Great comments and viewpoints Deltia. I like what you said about the spirit of play. Interestingly enough, I have received more help from enemy players on skills/gear/tips and playstyle than my own faction. Because they are fighting me, they can give advice my own team can't. It doesn't have to be toxic
Thank you. I love PvP and I really appreciate your positivity and general respect for others. It's true ESO is a game. We shouldn't be toxically tbagging or hating on each other. Everyone has to start somewhere, nobody starts out a professional. You sir, are awesome 😎
I always appreciate your practical, common sense approach. I feel it has helped me a lot. Also since my husband started watching your streams, I've noticed he seems to enjoy PvP a lot more and swears a lot less.
the stuff you covered about proc sets are such good points! and a positive way to look at it! also, regarding the battleground thing, yeah I have noticed that too and that toxic mentality has been super prevalent in this game since as long as I can remember... Hope to see it change soon
If you’re not bagging your cappin🤣🤣 I think it’s always been that way regardless of what game you play. It’s a get with it or don’t kind of thing. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t believe that 99% of gamers have played COD and developed a toxic Comp attitude
You hit the nail on the head with cryodiil missing the unpredictability factor it once had, lost, but now has again. Bombers are a thing again and tanks can last. Its beautiful. Dare I say, "great again."
Welcome back, you officially gave the best video on the state of pvp. As a total play time of over a year on a heavy attack pet sorcerer. I understand thinking outside the box... I love everything in pvp but THE GOD DAM WEREWOLF. For some reason zos refuse to nerf them... Also in ic I wish when your in ic You never have to leave ic...so give us a transmission station and a spec station in pvp zones. I hate having to leave pvp zones to tweak my toon.
In regards to the toxic behavior in BGS, I'll never forget my worst experience in ESO. I always loved pvp, in particular bgs. I was really active during the summerset expansion, running a magplar with the broken 10% speed per enchantment on jewelry. Well I was having a blast being a glass cannon and running people down with jabs, when Irealized I was in the top 10 in tdm. I decided screw it, why not get #1 for the week? Well I earned my way up to the top, and NEVER have I been harassed so much for just playing a game before. Keep in mind I PUG'd my way there, and my MMR shot up so much I basically only faced grouped players. Well a pvp clan took it personally that I'd dare take first, and constantly pm'd me threatening to ddoss me and report spam my xbox account if I didn't duel them. I shit you not, these were full grown men too, running their mouths at me in voice chat the entire time I duelled them. Of course they ran full duel buds while I used my bgs items, so I just got slapped around. Fortunately the only thing that made the situation better was I told my guild what they were doing to me, and they got ahold of some of their buddies in another duelling guild that came over and talked shit to them, proceeding to beat their asses in every duel until the people harassing me gave up. I hated ESO pvp after that experience, and stopped playing for two years, and still now only play maybe once or twice a month. As a small note, this entire thing was all over the tdm leaderboard spot that RESETS WEEKLY. It was absolutely absurd that anyone cared so much about it.
Thank you for the tips Deltia, I am 2 months into this video game and 3 months into gaming period. I was terrified of pvping, but i tried it with my guild and it wasn't as scary as i thought. I appreciate the advice and will try my best to implement at least some of them. I'm running a magicka sorc and really enjoying all the elements of the game. Right now I don't think I'm a pvp kinda player...but i like that i can try itand the new event will get me to experiment some more. Also i love your attitude and wish that more ppl thought like you. Thanks again :)
As a player new to this particular game, I think I agree with you and Deltia. Initially I desired no proc for a more competitive, non-cheese, non-random environment. But you know what? I'm not excited to do dungeons for a +xyz to crit. Getting effects and making builds is too much of the fun.
I dueled a guy who was a heavy armor MagSorc who focused on kiting me around his daedric mines (the 5) and interrupted as often as possible lol it was a tough fight What did you mean "Went to Imperial City collecting monster helms"...?
Is now a good time to jump back into the game? Use to played heavily on Xbox just before morrowind. Got a ps5 and been craving this game again for its endgame and pvp. It use to be the best and most chaotic pvp. Still got a good population?
