This was difficult to watch after Hosana’s recent death, but James still managed to make me laugh through my tears with the spot-on reference to “his deluded perception of invincibility… “.

The story is poachers were patrolling the area and when anti poachers went to check it out a large male leopard attacked them and had to shoot and he was identified as Hosanna
@@ohwell94 might be evading poachers then bumping into rangers as well. So sad and tragic. He had little cubs remaining. Run on the rainbow Little Prince😭thank you for your reply.

It’s been about a year since this video was made. I would strongly suggest to Hukumari that if he encounters Hosana now, retreating gracefully would be the healthiest strategy. Hosana has grown a lot.

@@horselover7744 He was injured already with one eye and got injured again and eventually got weak and lost his territory which pushed him out towards the villages where he was killing livestock. This is common for injured predators but they kept trying to dart him to relocate him but they werent successful for some reason, so the gov. decided to destroy him. They fear them getting so bad off that they take children. Sad.
Have you seen the facebook page of these leopards? Hukumuri fought and chased away a male leopard quite bigger than him, the Tortoise Pan Male (he already had one eye injured that time), but unfortunately the Gladiator/Hukumuri passed away on January 16th last year. And Hukumuri and Hosana once had contact again, Hosana was fighting back but also submitting therefore making Hukumuri absorb more power. And IF Hukumuri were still alive he would still defeat Hosana because Hukumuri has A LOT of experience, but of course he needs to retreat if he was alive becausr he would age, and of course making Hosana younger, agile and faster. What a legend Hukumuri was.
@@patrikdator1265 it’s nothing but speculation now since Hukumari was killed a few months ago. He had been leaving the reserve and killing sheep and goats on farms.

Why would the mother of two Cubs leave them when they were only 1 year old? The mother must have been killed otherwise she would not leave them until they were like two years old at the youngest.

That's what I said too but it might make sense its his cub plus he's too young to be considered a threat and too old to be looked at as a helpless cub or easy meal and since food in the area looked plentiful the male may have been able to tolerate his presence for the time being
