Please don't let Dr. Hahn do this... Personally I like him talking to us as an old school professor. Dr. Bergsma on the other hand, his charisma is something different. It is always a treat to hear and watch him interact with us. Love both and I have come to learn so much about the Catholic Faith because of them (among other folks).
Don't make assumptions on these things, but look for it in the Catholic church teachings. This was how protestanism came out, people just had their own ideas and believed it was the true meaning but they don't really consider the author, and style in which they write it.
@@tony1685 the Bible was not put together until the end of the 3rd century, the Catholic Church started with Christ and they put the bible together. As the gospel if John tells us, not all things Christ said was written down
@@tony1685 Jesus did not leave the apostles with a bible. The gospels and letters were written long after Jesus died . The letters and gospels were originally passed around between the churches until the bishops decided to collect them together into the cannon to be used at the mass. Charlamain did not baptise anyone, he was not authorised to do so. He was a king not a priest. He himself was not baptised until his deathbed because he realised the efficacy of baptism but wanted to lead a sinful life
Dr Bergsma's responses are brilliant, as always. My only suggestion is to remove the music in the background, I found it distracting, unnecessary and unnerving. Couldn't you do without it? Thanks a lot and God bless you all.
Idolatry or bowing to statues or icons (as in Eastern 'Orthodoxy') is just a result of Roman Catholicism being a hybrid pseudoreligion (a mix of Biblical Christianity used as a cover-up/clothes and pagan cults and rituals) began by emperor Constantine I during the Council of Nicaea 325 AD! Out of 1800 Christian bishops in the Roman empire, only 250 to 318 (depending on the sources) answered the pagan emperor's call and they called it an ecumenical council, which it was surely not! So the bishops coersed by the emperor's guard accepted/adopted several contradictory to the Holy Scriptures statements concerning God's festivals' times and changing the Sabbath to Sunday (emperor Constantine I was a sungod worshipping pagan till he was baptized by an Arian (heretic according to the Nicaean Council's rules) bishop, so he essentially turned from pagan to heretic and never was a Christian from a Biblical point of view), etc. He, by doing this divorced the newly - created pseudoreligion from the Hebrew/Scriptural roots of Christianity. This describes the emperor as an anti-christ figure in the light of the Holy Scriptures, and yet he was cannozed as a saint in both off-shoots of the pseudo-Christianity!!! The Catholics even translated the Holy Scriptures in Latin and now in other languages wrongly on purpose but the oldest manuscripts found show that tampering with the Word of God! So you can call the Roman Catholic church and the Eastern Orthodox churches either a 4th century manmade pseudoreligion to replace Biblical Christianity in the Roman empire or an Apostasy church or actually both! Consider it again after reading this!
@@nyagolnyagolov7130 that is not idolatry. In the time of Jesus, there were statues. Jesus like statues. There a lot of statues of Abraham Lincoln in America, does it mean America worship Abraham Lincoln?
@@kelechukwuanozyk7605 In fact Abraham Lincoln is depicted with all attributes as Zeus the pagan father god as a statue. This is deification/worship of a human being and the same is done by the Caths with pagan deities included. For example the goddess Bridget from Ireland was made into st. Bridget in Catholic pseudoreligion and statues are made to her! And in Mexico is even worse with all pagan Aztec cults incorporated in the Catholic pseudoreligion!

Speaking in tongues is also known as "speaking in other languages", we have polyglots today, if you think that's not a gift of God, then try learning more than one language... Now for example Saint Padre Pio had some people who spoke other languages that he didn't know go to confesion with him, and he would ask his Guardian Angel to tell him what was it that they were confesing and they would both speak in their native languages yet each would hear the other speaking in the language they understood. Neither of those are the same as what you see with pentecostal evangelicals or charismatic movements in the Catholic Church
It also mentions in the garden of gestemane that Jesus took along peter and the two sons of Zebedee which were John and James. It's possible that those three could have people Jesus fav.