Totally agree with what you said about PvP not being about conforming to a spreadsheet and it's one of the reasons I really love PvP in this game - where I've grown to detest it in other MMOs. The real kicker is that a lot of non-meta builds work just fine in PvE as well but very few people are willing to give you a chance to demonstrate. They just kick you.
The skillgap in this game pvp wise is crazy big but I still think BGs would be a lot more fun and a faster que if there was no skillbased matchmaking. I don't wanna farm bots but I also don't wanna wait 10 mins for a BG packed with 1500+ CP heal batteries and broken set abusing stam sorcs and DKs and 40k health necros on a harmony build, just no fun at all
Great video!!! They could absolutely fix the majority of lag and bug issues though if they wanted to invest the money and time into it. New servers with new hardware is a must but not the whole problem. The coding tied to battle spirit needs to be redone from the ground up. A lot of bugs I have seen are directly tied to that. The smaller part of the lag issue they can’t fix is people’s internet connection and hardware they use to play the game. I love your videos and streams though my man. You definitely put positivity back into eso and that is definitely needed lol. 😃
Bomb Vd bomb vd bomb vd bomb vd bomb vd. Oh hey look there's a werewolf... you get bombed vd death while distracted . Within the month. 90% of the game will run bombs with vicious death. No point in playing anything else.
Great video ! Some of the comments make me roll my eyes tho lol , I pvp in both cp and no cp cyrodil and it’s not as bad as everyone here says. Maybe cuz I’m an avid pvper I guess I’m one of those sweaties but I hardly ever bag and I don’t use mythics or damage procs and I do just fine.
Does anyone know if leveling the companion guild skill lines past 10 does anything? I noticed that after doing an extra mage daily Bastion still increased despite having everything unlocked at 10.
I'm coming back to ESO after a LONG hiatus, ended up having to switch from PS4 to PC as well so starting over from scratch LOL but it's been a blast of nostalgia I'm gonna be honest, really great to remind me of why this was my favorite game and Elder Scrolls is my favorite game world. In terms of the PvP scene though, I have a few comments and insights I'd like to to talk about During my time out from ESO I spent a lot of time playing Guild Wars 2, a game that actually has a LOT in common with ESO in many ways, and I honestly feel it's kinda funny how in a lot of the places where one game falls short, the other game shines brightly and vice versa One thing that comes to mind for example is the structured pvp as they call in gw2, which is the main comparable to the Battlegrounds in ESO. In gw2 the primary gamemode of sPvP is Conquest, where you have a 3 point capture the hill format, with 2 teams of 5 players working towards capturing these 3 points and holding them to get 500 points. But the main difference that I think makes the gw2 pvp more fair, even if it's just as toxic since this will be just the nature of pvp modes in general... Is the fact that gear and stats are normalized. You can enter as level 1 or max level, white gear or capped gear, it does not matter. Once you enter the pvp lobby, the game will automatically switch your gear tab to the "pvp gear" tab, where it equips you with an amulet to determine your overall stats (ie, if you'll be a bulkier, more damaging, or more supportive build), and then equips you with a rune to determine your armor's set bonuses. Then you equip yourself with your weapons, once again these get normalized sigils, and you get to pvp against people in a mode where not your stat advantages matter, but only your skill and how you manage your build They do however, just like ESO, have an open world pvp map just like cyrodil called World vs World, where players get to keep their geared stats and this is where creativity tends to thrive (or depending on who you ask, the cheese builds thrive and it's more unfun than anything), and just like ESO with the proc sets and the various gear options, the open world pvp is where you would have most of your freedom for buildcraft and unpredictability. To close this off, in my opinion having played both games and both modes, the reason as to why ESO can't really have a ranked mode, but easily should be able to and honestly I would love it if it did, and I'm sure many other pvp centric players would as well... Is that there isn't any real parity between players in the game. A fight can be swung not by skill, but by various procs or the sheer variety of set bonuses that can end up too bloated to be accounted for
i want to play cyrodiil pvp so freaking bad but everytime i go in and get into a fight 1v1 1vx zerging the lagg is so bad i can't cast an ability if i get stunned im just dead cause its so laggy i can't breakfree my health goes from full to 0 before anything goes off its so frustrating
@@Deltiasgaming i just came back to eso waiting for newworld actually leveled a toon instead of buying skyreach did all the story was enjoying myself so much to the extent i was gonna play new world but eso gonna be my main game, and then i hop back into pvp and couple years ago i could zerg V zerg and hardly lagg, think its due to the free to play week but it killed my motivation so bad
