I enjoy watching the ‘craft workers ‘ who are so talented to bring the chateau back to its former glory . Amaury is the backbone of the team yet so understated , he doesn’t want to flaunt himself all the time , he just gets on with what needs to be achieved.
Yes he is a true artesian!
Stephanie, take care of yourself. You may have mild heat stroke from that attic. Hydrate well.
I love the hedges trimmed. Seeing the peachicks well and happy is a blessing.
Amaury, I know you will make those old panels look new again.
I enjoyed the newspaper clip and pics of your mom and dad.❤
Ladies, you all look lovely today.❤
Was thinking the same thing
I’m stunned by the details behind the chapel’s walls designs. That gold leaf process is just amazing. What a glorious chapel it’s going to be.
Someone on x said we've a duty to create beautiful things recently. Achievement unlocked.
When Stephanie mentioned candlelight dinner, all I could think of was Hyacinth. Lol 😂
Boo-Kay not Buck-et 😂😂
Mind the lorry, Richard!
@@cindygarrison6338 ROTFL
@@Rosarium2007 how about the Vicar always trying to avoid her! Lol
Boo Kay 😂😂😂
As an artist and gold leafer I have SO enjoyed the progress made. I would like to suggest (though a monumentous project) to create video on only the Chapel restorations, once complete. The magnificence of the artisans is beyond measure and surely hope your wedding will be the crowning glory once complete.
Fantastic idea!!!!
Yes, Narrated by Mummy and available for guests via wi-fi to have walking tour, also as a stand alone video of the chapel. Isabelle would narrate in English and French.
The chapel really takes my breath away! The restorers are amazing! Feel better Stephanie!
Having only seen it at it's worst, I never imagined that it ever looked this good! If someone were to have seen its best & then seen its gradual fall, without pictures, I imagine it would be hard to remember that it was this magnificent!
Dang! Mummy was a stunner!
indeed - still is...
The Chapel Restorers are so FAST!!
Aumaury already looks exhausted! 😆
Isabelle possessed such a delicate beauty on her wedding day. The article by Sam Leith was quite hilarious. I hope you feel much better, Steph!
Yes Isabel is beautiful…..I noticed just from the side of her dads face in that same wedding photo, that Stephanie looks like him…..
Where is she? Have I missed something
Isabelle and Percy are in the UK for an eye appointment and other business, Stephanie said.
Stephanie, did you mention a while back that you’ve been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis? If so, the shivery feeling you get that makes you feel as if you’re coming down with flu is a symptom of rheumatoid arthritis. RA is an autoimmune disease, and it comes with a lot more symptoms than painful joints. Dry skin, flu like symptoms with no actual fever. Picking up bugs and germs at the drop of a hat, fatigue. I’ve battled this for the last 20 years and it still surprises me that there’s more to it than you first think. Really feel for you, if it is RA. It’s your channel, and the rest of the chateau channels that bring me joy and distract me from ‘the thing’ as I call it. Hope I haven’t depressed you. Watch Chateau Diaries if you feel a bit down, like I do. ❤❤❤❤
Definetly something not quite right. I feel like once a month she’s not well.
I thought the same. It looks like a flair up from RA, with the joints getting inflamed. My father was diagnosed with it too. Although he was a master at disguising his pain and hardly ever complained.
I have been doing quite a bit of reading about this. Apparently it is a lack of Vitamin D and K
@@justoneacre7873that doesn’t cause RA it’s a result of it that your vitamin D can be lower but my mum has had RA for 11 years and her vitamin D is fine
Have a look at The Glucose Revolution (Jessie Inchauspé) as it might help you both & is fairly easily incorporated into regular eating habits ❤💜❤️
You need to do a party for these artisans who have done exemplary work on the Chapel Stephanie,. It's a beautiful Jewel box of vibrant colours . 🎉🎉🎉
Marie - your hair looked so pretty when you went out to lunch.
We haven't seen much of Amaury this year - it will be so interesting to see him working in his element again!
Stephanie the beam would look amazing left exposed. It would show the history of the room, and resolved any issues with nor being square.
I word searched the comments, I knew someone else would suggest this !
