests so perfectly even? I am struggling to do that, the item moves with my character & it's always on an angle >.< Is there a button to press to snap them into grids?
I placed the ceilings first to get the pillars, then removed the pillars afterwards. They're still rooted in the ground so they'll stay perfectly in place to provide upward sockets
At first I was delighted with this building as you presented it. I tried to implement your plan in my game... Unfortunately it doesn't work. If the surface of the bottom is not level, it is impossible to build this oil plant to work as should. Finally, when I did everything, it turned out that I couldn't place Shellfish traps because it overlaps with another item - in this case the floor. When I lift the shellfish traps up, it has no contact with the water. So it's all down to luck if that building in the final dorm will work. for me it's a whole lot of time wasted.
Is there a way to have thralls farm for materials like stone and wood? Would save a load of time. I'm surprised, with all the buildings made available, there isn't a sawmill or a stone cutter. I play without mods (not a fan tbh) and can't fathom building anything beyond sandstone structures. The grind to build beyond that is too much without mods. I've dropped more than 300 hours into this game and still haven't produced enough hardened steel to build anything substantial.. which is why having thralls to performing specific commands and not just add as a cosmetic to a bench would be nice. Wonder if the devs will ever go that far.
I don't think there is currently a way to get thralls to gather resources for you, either with or without mods. You can streamline the gathering process with the Mass Cull sorcery, though if you're really struggling, there's nothing wrong with playing single player and adjusting the harvest multipliers, as long as you're having fun. You can probably also find some boosted rate PvE or PvP servers too
There is a great mod to get thralls to gather for you. They can also patrol, move items around automatically for you, train their skills and maintain a daily schedule. The mod is called thralls are alive. I'm surprised no one knows about it, it is fantastic.
That is a fairly nice looking build. That is also not what I would call an easy or efficient oil farm. What you want to do is have a non-water level large enough for at least 10 compost bins because they will auto generate grubs. It's essential to quick fish farming because you need bait. Ideally you want two compost bins per fish trap and you'll put 2 stacks of grubs in each trap. You do not want shellfish traps, only fish traps if you are focused on oil production. You will probably want more area to place fish traps than you have allowed in this build. You really don't need more than 2 presses, especially for that small build, unless you build a lot of fish traps and a lot of compost bins. You don't need the preservation boxes at all if you just want to make oil from fish. Of course it's easier and faster to get oil from alchemy...
I do this already ! However I would never build in the centre of the water as then you claim the land and no one else can use the water source in the same way ! Does anyone know if the improved fish trap works yet ? Well if you can build it I mean !
Great build, but are these even necessary? Just get a T4 alchemist and you can make 10 times the oil in a fraction of the time. Also, you don't need to put boxes on shelves, you can stack them on top of each other
i think im gonna make my oil farm look like an oil rig offshore.. i think im gonna make my dock into a fish monger/ marketplace.. place a coffer in the heart of it & call for a raid so i can save the day.. i am BatHam..
too bad oil farms aren't really worth doing these days, even as semi-passive, since the fish decay in the trap. it's better to just get an alchemist and ruin couple of spider caves (for ichor) and bark you can basically get from anywhere. do this like twice and you're in the 10s of thousands of oil.
even more so, just get some corrupted spiders and put them in an animal pen. get fat grubs from compost heap to feed said spiders and you basically have passive ichor farm (corrupted spiders have 50% chance to produce ichor whereas other spiders its only like 20% or so..)
this sh!t is broken ... like everything is this game i actually HATE being a fan, i cant wait for the day another game comes along like this but actually works. this game works like an abusive stepfather that beats us when mom is not looking but then says hear look at the candy in my Bazaar ... i have been a loyal fan BUT FCUK! i cant wait for the next game that actually works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Killing basilisks, scorpions, etc and converting Ichor and bark into oils with the alchemy bench is a faster and more efficient way of farming oil imo :) I’ve stopped using fish for oil a long time ago!
i just run an ichor farm. 5 corrupted spiders in an animal pen, 2 or 3 compost heaps with 1 compost in each to produce fat grubs and just throw the grubs into the pen (i use 3 heaps to counter the grub decay while they're in the pen being eaten). corrupted spiders have a 50% chance to produce ichor. just swap it out whenever i log in and stock up. only need to go kill stuff if i really need it asap and run out. (this also works with gold, silver, crystal, and iron using different kinds of rocknose.. you can mostly automate the gathering of all resourses needed for alchemical base)
You have pretty solid build but it's pointless to have so many fish traps you have to put food in them they don't have passive food supply and that's no longer the best way getting oil sure it's the classic way

From outside, it looks like a very cozy coastal Austronesian hut. Inside is a whole factory. Amazing build!
Fun to come back to older guides and see how we used to do things. Now I find it easier to just put seeds in the fluid press.
Nice shelving! That alone is worth a video. I enjoy when your builds or projects are workshops for specific crafters. Keep it up.
A carpenters forest workshop would be cool; incorporating all of the carpenter benches and related tables/placeables.

I like the aqualonian with the storm roof gives it an inkwash color scheme it’s nice
Get a tier4 alchemy thrall in your alchemy bench. They can make loads of oil out of bark and ichor. 5 oil per 1x bark and ichor if I remember right.
Sorry, posted this too. This is the way to go for oil!
Nicely done. Far better than anything I've built in game. Thanks for the ideas!
Luckily I have a tier 4 alchemist and oil is not a "fish problem" anymore 😁 anyway I love your builds, this one is really interesting.
BY FAR THE BEST WAY TO DO IT!!!