From Nigeria. I'm deeply Catholic, together with Mom, siblings and, of course my wife and children. I just want to ask a question concerning the last passage you just cited from Paul on all those rhetorical questions concerning the charismatic gifts, which argues that these gifts are given in different measures to individuals in the Church. Here's a question I've always pondered from early childhood each time I heard this passage at Mass and elsewhere: what does the Interpretation part refer to? That is, what is to be interpreted? Is it the speaking in tongue that is to be interpreted, the scripture readings of that particular Mass, or is it the lessons from the readings of the day? God bless you.
Hi, Uche. Thanks for your question. The Church in Her history has found it helpful to find those words applicable to the various possibilities you mentioned, but Paul's purpose was to draw attention to God being a God of order. Since people manifesting the charismatic gift of speaking in tongues during public assemblies did not directly and immediately contribute to the edification of the assembly (since no-one would be able to understand the message that was uttered), Paul called for there to be either the avoidance of tongues in public worship or at least one person with a recognized gift of interpretation of tongues, by which the message uttered in tongues could be rendered intelligible for the benefit of the community. I hope this helps. God bless you.
Uche, kedu? Speaking in tongues is a gift of the Holy spirit, just like many other gifts. It is not compulsory. Why should you be obsessed with Speaking in tongues? It is not the most important gift of the Holy spirit. People should stop faking tongues, they're a lot of fake one
@Peter Jak Hi, Peter. I'm glad you desire to be responsive to the directives of Scripture, indeed even the moral law as communicated in the Mosaic Law, as binding for Christians. This reveals important insight. It seems you have the misfortune to have received your formation in the distorted tradition of a Protestant theology, in which the first commandment is presented as if it were actually two commandments. As pinoy has suggested, this is necessarily false. Since truth is one, God cannot forbid what He Himself commands. The same God who gave Moses the Ten Commandments also gave Moses explicit commands to make the Tent of Meeting, in which was embroidered stars and angels (likeness of [things] in heaven above), the Ark of the Covenant with its Mercy Seat, again with graven images of angels, the graven image of a fiery serpent (likeness of [a thing] that is in the earth beneath), graven images of pomegranates, almonds, and so on (likeness of [things] that [are] in the earth beneath). At Moses direction, these things were graven and incorporated into the sacred precincts. It is with these graven images in place that the glory of the Lord came down and filled the tabernacle. We see this spectacle repeated with the Temple that Solomon built, with the addition that the wash basin stood on twelve graven oxen (likeness of [things] that [are] in the earth beneath), and again with all these graven images in place, the glory of the Lord again filled the Temple. From this we can conclude with absolute certainty that the production of graven images is not forbidden by the (integral) first commandment. Rather, what is forbidden is taking the worship that is due to God alone, and instead offering it to anything that is not God. Since you seem to come from a Protestant background, it is to be expected that part of your objection to statues is the honour in which they are held by Catholics, which includes the marks of respect typically identified by Protestants as idol worship, since what is honoured is stone and not God, and what is represented is a Saint and not God. Here too you suffer the misfortune of a distorted formation. The Hebrew word for the honour which is ubiquitous in the Old Testament is indistinguishable from that which indicates the worship which is due to God alone. This was not a problem in Middle Eastern culture, just as it is not a problem in Catholic culture, because the children of Israel, Old and New, know that the worship which is due to God alone is not bowing or kneeling or verbal communication which is often called prayer, but rather is that worship which is offered by making sacrifice, offered by priests dedicated to the task. This central feature of the Mosaic covenant was both an expression of making a real and meaningful sacrifice of self to God while remaining alive to continue in that commitment, and a type of both the sacrifice of the total sacrificial self-donation of Christ and its continuation in the new priesthood He consecrated at the Last Supper. This sacrifice is offered to God alone, while the honour of lesser beings, of creatures, continues to be ubiquitous among Catholics.