I quit WoW (even before all the scandal stuff came out) and have been exploring other MMOs. I mostly want a good PVP experience. Currently downloading ESO. Is there rated/ranked pvp in ESO? I'm trying to get my MMO pvp fix, everyone tells me to get final fantasy or guild wars 2 but i'm being stubborn and wanted to check out things like ESO and SWTOR first. lol
I think tihs is my first comment. I'm a little bit confused about the PVP thing right here and the thing is I'm so interested on learning about how to play it and not get nuked by some random werewolf on BG or Cyrodiil. And let me explain myself a little. Since I started to play Skyrim back in 2011, the name "Cyrodiil" took it's roots and I always wanted to see it for myself. Then I played Oblivion kinda recently and when I jumped off to TES:O and I learned that you can actually travel to Cyrodiil or the Imperial City, man, that blows my head off. However, when I discovered that first, the Imperial Race was only playable if I payed an amount and then that Cyrodiil was an a PVP zone, I just quit the idea to visit it. This was on November 2020. Right now, after months of playing and trying this and that, I'm looking into playing PVP to visit Cyrodiil and the Imperial City to enjoy the view and for playing against other players too. When Deltia's said that I needed to put my training wheels before trying a super ultra extra hyper build from other sites (Y'know what I'm talking about guys) I forgot the main thing I was doing with my first toon, playing my own style rather than the meta. And it was fun. I'm going to try my own shitty build with some toons I've been working into and see how it goes. This will be my first time on Midyear Mayhem, so wish me luck! Also, if you want to talk to me or whatever on ESO, I'm by the name of @VladyaDK. Thank you Deltia's. You opened my eyes. :)
The state of pvp huh. So many videos and forum posts over the years about the state of eso pvp and nothing ever changes. The truth is the state of pvp is the same as it was 1 year ago or 2 years ago or 3 years ago. An unplayable laggy mess that is only fun on the rare occasion that there is enough people to have fun, but not to many people to cause cyrodil to lag. Zos has failed pvp players, and they have especially failed console pvp players. The fact that after so many years we have to deal with a 3 4 5 second skill delay on console is a joke. This dev team is utterly incompetent when it comes to performance, and hopefully people dont forget this when they make a new game. If you are a pvp player they dont give a shit about you, and never have.
yesterday i (lvl 48) was invited by some guild members (cp 980-1250) into cyrodill it was fun i one shoot died but the enemy guys were life tf you doing here.
I see what you're saying, a lot of the so-called "good" PvP'ers that just run small groups & focus one person after another hate this because it's not so easy to focus perceived 'weakest to strongest' order that they follow. With that said, I think PvP has become a monster ZOS has no idea how to control anymore & they'll never invest the resources it would take to truly fix it. I wish they would do a CP Battle Grounds... I've spent a long time earning these points & I like to use them.
I'm so new to PC eso I wonder if I have enough time to make a PvP build lol. I guess I can respec my StamDen PvE to PvP for the Mayhem.... and change the name to "MCdieAlot" haha
Start slow, just craft a good set of gear change attributes to health, hold block and breath as templar. Otherwise running around with 20k health and divines gear will be no fun.
Yeah nice promotion for zos damage control. Procs are not balanced and random death, uncounterable bs on top of lag. No thanks... I'd rather just roll dice to see who wins. Build diversity with procs is a joke... yeah you have the meta proc builds to pick from but no-proc builds will alwats be sub par. The sooner this game dies the better.
-while ability lag never goes away, the more serious 'skills won't go out at all times' can be traced to certain guilds being on or off (serious addon use)-hard crash happens when going to a keep which has been under attack for 20mins+ or hammer is out -this used to be a matter of debate until Zos broke groups, and everyone had to wear costumes for a week -and lag vanished -there is almost no lag late and a lot of the 1:1 and small man people only play then....but then the macros start working and it gets brutal fast...seems crazy to me that in all their testing, Zos never disabled addons
not trolling. not sarcasm. not satire. just an honest (and perhaps an unpopular) opinion: pvp just needs to be removed from eso. it is time, and honestly no one would be sad. pvp has too few players and zos doesnt support that side of the game with any features or additions. pvp players dont sub, they dont do housing, buy crates, etc which means zos cant make money off of those players. pvp players will just go to some other flavor of the month game and blow up reddit with a nerf list, and good riddance. all that comes out of pvp are those who cry about getting killed and then nice things are nerfed for pve. no matter what though, in EVERY game its always going to be the pve players vs pvp players. they will NEVER get along.
