Liam, you would make a great professor of Logic, because you are able to explain complex ideals and generalize the understanding. I myself am pursuing a Ph.D., in Psych and I've thought about being a Psych professor. The Logic realm aka Logos of the human mind; cognition, perception is something I've always been fascinated on. My understanding is, everything is influenced and governed by something, and effects the outcome of what comes after it. Those whom understand the process and nature of it, tend to not to fall easy to influences; they tend to observe the reasoning and meaning of influences. Yet, even them whom understand the process can be subconsciously influenced by predetermined conceptions, (their wiring), which in my understanding, this would be your perception of what is "right or wrong", that govers those influences. I.e., people have this misconception that Freud attempted to debunk theism, yet, if you understand the logic of his work, he was merely explaining the reasoning/logic behind theism and how there are fallacies in them, such as; if you can't prove that something exists or not exist, then it is an illusion. Also, he states that an illusion does not merit the existence or non existence of something, it merely clarifies the lack of scientific proof. You touched a bit on this in the video. Great work, keep making videos like these!
Honestly I'm in love that you're out here just flexing on me with your anthropology & sociology knowledge because that's what got me to subscribe and I'm so glad I'm getting more of it!!!
And LOVE how you use a methodical method to educate the beauty community. They need to learn that BEAUTY COMES FROM WITHIN first of all. Buy stuff to HELP you feel good about yourself, but remember that beauty is inside. Live and let live w respect to others.

Mystery Woman I think it could be don’t drop friends because they got different opinions than yours or something like that. But I’m not sure I can’t see it either
Im a huge comic book nerd and this got me thinking if this same idea also applies to them, with characters like batman being idolized to silly degrees while other characters recieve undeserved hate and how this usually culminates in a retcon (a large story arch that ends with characters origins and/or powers (and ultimately the writers themselves) being changed) and i also wonder if that applies to many forms of media and if this religious cycle is how we as humans make sense of large scale functions and events across the board.
Loads of literary protagonists are also deliberately written as a tabula rasa ("blank slate"), meaning with a minimum of defining personality such that the reader can project their emotions and desires upon it while picturing themselves on them. An extreme example of this is Bella from Twilight or the chick from 50 shades of grey (same basic character). Basically Batman is Bella for boys.
The concept that the internet is almost like a symbolic place; a platform through which people can "peer into collections of human consciousness", was really well-explained and a fascinating way to look at it. I loved that bit, it - and basically the whole video - made my mind go off on a hundred different thought trains. I have so many ideas and questions now I will be mulling over well after finishing this video; a very thought-provoking video essay. I appreciate the effort you put into these and for sharing them and your fabulous mind with us! 🌱☀️
It reminds me of a famous film maker I watched, he did a video on the grizzly man, I forgot him name, but it starts with a 'w' and he sounds like a German corpse who just learned english, but his work is a lot like Liam's

Some politics have become religious in nature too. The existence of in/out groups, heresy, a concept of “original sin” that one must purge or seek deliverance from, etc. I’m still a leftist but I don’t participate in any social justice endeavors anymore because it has crossed into a religious level of doctrine 🤷🏻♀️
I really appreciate that analogy of the Feast of Fools. In the months leading up to the Bye Sister scandal, there were a lot of mini scandals involving James and a lot of people were really disdainful towards him. His entitlement, his voice, his loud personality, his inability to credit smaller creators, etc. were all things that people disliked about James Charles. So when he was rumored to be a predator, people were given a much more valid reason to hate such a popular influencer. Currently, a lot of people who didn't like Jeffree and/or Shane are now a lot more vocal about how they never really liked them and are glad everyone else hates them now too. If anything, it's confirmation bias.