Thank you for this great series. I have a question. What is the language of the first written Scriptures, and the next subsequent languages, throughout the Christendom and beyod, and throughout history, until present day. I am Catholic in Indonesia, and we read Indonesian Bible now
I miss the Reflections on the Daily Readings, but I know they're in the St. Paul podcast. Anyway, this new format of videos is also relevant to answer the common questions/objections to Catholicism and Christianity in general!
I don't like the new format. the other one worked just fine for me. now all tv presenters (news and all) must stand. It's unsettling. Just sit down! I miss the daily reflections too.
I pass by our church regularly. Just in the middle of the entrance gate is a statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Behind it is the announcement board. Behind it is the baptismal font, which is at the entrance door of the Church. And further down the aisle is the altar where the tabernacle is located, which I know the Body of Jesus is placed and/or exposed at the altar almost every day for Adoration. Whenever I pass by the church gate, I may bow at the statue, but my mind is bowing at the intangible Jesus, "Hey, God! I salute you! Kumusta ka? Thanks for everything!" What's the point of becoming human with many senses when I can't use them to acknowledge God?
God says not to make them or bow to them, but we are catholics. We make and bow to images. We love our graven images. Im gonna ride my Mary statue all the way to heaven.
In memory of the last supper Do you have pictures of loved ones in memory of them God has many names we have many memories as you speak about too Always Grateful Thankful Blessed Peace of God be with you always Amen ✨️
Dr Bergsma please tell us what is the speaking of tongues? Is it known languages? Is it gibberish? Some strange nonsensical sounds considered a heavenly language? Did Archangel Gabriel speak to Mary in heavenly language? Why did Jesus not teach His disciples this Heavenly language? Did Jesus pray in gibberish?

can you explain the 3rd commandment? in exodus 20:4. does heaven mean sky? so the images shall not be of birds? if not, then why are we making images of people whom we know are in heaven? aren't we going against God's commandment? please clarify.
The transfiguration revealed Jesus' true features because it was impossible to encounter the light of God, reflected as it was on the faces of those who bathed in the Presence, and not have what is completely true remain hidden.
Sorry? Some things are hidden till this day, we're not yet seeing God eye to eye. Do you reckon Peter, James and John have seen the face of the Lord on earth and remained living? I don't see your logic
@@someman7 The amount of light that each can bear, that is what they should reflect. Moses and Elijah, one glorified by his service, and the other yet to complete his, had a light particular to each. In the presence of Christ, truth cannot conceal truth and so the Lord's glory was disclosed. Being half asleep the apostles could not fully see, even as Manoah had when he rightly became fearful of perishing. But who can see God in his jealous and Almighty name? Who even dares desire it? Do you think that even the angels can bear see it, those who cover themselves with their wings to not see?

Due to illness, I went to the emergency at a local hospital. I was on IV antibiotics and I asked the doctor... "If this doesn't work, what do I dot?" In front of all the other patients, he said very loudly, "Well you do like the others, pray and kiss the feet of a statue of the Virgin Mary! I was so humiliated, ashamed and embarrassed. I was also angry because of the fact that I always scolded Catholics who did this. I guess this doctor insulted me like this because of my Italian last name and thought I must surely partake in that pagan ritual. That's how stupid people are thought of who do these blasphemous acts. The mere sight of religious statues of any kind and size makes me cringe. I don't need to see them to remind me of my Lord and Saviour.
Too bad you went there when the LORD told Moses and the Isrealits to make cherubim on the lid of the ark of the covenant. You could have cringed and told God that's wrong for him to do that. Exodus 25:10-22
I have wondered about the Transfiguration being connected to the future and the Jewish people believing in Jesus the Messiah. It seems to correlate with the Lminous Mysteries being added after V2. And V2 after 1948. But I could be way off, just wondering.
