  • We decided for our main holiday this year to go to the Outer Hebrides!
Our epic adventure sees us going from the Midlands to Ullapool, then to Stornoway in Lewis, then Harris, North Uist, Benbecula, South Uist, Barra, Eriskay and Vatersay. We come home via Skye and Fort William.
In this fourth episode, see us travel around Barra and Vatersay and explore with amazing scenery and beaches.
We were really lucky to see a small scheduled aircraft land at Barra airport - which is special because the runway is the beach!
This is the final episode where we are in the Outer Hebrides, as from here we travel onwards to Skye and Fort William.
We wanted to make sure there is campervan specific content in these, so you'll see campsites, hear of our woes(!) and our great times.

This brought back a lot of memories from our trip in 2018. Stayed on some of the same sites. We travelled in April through to May and had better luck with the weather and no midges.

I’ve only just found your channel and have just watched these four back-to-back. You two are brilliant, I love your style and your vlogs, they’re really well presented and put together. I’d love to see how you set your van up for the night, for sleeping in the roof or downstairs, where you put everything etc. Thanks and keep the story coming.

Thank you, that’s really kind. Yes we’re planning on doing a bedding / sleeping video soon as we do get asked about that quite a lot.

Hello - nice video. The five hour ferry from Castlebay to Obay, was smooth, barely a ripple . Blue skies and sunshine - like a cruise. This was about three weeks ago. Saves retracing your steps and saves quite of lot driving and fuel, as you have to drive south again on the mainland. We were lucky, I guess.

Hi guys I have just ordered a brand new t6.1 high line 150 dsg swamper camper van ,your video on your issues with the oil level increasing and the dpf regeneration ,I've got to say it did worry me ,so much so I popped in to my local volkswagan dealer and played the salesman your video. He had heard of a few vans that had done this but was saying it was driver error .I don't buy this for one moment. Volkswagan really need to take ownership of this issue and resolve it pronto.. by the way love the videos 💖

Thank you re our videos, much appreciated. I have some more info to share on the oil level warning too, after discussing with a VW master tech and doing more testing myself also. I’m not saying my video is wrong, but there is also some other info now too. Hopefully going to get that video done over the next few days or so.

I've watched your 4 parts of this video several times and really enjoyed them - thanks! I'm now planning pretty much the same trip in May 2024 and had a couple of questions if I may..... 1 - which month did you go please? 2 - you mentioned at the end of this video that you'd spend a little more time in Harris and Barra, but how long was your trip to the OH? I'm trying to work out just how many days we need to do it properly as these types of YT films make it hard to really tell how you spend your time.
Appreciate any more insight you could share please. Thanks again.

Hi! We went in September and took two weeks to do it, but that also included getting up to Scotland and coming back down (so 1 night each way). We basically wanted to have 2 or more nights at each campsite if we could, as we wanted a full day in each place to explore. This worked out well and there wasn't much that we didn't / couldn't do. Harris and Barra were our favourites and that's why we'd want to spend a bit more time there, but no other reason really.

@@CampervanTime I assumed you were trying to squeeze it into a 2 week break - appreciate the info! We are going next May but can hopefully take 3 weeks for a slightly more leisurely drive up/down as well. Hope your new van arrives soon!

Hi, we are just about to take delivery of our first van and have found your videos really useful. There are clearly many important things to consider when setting up. One of the most important to us (slightly tongue in cheek!) is lighting and in particular the colourful lights you have in your van. Would you mind telling us what they are and where you got them from? Thanks

Hi! Congratulations! They are cotton ball lights from - cableandcotton.com - plugged in using USB on the end of the kitchen. Sarah even did a video on them too! th-cam.com/video/i3VRfaFRCx0/w-d-xo.html

I think it’s 150kg officially, but Sarah and I are more than that combined and never had an issue 👍