I graduated college a year ago now and miss anthro classes soooo much (I was a bio major/ art minor and was a few courses away from an anthro minor). I absolutely love thinking about the sociology of religion (why I'm literally obsessed with learning about the duggars and other super religious groups). I loved learning new sociological theories and conducting ethnographic research (I had to go on trips and conduct research for this course I took). I also LOVE thinking about cancel culture/ following this drama shite / etc etc. Basically I just want you to know that I wish I could talk to you about this stuff for hours lmao we would vibe so hard. Keep making vids, dude!!!
Hi, first time viewer here, and I just wanna say I love this. Being raised in a religion I no longer associate with that I always felt was very cult-like, I've been so fascinated by the way religion seemingly aligns with "stan" mentality. This was a really cool video, and I really love this kind of format. I think it would be super cool to see this kind of similar breakdown of "stans" of like, fictional media and the phenomenon of "fandom purity" like with what happened with Voltron or what happens now with current anime like BNHA or Western animation especially. With fictional media especially it strikes me as funny because so many of the "antis" that police the way other fans are allowed to enjoy a piece of media are people who proclaim themselves atheists but still act like Puritans. Just like your point about Japan and Shinto influences. Idk, I know I went on a tangent there but like, I think you have a lot of neat insight into internet mindset. Can't wait to see more of your vids, my dude!
Girl, this is some special content! I’m not aware of any creator that puts so much theoretical basis in videos, and, most importantly, IT’S ACCESSIBLE. I love it.
Liam, this is such a profound and unique approach to analysing this whole clownery. The way in which you applied and related anthropological theories to stan culture is really a unique concept. Your brain, sir, YOUR MIND AMAZES ME. I love this whole academic approach to dramageddon and cancel culture. I appreciate all the hardwork and effort you put into this. You're really amazing.
So, Liam. I just met you yesterday while i was doing my annual "what´s going on in TH-cam this days" search and even if in the surface all this thing that was going on can be seen as "makeup community drama" there was something about Jeffrey Star that didn't fit for me and then...your videos. Well, wow. At the start i was a little bit confused, hehe, i mean there was all this information and the makeup and how you organize the information and explained it...i was like "about what is this channel?" because if this is a channel where someone put on makeup while explaining all the dirty things about the idols of nowadays and at the same time speaks about sociology, theories about religion and even the three rethorical appeals...I'M IN. Hehe, really, what a great job. You're really good at doing this. Good videos.
As a psych student and someone with a short attention span that gets really easily distracted I love your videos. They're the perfect mix of pure facts, analytics and great editing.
lei.z This reflects any community of devoted fans. No matter what or who the subject of devotion is, people will always worship those they consider special on any way. The Beatles, Trump, Beyoncé, One Direction, Jamie Dornan, Freud, Norman Miller (who stabbed his wife in public and still had his biographer defend him)...it doesn’t matter. Lack of critical thinking and blind faith in someone’s inherent value will always be people’s downfall.
what a detailed insight, i love how you used actual history and different mythologies but explained them through iconic memes 💀 hopefully you do more videos like these
Big Brain energy. Had a couple of light blub moments here after my brain started applying this to political figures. I've been going around ideas in my head recently about political figures being idolised etc kfrom a UK/Scottish politics perspective) & this really helped me solidify those thoughts into something more understandable. Really love these Internet archaeology videos a lot.
This was feckin great. I love the way you made comparisons to behaviors/cultural norms throughout history and how even though we have 'evolved', we still play out many of the same behaviors just in a wholly different context. The internet really is a collective mind, almost like a reliquary for consciousness, letting us externalize and stare into the vast abyss that is existence. It plays out every single facet of human behavior and amplifies every aspect, letting us really see our flaws and core motivations/drivers. We compulsively turn to idols for clues on behavior, acceptability.... everything. The internet is absolutely wild to think about and I really appreciate this perspective.
"The US is obsessed with the origin of democracy" lol 😂 the US might've been more democratic than most places in the begging of the country but a 2 party system for a giant country isn't very democratic nowadays
@@marianaramirez4780 your comment makes absolutely no sense and you thought you did something. Democracy is a political regime and a pluralistic way of somebody geting to the leadership of a country and a republic is a state where "the public, the people rule" opposite to a monarchy. There can be a democratic or aristocratic republic. Democracy and republics are tied to each other, not opposites.
This is why many states are moving towards a rank voting system, to keep things truly in line with our great democratic republic, and so the cons can stop trying to sell America to the russians and Chinese.