So what does In the Name mean In Matthew 28:19 Because according To Oneness Heresy that name ("in the name") in Matthew 28:19 refers in the name of Christ in Acts 2:38. I hope may you answer this
Hi Mark! The Oneness Heresy does not hold that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are three separate Persons. Rather, it states that they are three modes. In Matthew 28:19, it is stating that we should baptize in the name of each Person of the Trinity. God Bless!
That's because satan will always try to mirror the truth with his lie. You see Jesus is the great high priest of heaven. And when a priest blesses you he uses his right hand. And the blessing is done with the index and middle fingers. So Baffin that is a idol that was made specifically to mock Catholicism, Is And Jesus Christ by extent.
I think of the burning bush and God giving the law to Moses when I consider the Transfiguration. Christ is the "New Word" which the apostles were told by God to "listen to him." The fact that Moses disappeared before the father spoke those words indicates that the Church is to give the new law WHO is to reside in the hearts. As the tablets were broken soon after the OT theophany, The new word would also be broken. But the apostles were told not to speak of it before the new covenant was fulfilled in the resurrection.
@@halleylujah247 ah okay. That makes sense. How about for relics like bones, clothing, etc.? They're preserved and sometimes shown to the public who then come to kiss these relics. Is it the same idea; the relic reminding them of a person dear to them? I've heard things like "if you touch it you'll be healed"
@@SP-ct2rj Kind of, Relics are like a connection to a person that is gone to heaven because we will be reunited with our body at the end of time as the Bible states . These are parts of Holy people that are connected with God and praying directly to him right now in heaven so we show them we honor their life and ask them to remember us while they are praising God. It is a piece of them that like a straight line directly puts our intentions in front of God. Easier to explain in person. Hope that makes sense.
S P Sadly, our Catholic friends and family members have been indoctrinated to believe that the use of statues, relics, and other articles is acceptable and even necessary for worship. They have been taught by the Roman Catholic Church that the images and icons used in the church are not actually “worshiped” but are simply “visual aids” to worship. The lack of a physical description of Christ has not stopped the Catholic Church from depicting Him. Throughout Catholic churches, institutions, convents, monasteries, and every other Catholic-affiliated building and shrine, there are paintings of God the Father, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, Mary, Joseph, and a myriad of canonized saints. There are statues in abundance; there are relics, such as bone fragments, said to have belonged to certain saints. Some shrines even contain pieces of wood purported to be part of Jesus’ cross. All of these things are held to be sacred objects worthy of high regard. The idolatry is rampant and fairly obvious to non-Catholics, yet Catholics do not believe they are committing idolatry. They have been cleverly taught to believe that they do not worship these idols; they simply “venerate” them. The problem is that “veneration” still gives honour and reverence to something and/or someone other than God; therefore, veneration is idolatry.
Amplified Bible Revelation 7 10 says TRINITY Worship in Heaven. 1 John 5 7 Three Witness in Heaven. Father Word Spirit. Three agree as One. Matthew 28 19 says and baptise them in the name of the father son holy spirit. The word name is in singular signifying One God and three persons One God
What makes the Trinity is this third divine being called God the Holy Spirit without him the Trinity doctrine would not exist; So please tell me Sir why is it No Prophet never seen him in vision🤔 (both Old and New) as well as the Angels in Heaven when reading the book of Revelation worshipping him along with the Father and the Son? I find that very strange
why would you ask a dead person to pray for you? The Bible teaches only God can hear you in the secret place, don’t deify a saint by giving him the power to hear you, that could be a form of necromancy
People say why do Catholics make statues, icons, images; and then they go on taking pictures of themselves and their friends and treasure them, they put pictures of their favorite singers or sport idols, or they buy little statues or figurines of cartoon characters or celebrities and put them carefully. If you know how to value the worthless, the people of God also know how to value the Creator, who has unveiled Himself by coming down to earth to be seen and touched and worshiped; the Word in the flesh, the Son of God Jesus Christ.
