A simply beautiful crochet baby blanket pattern with border My favorite CROCHET PATTERN

- In today's step by step crochet tutorial I will show you how to crochet this absolutely beautiful crochet baby blanket with delicate border. This crochet baby blanket, shawl or afghan is perfect for for baby boys and girls and is made with easy 3D shell stitch pattern. To make this crochet baby blanket with crochet border I used approx. 700g of Big Twist Soft #4 yarn with a 5.5mm hook. The finished size of my baby blanket is approx. 35in x 35in including the border which measures about 3in. You can make your baby blanket smaller or bigger with any type of yarn and any hook size. The stitch multiple to this easy 3D shell crochet stitch pattern is 6+1.

I made this in a royal blue and white for a baby boy it is gorgeous but I cannot figure out how to post a picture in these comments. I think I will add bow ties to the corners instead of ribbon since it is for a boy. Thank you for posting this pattern it was really a joy to make.

I want to make this baby blanket but I only got James Brett double knitting what size crochet hook shall I use because they don't have it on the yarn thanks.

To do this border do you need an even number or odd number of stitches not counting the four in the corners to come out accurately.
It doesn’t matter. If you watch the video, I mentioned that the important thing is to have the same number of stitches on the sides and on the top and bottom part. The next important thing is the number of stitches on the corners need to be the same.

I struggle with counting chains , do you use a fabric measuring tape?
Yes I do but sometimes like in this case you need to count your chains to make sure you have the correct multiple so stitch works out correctly.
