I know this sounds unbelievable but listen to my story. I am a gardener. 3 years ago it was windy day and we were trimming a hedge. Our goal was to make it nice and flat again. Then suddenly my colleague slipped, he lost control over his chainsaw and cut off my ear. Nothing was left of it except for the hole of my ear. Bloodied and scared I prayed to the lord. For 2 years it seemed he did not answer and I lost hope in ever having an outer ear again. I started to doubt the word. I do not know how but about 6 months ago an earlobe had started growing! I could not believe the greatness of the creator. I was so thankful. This is not the end of my story because somehow my earlobe kept on growing and growing. It is a wonder. Richard Norby is one of the most humble and talented people I have ever met. He certainly was my favorite seminary teacher! He played basketball with us after school, interacted with us in any situation, was always positive and full of faith. So great to see his recovery and the support he has from family and everyone else! God Bless!
I’m so glad they took the time to thank thank not just our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, but the medical teams, because whether they knew it or not, they were guided. And there was no blame, just love.
Let our Savior's loving arms embrace with his everliving, everliving care. Pull towards him, not away. There is no safety outside his realm of perfect love.

I know this isn’t the main point of the video, but seeing the medical professionals in this video reminded me of something I’ve learned recently. I’m a brain injury rehab nurse, and when I first started, I was struggling a lot, and my nurse trainer told me that she gets through the hard days by remembering that it’s a privilege to serve those who are sick and at their most vulnerable, and that Jesus served others and washed their feet, so it makes her feel closer to Christ by being able to serve others in this career. I’ve never forgotten that. It’s helped me get through the hard days, and I’ve also noticed how my patients and their families cling to Christ to get them through the hard times as well. I would say that the hospital is an environment where I’ve seen people draw nearer to Christ more than most places I’ve been to in my life (besides church and the temple of course) because when you’re in a place that houses people in distress and pain, it draws them closer to the savior, and that’s one of the biggest reasons God puts us through trials in this life: So we can draw closer to Him and Jesus Christ.