It simply shows that the Catholics are idolators as the people from the world - pagans and other pseudoreligious alike! Anyways, Catholicism is an offshoot of a hybrid manmade pseudoreligion started in the 4th century.
@@JohnR.T.B. Yepp! And tripple Yepp!!! God shows mercy to the repentant and believing in Lord Jesus Christ by following Him and showing with his/her deeds the faith that is from God!
I still believe there should be no representation of any image or form or statue to represent YaHuWaH or the MESSIAH or any of the apostles and neither should their statues be touched nor kissed nor bowed to nor knelt in front of during any worship and prayer session by any church that belongs to the MESSIAH'S believers. The BIBLE clearly states against such. Period. 😀 Grace and Peace be yours in abundance.
Just by the way. In the Bible, in both the Old and the New Testament, all Believers always pray DIRECTLY to God the Father. And in the New Testament it's always directly to God the Father, "in the name of Jesus". In fact when the disciples asked Jesus himself how to pray he said: "... your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come..." Matthew 6:8-9 And... "But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you." Matthew 6:6 And in God's Word Jesus himself intercedes for us, not his human mother. This is exactly what it says: "Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them." Hebrews 7:25 Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. Romans 8:34 And the Holy Spirit: In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; Roman 8:26 That's good enough for me. So, in conclusion, in the Bible the idea is NOT to go to the Son's human mother (or to anyone else), who then goes to the Son, who then goes to the Father with your request. No, your Heavenly Father's wish and desire is that you go DIRECTLY to Him with all your prayers and petitions. I'm not kidding. Check it out for yourself. So why go in little circles when the Father wants, and even commands, that we come directly to Him. "In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I will request of the Father on your behalf; for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came forth from the Father." John 16:26-27 It's as though I was a simple little employee in a huge giant corporation. And the President/Owner of the corporation adopted me and loved me and told (ordered) me that any time I had a problem or a request, I was to go directly to him, and he would handle it. Perfect. As for me I think I'll just stick with God's Word and go on "drawing near to God (the Father) through Him (Jesus)", being that I want to be "saved forever". I just figure God must know what he's talking about. After all, he is omniscient. "...for the Father Himself loves you" . Anything else is pure human reasoning. No thanks. Christ and his Word are sufficient. I'll end with this: "Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them." Hebrews 7:25 We are to "draw near to God through him (Christ Jesus)". The unbiblical Roman Catholic practice of praying to Mary and the "Saints" has exactly the opposite effect. It distances us from God instead of drawing us near to him in Christ Jesus. “You are experts at setting aside the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition." Mark 7:9 "The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it." John 1:5 This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him. 1 John 5:14-15 Anyhow, that's what I do. I pray directly to my Heavenly Father out of simple obedience. After all He's done for me it's the least I can do. Obey, and not invent my own religion.

I heard that it is not wise to dwell on the concept of speaking in tongues. A person should not confuse speaking in tongues with a person possessed. A person speaking an ancient language with no prior knowledge of that language. Statue is a reminder? U don't need reminders if you have put your faith that God exists... Read the Bible, God is everywhere God is with us believe it .... When u bow or pray to statue it's idolatry
If they are praying to the saint that the statue was supposedly made from then they are worshipping the statue. In the OT when anyone made a statue of a calf or something else like that and they prayed before it. Then they were worshipping something other than our Father God. When you pray to a saint you are worshipping someone other than God. This includes Mary. Prayer is always a form of worship.
People should be careful with the desire to speak in tongues because the evil spirit has entered & manipulated that gift. Let Acts2, be the guide to gifts of tongues " they spoke in other languages know to the hearers " so what is going on today in many non Catholic groups should be treated with great discernment especially when they seem to be the attention seeking thing & public display of charism, such is not of the Holy Spirit.
