Gus wins $10,000 within 50 seconds at a PLO table. However, the session doesn't end with a positive outcome. A couple of big pots later and Gus is down to nothing.
This is how it started, Gus wanted the last 200$, instead he lost 19k. And for 2 years he have been chasing that money, now he is down 10mil. I always wondered where it started.
+Scott Hedley also out of the two big pots he was in with gus the first he had nut flush draw with his gutshot and the second one he had a full wrap and was favorite. He played fine
+John R Tbh I'm really not sure of the equities in the hands when they went all in. I'm a hold'em player, so having to deal with the math on 4-card hands is something I'm not used to.
big wrap or gutshot + flush draw; no, Gus is definitely the donk here. holdem or Omaha, when do u ever buyin for 25 bbs on such shorthanded table and play almost every hand?
@afermedia the video was posted 2 years ago, so FT wasnt rlly updated until it looks like it right now. and its omaha, then u get that too, unless theres some setting for hold'em idk tbh :/
I know. He acted like damn, I'm forced to do this. Maybe a new rule is if you come within a couple bucks of target, move on. Imagine the difference in your day? That last hand was a bad beat.
If I took advice from Gus Hansen (the single biggest losing poker player in the history of poker or the internet) I'm sure I'd do very well in the modern game.
i know everyone knows full tilt is rigged. here is their strategy in tournaments. In tournaments they give one person a lot of luck so they can knock out a lot of players. this way, more people get out quicker and spend more money on more tournaments. So in tournaments when you see someone on a roll, giving everyone horrible bad beats, stay away from them. If you have kings, most likely they will have aces. In fact, just don't play full tilt. You will lose all your money.
Same as 3 or 4 of the same suit is a bad hand. You want connecting/suited cards. Like AJ spades + QJ diamonds. You have the potential to make nut straights and flushes. Pocket pairs are great too for hitting sets with hope of improving to a full house. Double pocket pairs are solid as you're twice as likely to hit a set/full house.
its a hard way to make an easy living. you try to get some kinda strategy, like let me just double up and dip than you lose it the next time u play. nd u pretty much just wasted 2 days. whos gonna figure out this game?
Seriously how bad can players play? Playing with real money for thousands and they just call with middle and bottom pair and instant call a huge raise with junk.. the same player got lucky on gus 3 times
He has rollercoaster session, and yet 20 million downswing, poker is a skill game, huh? that's why he is fired, because full tilt want people to think it is skill game, if they see gus, no one would dare to risk lot of money in this game anymore
Gus I watch you all the time on FT. It seems like you played very sensible in this session, but whenever I watch you it seems like you just shove and pray alot. When are you gonna start crushing the games again and start destroying punks like Hastings and Ziiggy?!!! Take them DOWN!
that's why I hate fuckin' omaha, you flop top set and it is still possible to lose the hand... I mean, there's also that possibility in hold'em but it does not happen too much... I like hold'em, 2-7 single and triple draw, badugi, stud, razz, but not omaha... maybe limit omaha
Yeah, that's why I don't like it... Although I recently won a ticket on an omaha freeroll tourney so I guess I'm not that bad but I still prefer any other poker game, I'd play it for real money only on heads up matches
@nightmaredust911 unfortunately, your conspiracy theories dont make up for your horrible play. continue blaming it on the site and forget improving your play. ill take your money too.
when you buyin for only 25 BBs on a very short-handed PLO table and play almost every hand, you are a donk and gambler. and that is exactly what Gus Hansen has always been.
That 50 cents cost him 20k. Oh, the mindset of a poker player.
lol, that's true
+williv And why he lost 20 million online.
hey gus, steven here from hong kong nice of u to show us, good luck and God bless
Gus has a very calm temprament. I would be shouting and screaming during a session like that.
i still dont understand why he folded 2 pairs. i know there's straight possibility and sets but 2 pair is that weak in omaha?? someone explain
2008... those were the times...
dam 50 cents are expensive these days lol
the player he is playing against is "CHUFTY" he recently went pro on Full Tilt now he as known as Richard Ashby
This is how it started, Gus wanted the last 200$, instead he lost 19k. And for 2 years he have been chasing that money, now he is down 10mil. I always wondered where it started.
Andreas2800 He wanted 50c the amount he lost in rake.
I like the sound when he clicks the button. Does anyone know what kind of input device (keyboard / mouse) he uses?
weedipikia you need to chill
Sure, but did you get rakeback?
The donk in this hand was the player to Gus' left, Legiao. He was praying for gutshots left and right and kept spiking
*sigh*
Poor Gus
he was to his right
+John R oops my bad
+Scott Hedley also out of the two big pots he was in with gus the first he had nut flush draw with his gutshot and the second one he had a full wrap and was favorite. He played fine
+John R Tbh I'm really not sure of the equities in the hands when they went all in. I'm a hold'em player, so having to deal with the math on 4-card hands is something I'm not used to.
big wrap or gutshot + flush draw; no, Gus is definitely the donk here. holdem or Omaha, when do u ever buyin for 25 bbs on such shorthanded table and play almost every hand?
Damn gussy, that's plo though really. You played pretty well too.
U got a stapler on top of your mouse that u have2 depress before clicking or something lol?
I love how he says hell leave when he doubles up and he doubled up first hand LMAO
He didn't double up. That 50 cent rake bro.
you guys don't know what windows he is using, he could easily be using windows vista or xp in this video
I was getting pissed off about losing 4 dollars, this kinda puts things in perspective
lol ur pathetic
this guy seems good. can anyone tell me how he's doing in 2017?
that was the joke mate
LOL
0:51 the reaction when he wins 10 000$ is priceless!