I love to see Marie pretty up in a natural way and going out for some much deserved relax and enjoy time !
Colors really suit her, love the Carnelian reds on her!!! A print with turquoise mixed with an earthy orange would enhance her complexion and hair. Oh.... and I see her in rich emerald greens and golds, she would be so fun to shop with!!!
Wishing you a full and speedy recovery!!
The chapel restorers are total masters at their work.
Get well, Stephanie. Rest.😊❤
Why not just leave the beam exposed and give it a transparent white wash. So you can still see the character but it blends with the design better
Or stain it the same colour as the paneling
100% expose those beautiful wood 🪵 beams ❤in the room Amury is working in . The natural wood 🪵 color is gorgeous
I was thinking he could maybe make the beam more in line with the window, since Amury is so skilled, he can make the adjustments look original with his hand chisels & other tools!
Personally I couldn't walk in the room, & not start pulling out all of the nails & staples someone stuck in that beautiful beam! (Like when Billy bought the convent & first thing, HAD to get rid of the bush/tree that had gotten out of control! I felt the same way about it) ❤❤❤
The chapel restoration work is simply stunning and extraordinary!
When the video started I thought Marie had cut her hair to shoulder length. It was so darling.
When the chapel is complete it would be fitting to invite a local Priest to hold a Blessing service.
Oh no! Feel better quickly. Lots of fluids on these hot days.
Hope you feel better soon Stephanie. What a great boyfriend Philip is. The Chapel is looking incredible! and I can't wait to see how Amaury works his magic with that paneling. Your Father was a very handsome man! And of course mummy was (and still is) gorgeous.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who had to suffer a pudding bowl haircut as a child 🤣😂.
Oh Stephanie, that baby picture of you!!! 🫠❤
Amaury must be both happy and cautious tackling the oak panelling. Happy in the workshop. Cautious about the need to remake the panels. But we know his skill is deep and persistence his backup.
Hoping you are not going to be seriously unwell Stephanie. Ademain.
I CANNOT wait for the before and after video of the chapel once it’s done!
It warms the cockles of my heart to see what a happy dog Lancelot is. You're all such good parents!
We love to watch him also. He’s interesting, entertaining and inspirational. And although I’m in my 6th decade he’s easy on the eyes too!😂 But seriously though the show has definitely inspired work in our own home. All of my husband’s grandparents came to the States from France having English as their second language with their first language being French. My family roots are surprisingly only British and a bit of Scandinavian even though we have been in the States since the 1700s… Our unusual family histories and our love of history, antiques and diy make us feel as if we could fit right in at Chateau de Lalande!! 😊 It’s always a joy to see such beautiful historical places come back to life!! Love and thanks to you all!!!💜🩷💙💛
I love to see Amaury in the process of doing a project he reminds me of a dear family friend..
Marie, you had a Lady Di moment in your see-through dress 😮
Loved the little honk that Sif gave. Watch it, Lancelot, don't get too close to my babies!
A building that is Hundreds of years old will never be level. That’s surely part of its charm. Go with it Amaury. 😅
You should consider getting the map scanned for the local archives. And what to do with your own archives, to make sure that it's well preserved for the future
I can't believe that in 10 days we will be there!!!!!! I can't wait to stay in the chateau 🥰🥰🥰
Anything over300 years old is guaranteed never to be square, just eyeball it! Amaury, It’s not worth stressing over something that is already cast in stone. Besides, it will keep your skills sharp in adapting to the structure you have to work around.
Is the rendering on the front of chateau going to be done at some point..
@@Sally237-s4wPlans for the order of works was mentioned quite recently, including that.
The chapel is breathtaking, the details are amazing. Clearing is such a good feeling, it just feels right. Marie looked so lovely for her lunch date. I know Amaury will do an amazing job with the paneling. It’s going to be a beautiful room. Stephanie I hope you feel better. Rest and be well. I know Philip will take good care of you.
I like wonky walls. They have soul. We used a laser to fit our clock. It was level and yet looked wonky. So we made it wonky so it would look level 😂
My goodness! Such delicate, intricate work in the Chapel! Such patience!