I saw bowing before a statue of padre PIO once. It looks shocking but when I considered that the priest bowed to the sainthood, conferred to this great modern saint by Christ through His holy church and considering that boring to someone or something if not necessarily worship, but respect, it wasn't anything that further concerned me. An action, any action, in my opinion, has to be examined in light of the intent the actor and not in the light of the intent of a detractor.
"The best theologians are Catholic theologians who used to be (catholic-bashing) Protestant theologians." ~ B. Julian Kohl. They were ALL protestants once.
I agree that they are outstanding theologians, but just to be clear, let’s not discount the cradle Catholic theologians. There are a lot of highly intellectual cradle Catholic theologians that you could consider as among the best; it’s just that most of them are not well-known. But like I said, they’re outstanding and God bless them.
@@freda7961 That's true. But you said it yourself. They're not well known. There's a lot to be said for that itself. But I think Kohl's point is that those guys possess an angle of experience a cradle Catholic does not possess. Nobody can argue that Fr. Chad Alec Ripperger is "one of the best" (if not the very best), but even HE claims, "there are no great theologians anymore", which I would have to differ, a little anyway. @Oliveoilpoop They are charlatans. Reading into the bible something that is not there to protect the traditions of the catholic church. God wants everybody to be saved and wouldn't hide the truth in between the lines of scripture, so that men like these can come and "reveal" a different gospel. Their "truths" crumble against the bible
Non biblical language in the church....all the fuss. Faith is a living force and the Holy Spirit keeps it in check. Transfiguration prepares us for the transcendent reality of the heaven dimension where Moses and Elijah already ARE in the "there" sense...Jesus will join them and His Mother later.
Jesus and his mother are together, they are not separate. You have no evidence for saying that. Jesus didn't write any book or Bible. The Bible you worship is a document of the Catholic Church
@@beantrader4723 lol you actually think God created Protestantism instead? If sola scriptura is real, then sacred scripture would have a a list of cannon for the bible. As to your reactions of the faith: God never said to not make images. He commands Moses to carve the cherubims. You are right that God commands us not to use idols, which we don't. Our images are not idols. We do not worship them or think they are divine. You are thinking of Hinduism. The only thing we are allowed to worship is the one Triune God. Praying can be a form of worship, but it is not necessarily a form of worship. When we pray to the saints we do not worship them. God gave the keys of binding and loosing to Peter. This is how we know the saints are in heaven. We do not know of all humans that ended up in heaven, but the ones we do know of are guaranteed to be true because of the deposit of faith and the process of canonisation. I would advise you to look that up.
Hi Dr John. Your explanation for kneeling before statues doesnt make sense to me. The person representative of that statue is not holy and they can not pray for us as is your explanation. God’s first commandment is clear about making images and bowing down to them. Jesus is our only advocate John 14:6. How can you attempt to make an argument that those who kneel before a statue - facing that statue are not praying to that statue? If one is kneeling in front of and praying, they are in sin as per the first commandment. The Apostles did not take worship from people as we read in acts 10:26. Therefore, your explanation is error. Please show your evidence on the right of anyone other than Christ to “pray” to the father on our behalf? Believing that actually waters down who Christ is because you are bestowing upon “others” the burden of carrying our sins to The Father. Please follow up with a response of your evidence.
Greetings alldadsunited! - just because it doesnt makes sense to you does not mean its not true. The Trinity doesnt ,make sense to my JW mother but it is certainly true as i assume you believe it to be so as you did not dispute the explanation in the video. Mary is not dead as Dr John says and Luke 1:48 hints to this. Also Heb 12:1 refers to ALL those who are “not dead”, those holy ones, the “crowd of witnesses we are surrounded by”. So if we can ask those around us here on earth to pray for us, how much more can we, should we, ask those in heaven, the crowd of witnesses, to pray for us? His explanation is not what is in error, your lack of understanding, as you have rightly pointed out in your opening sentence is. Peace!!!