Is it me or is there a Geiger counter in the background?
"Where players become winners"
@afermedia the video was posted 2 years ago, so FT wasnt rlly updated until it looks like it right now. and its omaha, then u get that too, unless theres some setting for hold'em idk tbh :/
i feel gus's pain, i just lost a $2.80 sit and go!
was gus filming this???
LOL he was 50 cents short of 20k so he was like OH i didnt hit my bench mark i'll keep playing! LOL GUS
love how his target is $20,000 and when he gets to $19,999.50 he carries on lol
I know. He acted like damn, I'm forced to do this. Maybe a new rule is if you come within a couple bucks of target, move on. Imagine the difference in your day? That last hand was a bad beat.
how can he put that bet slidder with 1/2 pot botton?
that 50 cents cost him $19,999.50
I need to learn that composure that you have gus lol I get to pissed off when I get donked on have take a 5 min break before returning
I know he's rich and all, but he seemed soo calm when he lost those sick hands. If i was him, i would for sure think this was a scam
He really focuses on the long run rather than the short term wins / losses.
Wasn't he part of the FullTilt Pro Team. So he was paid by the scam from the FullTilt Scammers and illegal criminals & poker cheats.
If I took advice from Gus Hansen (the single biggest losing poker player in the history of poker or the internet) I'm sure I'd do very well in the modern game.
why is his mouse so dam loud
@lyc16 2pair in omaha is about the same as middle or bottom pair in holdem
lol, from 10k to 19k to 0.. learned a lot ^^
@mathchemist not his computer.. he is a mac
makes me feel better losing at 1/2
Well kids, if there's one thing we all learned from this video is that greed does not pay!
WTF windows 98 ?
the sound at the queen drill :D:D
Definite tilt starting at 6:30. Should have just folded next hand. Too focused on "goal" imo.
risking 20k to make 50 cents seems rather stupid
Damn dude all $2.80? You need to get backers for tournaments like that
he smells funky too
3 times on river, I think 99% of the poker players would have gone tilt...
i know everyone knows full tilt is rigged. here is their strategy in tournaments.

every street is more money than i have
oops i think we hit a Q on the river lol
The good old times xD
Lol the message board gots these dorks
yeah 2 pair in Omaha is nothing especially if it's not the top two pair
?? he was only .50c from his 20k target!!!!!
take the 9999.5 and run Gus!!!!
7:53 now you have a legit hand and you are broke sweet lol
how he goes ooouu!!
that's why i quit online poker; it can make you go crazy after awhile
omaha = funny bingo where no one fold a draw.
BETS with the worst hands lol
what if you get dealt "KKKK"?
it's pretty much just "KK", and you can't hit a set or quad. LOL!
KKKK is a terrible hand.
Same as 3 or 4 of the same suit is a bad hand. You want connecting/suited cards. Like AJ spades + QJ diamonds. You have the potential to make nut straights and flushes. @mathchemist
hahahahahahahahahahahaha
Live cards I'm fine, but man its just so easy to blow up on online poker, see so many more suck outs per hours with so many more hands per hour
its a hard way to make an easy living. you try to get some kinda strategy, like let me just double up and dip than you lose it the next time u play. nd u pretty much just wasted 2 days. whos gonna figure out this game?
i would of quit with 19k
i dont care who you are if you lose 10 grand thats a lot of money to any one
Lol at troll commenting in video
Seriously how bad can players play? Playing with real money for thousands and they just call with middle and bottom pair and instant call a huge raise with junk.. the same player got lucky on gus 3 times
hahahhahahhaha sooo sick!!!!!!
He has rollercoaster session, and yet 20 million downswing, poker is a skill game, huh? that's why he is fired, because full tilt want people to think it is skill game, if they see gus, no one would dare to risk lot of money in this game anymore
it is a skill game he just sucks a lot of players have become millionaires because of him
@vince117 No look at 52 sec
6:25 poor gus
i think he should stopped at 19k but he got 3 bad beats in a row pffffffffffffffff
hahaftyu gus...
Look at those bad beats lol no wonder he's down 20M
Gus I watch you all the time on FT. It seems like you played very sensible in this session, but whenever I watch you it seems like you just shove and pray alot. When are you gonna start crushing the games again and start destroying punks like Hastings and Ziiggy?!!! Take them DOWN!
Crubber J who are you talking to? Gus isn’t here.
that's why I hate fuckin' omaha, you flop top set and it is still possible to lose the hand... I mean, there's also that possibility in hold'em but it does not happen too much... I like hold'em, 2-7 single and triple draw, badugi, stud, razz, but not omaha... maybe limit omaha
Thats why you play it deep stacked not short stacked like they are playing. You pretty much never bluff unless you have a dead read.
You have to be able to handle huge swings when you are playing plo thats for sure.
Yeah, that's why I don't like it... Although I recently won a ticket on an omaha freeroll tourney so I guess I'm not that bad but I still prefer any other poker game, I'd play it for real money only on heads up matches
not really ;)
gus, you are a punter, no disrespect, but you are
Full Tilt sucks!
@nightmaredust911 unfortunately, your conspiracy theories dont make up for your horrible play. continue blaming it on the site and forget improving your play. ill take your money too.
1/2 cents tables are tougher nowadays, poker is dead now its pure variance no edge
when you buyin for only 25 BBs on a very short-handed PLO table and play almost every hand, you are a donk and gambler. and that is exactly what Gus Hansen has always been.
Rake killed him