I knew you were getting sick Steph, I could hear it when you were talking with us. Hopes for speedy recovery My Dear.
Hope you feel better Stephanie. The chapel is stunning! ❤ Your mom looked gorgeous on her wedding day!
Stephanie, please take good care of yourself. Please don't let your body get run down with so much needing to get done. Remember to sleep and take often sit downs. The big C word is having a hay day in the good old USA. It's getting around. Please, please take care of your health. I am LOVING your videos. I'm almost bedbound with my illness. And you and the gang give me so much hope to carry on. I'm a retired nurse. I got this autoimmune disease from not resting and over working. I care for your health. Rest well my friend.
Oh Dear Stephanie....everything has caught up with you...body says STOP! Your eyes in the photo of you as a little one are just stunning...and you never lost their beauty....it's the one thing in a person that never changes I think....The colour in the chapel is just so powerful! Rest up. Sandi x
@@sandicarpenter2658 there is a way to seek out previous comments. 😉❤️
So sorry you're not feeling well. Hope the heat in the attic didn't get to you. Perhaps the attic clearing out would be best done early in the day before the heat builds in. Rest and feel better. While watching the chapel update was suddenly struck by how utterly stunning it is going to be when finished. Wanted to be able to just sit down in the middle of the chapel floor with time to savor it all. Brilliant craftsmanship. Love the bedroom Amaury is working on. Is that going to be for staff or guests? Good to see the pea chicks with their mom. How is the clutch of eggs in the field doing? Best to all the Lalande family and gentle scritches to Lancelot and Ruby.
Marie is glowing for her lunch outing. Her hair is gorgeous!
Candle lit supper? HYACINTH!
What a big work they have done in the past and do now the painters in that chapel.
I love watching Lancelot running so happily on his walks. He is such a lucky little dog living the dream!! I still cant believe I get to see you all, the chapel and Lancelot in person this fall! Its me living my dream!🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
On these stiflingly hot days, take what you can from the attic and sort it elsewhere, where it's cooler!
This chapel is progressing so fast now. So exciting. Thank you for all your hard work bringing so many like minded people together on this huge project ! Well done all!!!
The Chapel is glorious! Such wonderful put together of colours to inspire and wake the mind up! ❤💜💙💚💛🩷🧡Hope you get well soon, Stephanie! Might be an effect of the intense heat in the attic.
And the very old dust inhaled I'm thinking.
Feel better soon!
It is so lovely to see Sebastian in the vlogs still he is such a handsome man 😍
Hello Ms.Stephanie! I hope you’re doing well. Has Mr. Sam Leith visited the château since that article? I hope you’ll be able to invite him again one of these days for some catching up with friends.😊
its just so wonderful to see the chapel becoming so beautiful!! such talented restorers.
Take care Stephanie. Your schedule and responsibilities are pretty hectic never mind with the addition of all these videos and the editing thereof. I’m so glad that you have Phillip to assist and take care of you.❤️
Hi All, there is a history of re-using old panelling etc in country houses, it has it own charm and interest. I would not worry too much but just enjoy the history that you are saving. At the end of the day, it is going to be fabulous because Amaury is on the job!
Excited to see Amaury starting on the room. It will be beautiful when its done.
Sending well wishes, take care. 🦋
Feel better soon! No fun being sick 😭😭
Lovely chapel. A real treasure.
Now...I just need to tell you we painted and entire bedroom pesto bismal pink and it was wonderful as it was our young daughter's bedroom. Because it had 1950's tile floor, we painted that white then I bought small paint brushed and paint pots of primary colors and I let our daughters drizzle paint over the white painted floor My husband then sealed the floor so that it had a soft yellow color over all the different colors the girls had drizzled. It was great fun and I know you have no plans to do anything like that but there is definitely a place for pespto bismal colored paint. Just thought I'd share.
Honestly I surprised it only 250, I honestly thought it was upwards of 500 or more. Amazing work all of the restorers have done. What amazing group of artists.
With the structural repairs (French drain has to be put in yet), the total is more than 500k.
@@carolinegooder7091 I was referring to the number of motifs.
The French drain is expensive but so necessary.❤️
@@melissacoelho8413Now I understand. 😂
The childhood picture of you are to adorable!