“Why do Catholics bow to statues?” For the same reason a man kneels before a woman when he proposes marriage. It’s an act of devotion. For the same reason we invest so strict a ceremony for the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. It’s an act of reverence. For crying out loud. Do you really believe God deserves less? Oof.
Praying before statues of saints is very good. As you look at the statues and pray, you are drawn into the transcendent reality it signifies. There is a connection between you and the saints at that moment because the statues represents the saint
Yes. Souls that are already in hell can no longer be saved. That's why we need to pray for one another, for the living, and for all the souls in purgatory.
@@aci. There is no purgatory, no second chance read the Holy Scriptures: Once you live and die and then comes the Judgement of God and you are assigned either to hell (the underground world) if have not repented of your sins and believed in Lord Jesus Christ and follow Him, or to rule with Christ in the Kingdom of God in Heaven that will come on the Earth soon if you did repent of your sins and believed in Lord Jesus Christ and follow Him! Sir you are very ignorant of what the Bible teaches about what happens after death because you said the Saints are not dead but in Heaven, So that means Jesus didn’t really die on the cross for our sins
what he means is they are alive in the mystical body of Christ. Physical death does not mean spiritual death. They are alive in spirit so when we pray it's through our HOLY Spirit that connects us with other spiritual saints in heaven within the mystical body of Jesus Christ.

@Peter Jak LOL....
"(2 Chronicles 3:10)
In the Most Holy Place he made two cherubim of sculptured work, and he overlaid them with gold."🙄
@Peter Jak Also, the bronze serpent from Exodus. Also a graven image? 😆😆
@Peter Jak Hi, Peter.

Kumusta ka? Thanks for everything!"
What's the point of becoming human with many senses when I can't use them to acknowledge God?

The transfiguration revealed Jesus' true features because it was impossible to encounter the light of God, reflected as it was on the faces of those who bathed in the Presence, and not have what is completely true remain hidden.

Nobody is praying TO an idol.
Thank you for this great insight

Can you please not have the distraction of that music, it's frustrating and obnoxious

Grace and Peace be yours in abundance.
Just by the way.
In the Bible, in both the Old and the New Testament, all Believers always pray DIRECTLY to God the Father. And in the New Testament it's always directly to God the Father, "in the name of Jesus". In fact when the disciples asked Jesus himself how to pray he said:
"... your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come..."
Matthew 6:8-9
And...
"But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you."
Matthew 6:6
And in God's Word Jesus himself intercedes for us, not his human mother. This is exactly what it says:
"Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them."
Hebrews 7:25
Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.
Romans 8:34
And the Holy Spirit:
In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words;
Roman 8:26
That's good enough for me.
"In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I will request of the Father on your behalf; for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came forth from the Father."
John 16:26-27
It's as though I was a simple little employee in a huge giant corporation.
I'll end with this:
"Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them."
Hebrews 7:25
We are to "draw near to God through him (Christ Jesus)". The unbiblical Roman Catholic practice of praying to Mary and the "Saints" has exactly the opposite effect. It distances us from God instead of drawing us near to him in Christ Jesus.
“You are experts at setting aside the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition."
Mark 7:9
"The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it."
John 1:5
This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.
1 John 5:14-15
Anyhow, that's what I do.

A person, like those who practice the occult, who obsess with speaking in tongues can open up doors to the demonic, and the demons can operate through that person. I would not be concerned with gifts that were not bestowed on us.
Yup, speaking in tongues isn't something to take casually. Usually pentecostals urge people so much to get the 'gift', but that is dangerous
➔ The entire foundation of Protestantism is false:...
➔The Bible ITSELF Contradicts Luther's doctrine of "scripture alone" (solascriptura) The Bible tells us that the authority is THE CHURCH: ...
● 1 TIMOTHY 3:15 The pillar & foundation of TRUTH is the CHURCH.