My wife left me for another man not long after I had surgery October 2019. We have a little girl and stays with her. I still remember the holidays alone without them. It was the toughest time of my life. I don't know why I had to go through that. Maybe the Lord has someone else for me, but I have to say even though that was the toughest time of my life, I feel that he's healing me. I still feel alone, but I hope he has someone that will be there for me just like I was there for my family.
God bless this humble man. He is an example of what I want to become. God has blessings in abundance and those who serve him in truth will be with him in heaven forever. We must learn to take all of our struggles to the cross. Jesus has all of the answers that we need in this life and the next.
Marriage isn't about the other person being whole or perfect it's loving and sticking with them through tough times as well as good times. Too many people give up on their spouse when something like this happens. It's nice to see his wife was so supportive, he has a good family that cares about him he's very blessed.
Thanks for sharing this inspiring journey and testimony of The Savior’s love and healing. What blessings and hope we all have through His willing sacrifice for us!
"...But real Christians do not carry their religion, their religion carries them. It is not weight; it is wings. It lifts them up, it sees them over hard places, it makes the universe seem friendly, life purposeful, hope real, sacrifice worthwhile. It sets them free from fear, futility, discouragement, and sin-the great enslavers of men’s souls. You can know a real Christian, when you see him, by his buoyancy." It is almost as if Fosdick knew Richard and Pam Norby. What noble examples of faith and forgiveness and love!
Brother and Sister Norby have spent a lot of time in our prayers. My sweetheart and I consider them some of the best people we've had the privilege of sharing a chapel with here in Lehi, Utah. We only wish we knew them better than as welcome acquaintances. It's a blessing to have found this video, which caused our eyes to leak from the power of seeing actual footage and hearing their own voices explain the difficult times they faced together with faith, hope, love, and the comfort only He can give.
This video is a powerful testimony of the truth of The Savior's Atonement. It made me think in how big His love for us was insomuch that He decided to suffer all of our pain, all of our injuries, all of our worries and all the rest, only because He loved us and He wanted to know exactly how we felt, so He could help us perfectly and in the best way He could. I love my Savior and my appreciation for Him and for all He's done for us and still does, is growing day by day as I ponder all these things.
My mission president and his wife inspired me back in Côte d’Ivoire and he continues to inspire me today! What a great man and a great example of a disciple of Christ!
"Hold on Tight to him and Don't blame him." I remember Learning a Lesson about yes, Things may happen for A Purpose, but We also all have Free Agency. Trials may come to help, and have a Purpose, But we also have to Remember that Even though something bad may happen to us, whether done by a natural disasters, etc., or someone else, we Must Trust in God, though, He will guide us.
This experience of what happened and what he went through healing has touched my heart and given a big boost for me. Yes, Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have a plan. Life is part of that plan and a BIG Test for each of us. Yes, the Savior Heals Wounds. We just have to do our part.
What an inspiring story. Yes the Savior Heals all wounds and I have seen that happen in my own life recovering from my divorce. Our Heavenly Father knows and loves us.
With faith and our testimonies we can endure many things and hope to be able to "endure all things". Elder and Sister Norby's story increased my faith and testimony today. Thank you.
There's so much that seems unfair in situations like this, but Christ is the difference between pain and relief, between sorrow and joy, between hurting and healing, between grief and gladness, between sin and sainthood. He changes everything and everyone who lets Him in. He's near, never far, and His grace is sufficient to heal every single individual in every single circumstance. I like how this story shows that He's aware of us at all times :)
Thank you! I have always wondered the next part of their journey. How beautiful that he brought The grandchildren together to comfort them and bear testimony. Something I'm sure they will never forget. I wouldn't 😉
Thank you for sharing your story! Such a blessing. So thankful for the Gospel and for the Lord. In these difficult times we must look to him for strength and comfort ❤️
It has always been an issue for me when people blame God when difficult things happen. Heavenly Father is a father first and His love for us knows no bounds. I appreciate that he knew this and taught his grandchildren, something everyone needs to understand. When difficulties arise and they will, remember Him, lean on Him, trust Him. Thank you Bro Norby for sharing your experience with everyone
Thank you Brother and Sister Norby! Your faith-filled approach to this challenging experience gives hope to the rest of us that we can be survivors, not victims. That we can move forward in faith, not fear as we humbly embrace God’s will for us.
The trials I went through with my health. Each time I had to submit my will to Heavenly Father it taught me to rely on Him. Now I live with nerve deafness in my right ear. That was hard on me at first when I asked for an blessing of healing. He chose not to heal me of it but gave me Grace to endure it everyday of my life.
I don't understand why people disliked this video. But I do understand this: Endure. if you pull through your struggles and focus on God, you will be saved. God so loved the world that he sent is only begotten son to die for us. We must all do what Nephi said: we must go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for we know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them. God loves his children, and has prepared for them a place in heaven. Never forget God's love for you. We are all beloved children of God. Endure. That is my testimony of God's love for us. Amen.
"But behold, my limbs did receive their strength again, and I stood upon my feet, and did manifest unto the people that I had been born of God." (Alma 36: 23)
So happy to see that you are recovering so well and hope you are not having any PTSD following such a traumatic experience. The Lord has truly blessed you and your family.
I know they gospel is true It’s been two years since I broke my right leg And I know the Lord is with us every single day and that’s what makes Lord he is us Makes me believe that he is always with us and that’s why I believe in and if we strive to believe in Christ and that it always makes us believe in and I want to bury my testimony and I and the name of Jesus Christ amen
Someone testimony can be so much encouraging message to a precious soul for it can be anyone who need to hear it to stay strong doesn't matter what we face.
What comes to mind is what Joseph Smith said about the saints not being exempted from the effects of the calamities of the last days. This act of terrorism is a calamity of the last days. And this family stayed faithful through their testing and I’m happy their loved one recovered.
I know that my Saviour Loves 🌹🙏💖I have no doubt our heavenly father will always take care of us all God bless you all 🌹🙏💖Please bring an end to all the evil mankind does to one another 💔😥🌹

Amen.
He is a lord our God which bless those who believe in his only begotten son jesus christ the righteous ❤🙏🙏
I have learned so much today form Brother Richard Norby and his family. So happy he has recovered well. Thank you for your examples.
I know they gospel is true It’s been two years since I broke my right leg And I know the Lord is with us every single day and that’s what makes Lord he is us Makes me believe that he is always with us and that’s why I believe in and if we strive to believe in Christ and that it always makes us believe in and I want to bury my testimony and I and the name of Jesus Christ amen
sometimes our walks with God might be awkward or difficult but know that with God all things are possible