Made me smile!
You look so much like your beautiful mother!
❤
You just had so many people there it wouldn’t surprise me if you didn’t catch something. I hope you’re feeling better especially after your special soup.
The old plan of the estate that you found in the attic looked as though it had been moldy in the past. You said you were taking it down to your room until it can go to be restored. Please can you find a container you can store it in so there is no chance of breathing in anything off it while you sleep.
Yeah, _that_ might actually be why she feels punk - nothing like an overload of mold in a hot area of the chateau to overwhelm a person's immune system.
I was thinking it could be a heat related sickness, but you sounded stuffy before you started to feel ill...hope you sleep well tonight! Take time for yourself to fully get better! 🤗
Wow that wedding photo - you look so much like your mother!
Stunning. Hope you feel better soon , Stephanie.
The chapel is turning into a jewel in the countryside 💕
Twirly bird Sir Prancelot 😂😂😂 I love him 🐾🐾🤎 wow Stephanie that map HOW remarkable is that to have 👍💞
The Chapel is a dream come true I would love to paint 250 fine black lines😊❤ a dream job painting the chapel. This chapel of St. Joseph is a precious jewel an piece of living art. ❤
I appreciate the absolute perfection in their artwork, attention to gorgeous detail. Thank you for the close ups.
Feel better Stephanie. The chapel looks magical.
Maria you looked beautiful for your lunch outing. 😊
May want to check for COVID. The titers go up in the summer when people are out and about in groups. There are specific meds for COVID I hope it is just a cold. Either way, I wish you well!
Ivermectin is the best
@@evelyndunham5135So glad we have effective treatments. I am curious which drug they use most in France.
As you work on clearing things out of the attic area, if it’s too hot, you can take boxes out with papers to a cooler place and review them.
Prayers you are feeling better Stephanie 🙏❤️
My two adult sons liked the term bridging snack, I think it will be adopted in this house! Get well soon, Stephanie.
The French seem to have eaten like hobbits, I'm sure there was second breakfast in there somewhere 😄
@@LaReynedEpee As a French who loves the lovely Hobbit lifestyle, I'm delighted to read that haha 😂
Enjoyed from Texas! Get well soon!
A,Stephanie, your Mum looked lovely on her wedding day . I'm sorry, but I did have to laugh at your basin haircut as a child. 😃 I had to suffer it too! You do look sweet though, beautiful eyes. Love watching Chateau Diaries makes my day. Look forward to everything that goes on. X❤ x
Get well soon!
Maybe you're going for an evening walk but clearly Lancelot is going for an evening bounce.
I can't get over the bright colours of the chapel; amazing decor that they chose back then. Feel better, xo
I do hope that you are feeling better soon. We just finished with the dreaded C disease in our home, all well though, nothing unlike the flu here. Loved seeing all of the colorful progress that has been made in the chapel though! Rest up, and feel better.
Stephanie should also stop the alcohol completely due to her diagnosis.
My 1970s school girl French is improving….love hearing it ..
gardens starting to take shape.
lol I said that door looked pepto while you were painting it 😊. Marie looks gorgeous today.
The chapel is looking spectacular. I can’t wait to see it all complete. It will be a French national treasure.
I hope you feel better!
Get well soon Stephanie !
❤❤
Maybe to much heat Stephanie. Amaury really is the bomb. Loved seeing the tremendous work in the chapel. The team are wonderful. Everybody looks nice and relaxed.
Oooh, so sorry, Stephanie, that you don't feel well. Rest and recuperate and get well soon. Reallly enjoyed today's video. 🤍
That is some amazingly stunning chapel you have there!
I hope you're feeling better tomorrow, I find the heat will do that to me sometimes. The Chapel just keeps getting better and better, it's a little bit like advent, each day a new surprise until the grand reveal! I can hardly wait!
Please, don't cut into the window. It's not new construction, so keeping the character of the chateau is essential .... You are beautiful as always !! ❤❤❤
Once again, a fantastic video. Love seeing Lancelot bouncing around
The chapel is beautiful! Take care Stef!❤
Get well Stef.