i TOTALLY agree, but i think kids would try to take advantage of his “chill” energy 🥺😔 but yeah no fuck i hope he becomes something huge so people will learn from him
Dude, "he who should not be names" is coming for you. Wow and yup totally agree with you when you know that he got mad because you are throwing facts and he knows it. Am 100% behind you.
mari dont send that energy out there! Aint NOBODY coming for Liam. Nameless will be humbled and eat that which Nameless has BEEN serving. Liam is 💯
But.......
Even if Nameless DID, Liams brilliant and would shred every attempt&toss it in the air, just more shine2add2his glow. Trust.
@@coraldawn191 girl what energy? I simply repeated what liam said. He even say it because of copy right. And I know liam can handle himself because that why I said I was behind him 100%
“I had to make it gay some how” LMAOOOO
The editing is just👌🏼*italian chef kiss 👨🏻🍳 don’t be shy give us more 🥺👉🏻👈🏻
Liam, you would make a great professor of Logic, because you are able to explain complex ideals and generalize the understanding.
Great work, keep making videos like these!
shane dawson WISHES his docu-series could be like this 😌 im so happy to see that you got more than 100k you deserve it!
Do you really believe Shane would mount to such understanding? However, I wish everybody did including him.
MRooz spill lmao
Jeffree’s stans drinking up the knowledge in this video like: “why is it ŠPĮČŸ 👹”
He's also IN THE PROCESS of trying to take Liam down AGAIN, AND LOSING AGAIN!!!
Pahaahhaha I read it in that voice too lol
"I don't want kindness to go unnoticed". amen...
Honestly I'm in love that you're out here just flexing on me with your anthropology & sociology knowledge because that's what got me to subscribe and I'm so glad I'm getting more of it!!!
Yeah! I feel sad for people who aren’t interested or intrigued by his commentary!
Having this conversation is so necessary. Unconditionally loving someone you don't even know can't be healthy in my opinion.
"Cause I peed on a toaster" is hands down the most ICONIC & RELATABLE post typed in 2020 & throughout the decade.
Honestly I was getting worried when Liam suddenly disappeared, thought might of something to do with Jeffree 💀
Omg when you’re talking about pixels at 9:00 and the edit where you reveal yourself 👏 I just appreciate your craft so much
yessss omg
Yes, I too very much appreciated that sequence of footage ☺
And LOVE how you use a methodical method to educate the beauty community. They need to learn that BEAUTY COMES FROM WITHIN first of all. Buy stuff to HELP you feel good about yourself, but remember that beauty is inside. Live and let live w respect to others.
PD. Jaffar star is UGLY inside out, no amount of money mansions or branded crap will ever make him feel complete. Young people need to learn that's NOT success, I actually feel sorry for Jaffar*
this whole concept is amazing and definitely NOT boring at all. also props for being so intelligent and well spoken. your videos like this one are such quality content. keep up the amazing work!
Yo wait I’m actually taking a class on religions and we learning this shit right now. We love an educated queen who does her tea search. 👏
Great username 💚
Psyche GoddessofLight i can’t read it😂
Mystery Woman I think it could be don’t drop friends because they got different opinions than yours or something like that. But I’m not sure I can’t see it either
It's Don't drop friends because they got different beliefs. Love it
Yes it’s don’t drop your friends because they got different beliefs
I really dig the Internet Archeology series; I'd love to see more.
The way he connected this back to ancient times got me feelin like a serf
I feel like I just earned a degree
Omg, that whole "feast of fools" explanation makes me thing of "the purge". The release of tension 😳.
Thank god im not alone
Im a huge comic book nerd and this got me thinking if this same idea also applies to them, with characters like batman being idolized to silly degrees while other characters recieve undeserved hate and how this usually culminates in a retcon (a large story arch that ends with characters origins and/or powers (and ultimately the writers themselves) being changed) and i also wonder if that applies to many forms of media and if this religious cycle is how we as humans make sense of large scale functions and events across the board.
That's a really good point.
Was it Werner Herzog? I think that’s how you spell it! When you said German corpse that’s who came to mind lmao
The dislikes are from jealous history teachers....
Or Jefferson Starfish’s stans
🤣🤣💯
You're totally right on Tom Nook's origins being about a mythological tanuki, but I do want to point out that a tanuki is an actual animal! They're also called "raccoon dogs" and they're very cute :)
Guess this just furthers the "animal crossing is real life" meme lol
Liam is like a undercover detective of the internet ✨ 🙌🏾
Yess if I ever suspect my husband is cheating I'm calling him
I didn’t ever imagine that I would learn this much of both the history of religion and internets Stan-culture from one and the same video!
If Freud was alive.... boy i imagine the shade in his books about this stuff
omg imagine having this much brain power while also being extremely funny, we stan a versatile queen
Somebody wife liam up because this intelligence is a big turn on. Lighting so many lightbulbs in head with these theories
I'm living for this series. Please keep making them. Keep that "he's so bothered" smile. You've taught me so much about not only bequtytuber drama but also sociology. If you become a professor I'd pay to take your classes on anything.
I was packing a bowl when this first began and I was pretty stoned at about the 6 minute mark and then you started saying the internet is like our crystal balls and the room is spinning
😂
I stan you Brittany
Girl I just ripped a dab and I'm with you lol
Lol WHAT??? SAM SAME, SIS!!!😂😂😂😂
Girl I just watched the 2 about jefree and this one stoned as hell, and was NOT prepared.
Who would have thought a southern woman of a “certain age,” attends your Internet classes with baited breath and is never disappointed? You are just a charmer! Much success in the future. XXXOOO
Wow finally a youtuber making a real analysis about this circus. In sociology and history we trust. An educated legend ✨✨
i use "cant relate" alot but now that jeffree is cancelled what do i say now

