Just cooked in my remoska normally use it in our caravan... just checked our smart metre cost approx between 12p - 14p per hour. How good is that and we have the grande remoska. Happy cooking guys 👍🏻

Thanks for the demo - it looks like a great bit of kit if you have the space...well done for finding somewhere to store it in a T5! Loved the way everything went in, in the end!

Susie Southall we have stored ours in a large supermarket bag, on the drivers dashboard when we are parked up. When travelling it just goes on the floor in the back.
I can’t believe how much stuff we have in our t5 right now but it’s all getting used! :)

It is a great bit of kit. I have one at home and have given up using my main oven. Roasts up a chicken in about two thirds of the time (if you untruss the chicken. Of course it spreads out some, but it is superb.

Looks good. What you can do is do the roast first - then wrap in tin foil, it will allow to rest as always a trick with any joint of meat and stay warm that will give you more room in the Remoska. I would be interested if you could get the roasties really crispy if it had space or the 180 max temperature would not be enough. Oooo just seen you can supposedly do sticky toffee pud in one of these !!!

Wow. So hard to get a VW campervan with oven. This is 100% solution. So glad I found your Video.

Spend some money on a good knife set and let your meat rest for a good while before carving.

Remoska rules! You can see in the Polish version of this equipment. Well known for a long time in Poland. Look for "prumel" products under the name "prodiż" or "prodiz". Polish version does not have Teflon, but I cook in GN dishes or bowls, the same way as you, to avoid of the contact with raw aluminium. Vegetable acids dissolve aluminum and it is probably responsible for various diseases. Bon Appetit!

I'd have liked a comment on the use of tin foil and plastic containers to cook the ingredients separately. Heated plastic melts! and it is full of toxins. I'm researching before purchase.

When did they change the lid to being see through? I love my remoska. It makes a good secondary oven for Xmas day.

They sell both versions right now. The 50's original was windowless, they added the window afterwards, then removed it again since some people complained about the heat loss through it, and most recently they added it again because *other* people missed the ability to check on the dish without having to lift the heater. I prefer the window, in my experience the heat loss is no big deal.

Why didn't you put he chicken out of tin foil with the potatoes to roast altogether so then they would crisp up ,plastic container would more likely melt in the heat and toxic released from that too

Thank you for this, I was interested to see how you managed the hot lid while serving out with limited space, I am nervous of burning myself which is putting me off getting one of these for our camper. Any thoughts?

I put the hot lid upside and outside when we’ve finished cooking (providing it’s not wet!)

Please be careful that the cable does not touch the hot lid! You will melt the cable!

What was the container made of that had the cauliflower cheese? It looked like plastic but I guess it wasn’t 😁

How much would it cost to run for that meal? Seems like an amazing product but worried it’s too good to be true 🙈

It's 580W, a fraction of what an oven would consume over that time period. The Remoska is a proven design, it was designed in the 50's and several generations of Czechs have learned to love it. I actually prefer mine over the oven for most uses, it keeps meat juicy and it's really easy to clean. It's also borderline impossible to burn anything in it. It can bake actual cakes, pies, pizza, even fries. The only downside I can see for British users is that Lakeland overcharges you quite steeply for it (the large one sells for less than £90 in Czech Rep.)
