- I rare ride, for you guys, on the 511 SMR. Need more space for an incoming supermoto, the 511 was the logical candidate to be sold, I just can't do it.

nothing but respect for this video. Machines can have strong impacts on us mentally. When you have it for a long time and you work on it and make it truly 'yours' it transcends 'just being a machine' it's a part of you. Just like an old friend you might see not so often but when you do catch up you have a blast and remain mates regardless of time or circumstances. Bikes=friends friends=memories memories cannot be bought or sold.

Your passion is infectious RJ. I had a crash last year and am not really comfortable riding yet, but listening to you speak really helps.
I have to say that I had a PC of the year 2012 that was only seen in HD and I was satisfied watching RJ videos in 1080p, now I have a PC this year that I bought two days ago and the quality of videos in 4K is really beautiful. It is wonderful to watch videos like this

I totally understand your position RJ I say find a storage solution for the bikes near home or get an extension built on the back of your garage to expand it. It's a very special bike and 1 you clear love to ride & own just do whatever it takes to keep her in your life.

Just a suggestion, but for the garage space issue, is it not possible to get the DTs up on some kinda racking system?
I know you don't ride them that much, so that would save some floor space?
If the garage is tall enough for that of course, but I've seen it done before and it works really well.

Umm spent the afternoon working on my Husky Nuda RJ not feeling love for it....1st all the panel work off, then the rear underside cowl...then the rear subframe and fuel tank...the the air box...then finally I can change the spark plugs ! Still tomorrow I can put it all back together....ah joy and no doubt by then the Uk summer will be over ! Pain and suffering makes you love it more I think. All the best mate.

I know exactly how you feel mate, I’ve been in a similar situation with an old XT600 Tenere a few years ago. I did sell her in the end but it took a long time to let her go!

You are right to love the bike. It's a rare bike as you said. Even in Sweden where the brand comes from. People who buy them seem to keep them ☺. I have only seen one used bike for sale in Sweden for the last year.

RJ, does this vibrate as much as the KTM big singles do? That's the only gripe i have with my LC4 640 , you can feel that big single beating down on the frame. I think you made a good choice to keep the 511.
I really understand you as i am in the exact same situation, i have an aprilia sxv 550 supermoto i already tryied to put the ad on the internet, i put in on the evening,next morning i removed it lol, i just can't do it. To me it's very unique and it is, is the only true supermoto with a v twin engine and oh man the sound it makes; it has a thousand things that are a pain in the ass like the shitty reliability but every time (when it works lol) i get on it i get a smile on my face, it's a hooligan bike, it's just ridicolous the amount of power and torque such a lightweight bike has, it's just insane.
Btw it's not that bad but it's a quite delicate engine...but the sound
It's the only twin that can be called a supermoto. I tried many times but never was brave enough because of their reliability. Enjoy :)
I regret selling my SXV550, but I got fed up with the maintenance and didn't have the space for two bikes. Got a nuda now, it's awesome but it doesn't compare to the SXV.
I have one and agree. When it works amazing. I will also say that tuning them even further is a mistake hahahahaha
How close are your handlebars when filtering these cars? I would be terrified. Also my Honda VFR I think would not be able to weave the traffic like these bikes; poor turning circle :D

Hi RJ , I have an smr 511 also i love it. I Will not sell it .. great bike light and fun, ( My garage has now since last week an old ktm 690 sm ) will keep all my bikes. love them all .

May be your garage can fit second floor kinda gallery and lifter? Or dig it under ground floor? Also you probably can just locate bikes more compact, use more vertical positions, straight and backwards and etc.

If in standard mode, 10k is not much, if 10K in race mode, I would have it professionally inspected.

Don't sell it it's a very nice bike ! Yes this is not a pratical bike, yes it can be easily stolen in London but this is a very fun bike for sure ! keep it and ride it in the countryside, where you can do anything you want with it ( like wheelies :p)
How does the 511 compare to the Nuda in regards of agility? You've always said the Nuda was a very agily, nimble bike that was very easy to maneuvre through trafic. But seeing you druve the 511 it looks an even more agile bike you easily and gladly throw through traffic and corners. Is it due to it being a lot lighter or more because of how the weight distribution is ? Or do looks decieve?
Out of curiosity ... is the new one the 701 / Vitpilen?
The 511 will run circles around the Nuda, and almost every other bike out there in terms of agility.

The Zero FXS doesn't use flammable fuel, so there should be no problem parking it in the living room. So you can have both of them. :-)

Perhaps you should consider selling the Grom, awesome little bike aswell, but i think it's the least special out of your collection.
Start thinking about which bike you rather keep, Nuda or SD? SD or S1000R? S1000R or 511? 511 or Grom?
I'd love to see how you store all your bikes and bits, it seems like you would have a load of gear and the way your bikes are I'd imagine that the garage would have to be tidy. Only if there was some way you could make it totally non track able so no visitors happen.

RJ go with your heart. If you can’t for the life of you sell the 511 then don’t. Keep it, because once you let it go you’ll regret that decision, I know what it’s like selling a bike and then getting another one. You’ll always look at it and just think why did I do that.

If you like the old scrambler type bikes there’s a couple of clean 70s huskies on eBay at the mo. And some guys 511smr he’s ruined for 4500.