● 2 TIMOTHY 2 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that thou hast HEARD from me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
● EPHESIANS 3:10 10 His intent was that now, THROUGH THE CHURCH, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms,
● JOHN 21:25 Jesus said & did Many other things that are too numerous to be recorded in writing.
● 2 THESS 2:15 We are to hold fast to the TRADITIONS we have been given, either by WORD OF MOUTH or by the letter.
● 1 COR 11:2 I commend you because you remember me in everything, and maintain the TRADITIONS even as I have delivered them to you.
● HEB 13:17 Obey the eldars in the CHURCH.
● COR 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
● HEBREWS 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
2 COR 5:20 says that God appointed men in the Church to represent Him. And, in HEB 13:17, God appointed men in the Church to have the rule over His Flock.
● JOHN 13:20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
● MATT 18:15-17
15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto THE CHURCH: but IF HE NEGLECTS TO HEARTHE CHURCH let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.
The True Church is a TEACHING Church: (to Teach means to impart knowledge that is not presently know....not in writing)
● JOHN 14:26-31
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall TEACH you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have SAID unto you. (Spoken words...not in writing)
(To TEACH is to impart knowledge that is not presently known....not in writing)
● ACTS 8:31: And he said, HOW CAN I, (understand scripture) EXCEPT SOMEONE SHOULD GUIDE ME? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
(The scriptures are not for individual interpretation. They need the guidance of the CHURCH. It is PROTESTANTS who are following the doctrines of a man.)
Why the catholic removed from the 10 commandments the 2nd commandments. Who is the son of God in Genesis 6:4 ? Thank you
They didn’t. That’s just a lie Protestants circulate.

You're a doctor of what
He's a Theologian so he probably has a doctor degree in theology
And, Roman Catholics do indeed worship statues. I live in a Roman Catholic country. Believe me.
"The best theologians are Catholic theologians who used to be (catholic-bashing) Protestant theologians."
~ B. Julian Kohl.
IE: Dr. David Anders; Dr. Robert Tilley; Dr. Scott Hahn; Dr. Taylor Marshall; Dr. John Bergsma.
Kohl is spot on. That's next to impossible to argue with that kind of lineup. They were ALL protestants once.
I agree that they are outstanding theologians, but just to
be clear, let’s not discount the cradle Catholic theologians. There are a lot of highly intellectual cradle Catholic theologians that you could consider as among the best; it’s just that most of them are not well-known. But like I said, they’re outstanding and God bless them.
@@freda7961
That's true.
Thank you for your reply Fred A.
Tim Staples shold be on the list as well

I guess he could be. I'm not sure if he has a Ph.D in anything. Could be
why Kohl omitted him from his list.
Because their brainwashed
but isnt it customary to bow to the pope when meeting him?
I have been given the gift of the Holy Spirit to deliver the book of truth from God.
No you haven't.
@@beantrader4723, uh, did you even read what the OP wrote?
Ask yourself. Will Jesus perform what you said? Your answer is so unbiblical.
catholics and their graven images. im gonna ride my mary statue all the way to heaven.
Peace!!!
Wait a minute, the person represented by the statue is not holy? And how do you know that?
If i pray in front o a tree, im i worshiping the tree? Prople with prayer hands up in front of a Christian band, are they worshiping the band?
I suggest you read actual history instead of pseudohistory.
@@tryingnottobeasmartass757 This is the factual/actual history I am presenting! Start thinking critically and do not forget that the history is written by the momentuous victors!
What you refer as an actual history is an actual propaganda of the agenda imposed by the rulers of this world! The same that mocked at Lord Jesus the Christ while he was hanging on a tree as predicted by the Holy Bible for the redemption of mankind's sin! Isn't it true that the Catholic version is mistranslated? Check against the older manuscripts how they corrupted the text to fit their new pseudo-religious beliefs imposed by the pagan emperor!
Do not be a smartass, be a smart person!
It is a distraction from the Word of God that you are supposed to meditate on day and night!
