Amazing to see the level of detail and quality that goes into a device like this. I especially loved how you explained the benefits of using a SoDIMM module for the processor. It's a clever way to save costs and increase flexibility. Good work, as always 👏
Another reason for SODIM is that it requires more layers and smaller geometry for routing. If they made it into the main board, it would substantially increase the cost of the main PCB!
9:18 IC with TI39 1VQQ marking is Texas Instruments Op-Amp part no: OPA2189IDGKR in VSSOP packaging. Thanks for the teardown, will be interesting to hear about the autoranging fix when it comes about. :)
When you opened it up the first time you should have stuck the front panel sticker down again before pretending to do it again ;-) Actually your other video thumbnail shows it lifted too, poor glue from Rigol?
Thanks!

Thank you very much!

This the exact reason that was presented in the video...
really cool, more of these teardowns!
I checked the datasheet, a great processor for $7
The chip TI39 could be a comparator TLV340x. The fact of removing markup from the "MCU" could meant that this is the ADC, Or MCU with the ADC
Total blender. Simple multimeter chipset, no microcontroller
How to solve the problem with auto ranging?
Thanks 👍

😮😊😊😊😊
Not a fan of connectors perpendicular to the pcb, traces and solder will fail.
cheap hanheld multimeter in bench case with android
Warranty sticker ... And a coin cell battery + fuse(s) on the inside. Come on Rigol ... Do better.