Your editing is perfect. I have ADD and your intercuts help me keep my attention by changing up frequently. I usually tune out of everything within 8-10 minutes. I can retain what you’re saying and I absolutely love it

omf the pewdiepie "yay tea" clip caught me so off guard I'm cackling so hard
Some politics have become religious in nature too. The existence of in/out groups, heresy, a concept of “original sin” that one must purge or seek deliverance from, etc. I’m still a leftist but I don’t participate in any social justice endeavors anymore because it has crossed into a religious level of doctrine 🤷🏻♀️
SIS!!!! Pop AWFFFF!!!!! *Facts* 💅💅💅
You just explained to me why a lot of social justice stuff that aligns with my beliefs have always felt icky to me.
the amount of time and effort you’ve put into this doesn’t go unnoticed! we stan an academic queen✨✨
Excellent - I am 57 years old, lived a privileged, easy life, privately educated....... and think you're amazing.
You leave me standing at the starting gate !
Many thanks......all the way from London.
“Key word is” *says 3 words*
Just when I had nothing left of value to watch here on the tube, Liam arrives. F*cking Thankyou.
An honest mood
This was so interesting and well done! I’ve never seen someone apply a “academic” lense onto drama like this
Check out Contrapoints, Liam put some clips of her in this. Also Lindsey Ellis and philosophytube.

I would love to see more of this analytical an intellectual perspective content from you.
This should be taught in schools. Like, legit this series is great!
I’ve literally rewatched all your videos at least twice because your sooo entertaining. Your work is amazing and your hella funny
this drama is just the roman holiday (nicki) song being acted out
EXACTLY
Lol!!
Wow it do got the vibe
The edits of the eye in your thumbnails always gets me 😭
That is crazy!! I was just thinking that! That’s how I found her in the first place! I clicked instantly.......it’s actually genius 🧠
Honestly, this could also reflect kpop stan community. Terrifying.
lei.z
This reflects any community of devoted fans.
I think you mean anthropology.
@@beatricechaves4396 no. Clearly said Internet archaeology at the start of the video.
“Im changed” -Jeffree Star doing the quacking Spongebob
here before the vid gets taken down (I'm joking hopefully it doesn't get taken down)
The way you snapped so hard for the third time in a row
"I exploit you, still you love me."
Cult of Personality by Living Colour for you young ones.
"The US is obsessed with the origin of democracy" lol 😂 the US might've been more democratic than most places in the begging of the country but a 2 party system for a giant country isn't very democratic nowadays
The United States of America was never a true Democracy. It has always been a Republic and was designed this way to protect the states.
Laura yes!! thats why we a democratic republic 😌 greece proved being exclusively one or the other does NOT last in the long run
This is why many states are moving towards a rank voting system, to keep things truly in line with our great democratic republic, and so the cons can stop trying to sell America to the russians and Chinese.
A house divided against itself...
I don’t completely agree with everything said in this work but it’s interesting to think about how TH-cam is the new church for gen z’s. love the series!
I’ve learned more from you than my entire BACHELORS degree I swear! Great video!! I love your thought process and insightful/intellectually stimulating take on the beauty community as a whole. I think you’re spot on!

I run into your videos by accident and I am speechless you're more informative than those stupid drama channels that will do anything for a a like..
I actually miss college after watching this. We should never stop learning!!

I don't really miss the school but I miss studying like real studying with a purpose. 🙉
I really find this fascinating! You’d excel as a professor.
I have been binge watching your excellent videos lately, I love them all especially Internet Archeology. I have not heard from you in a while and hope you are well and just enjoying a summer break. Cannot wait to see you back, everything you do is done to such an incredibly high level, of research, editing, writing and your makeup skills. once again hope all is well and that you enjoy your hiatus.