I absolutely hate ESO PVP. The variety of builds and gear sets is so open to exploitation that it's mind numbing the developers would have designed the game like this in the first place. The lag/abilites not firing is a complete joke. I have never spent so much time in a game trying to fire an ability on for it NOT to go off after 2-3 seconds. And I live 200 miles from the server I play on. There is no "counter play" in the traditional sense. You counter incoming damage, not specific abilities like in WOW or GW2 or FFXIV. You cant reliably predict what you are up against in any given encounter. There are more legit hackers in ESO than any MMORPG I have ever played. When you are running a complete troll defensive build with nothing but defensive gear and abilities, full impen, 50k health, 45k armor and get globaled by a werewolf in 2 seconds while spamming bone shield...ya, something is not quite right. I feel sorry for ESO PVPers...its like sticking around in a bad relationship. Its never going to get better, but you still come back looking for those golden years. It's all hope, and no commitment from zenimax.
pvp trash again thanks to the garbage sets only battlegrounds are a thing for me now ( I have no arena or mysthics) so it is pointless gor me in cyr and btw even with proc sets if you want to get the maximum out you need to play specific sets like 3-5 sets the rest is for the zerglings and free AP
Why don't you get the Mythics? They are fairly easy to acquire. You might need some luck here and there, but you'll eventually get it with a small amount of trying.

I'd just like the mention that there were cp bgs a while ago, and they sucked ass. Not worth it to add them back, even after the rework
What was broken about them? Too hard to kill people, too many tanks?
@@frankiecummins2277 People were not dying, which is a "problem" in nocp aswell today.
Wait I’m not supposed to knock that dude off his bike?

battlegrounds in a nutshell
Love your vids
@hunter what xD
Can’t disagree more about the proc sets.
😈
Yeah nice promotion for zos damage control. Procs are not balanced and random death, uncounterable bs on top of lag. No thanks... I'd rather just roll dice to see who wins. Build diversity with procs is a joke... yeah you have the meta proc builds to pick from but no-proc builds will alwats be sub par.
The sooner this game dies the better.
Don’t hold your breath, bc lots of people love the game. I do :D
That’s a good point.
Tons of crybabies in battlegrounds, if you're good expect to get tons of hate whispers
I'm sorry for everyone who will fight me in midyear mayham since I'm really bad at pvp xD
Nothing but REAL TALK 💯👑
People hiding bomb, people hiding group kill guy in back, 💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣pvp?
Yea everything was really dry without proc sets
People unfortunately take elder scrolls online to seriously mainly because of the fact that they have no other life beyond elder scrolls online.
The servers just need a complete overhaul. They are old at this point…
They announced new servers
Not old. They downgraded the hardware.
So tanky sets but "PvP" skills?
Working on stam/mag builds.
not trolling. not sarcasm. not satire. just an honest (and perhaps an unpopular) opinion:
pvp just needs to be removed from eso. it is time, and honestly no one would be sad.
pvp has too few players and zos doesnt support that side of the game with any features or additions.
pvp players dont sub, they dont do housing, buy crates, etc which means zos cant make money off of those players.
pvp players will just go to some other flavor of the month game and blow up reddit with a nerf list, and good riddance.
all that comes out of pvp are those who cry about getting killed and then nice things are nerfed for pve.
no matter what though, in EVERY game its always going to be the pve players vs pvp players. they will NEVER get along.
yeah I've found bgs are super toxic in comparison to cyrodil. Cyrodil people tend to want to help and group
6:50 lmao
There is only one way to fix the lag issue and it is to cut the population in a campaign in half and make more campaigns for people to join. Period.
@John Jenkins care to elaborate or just make baseless claims?
@John Jenkins no you just sound incredibly jaded. Maybe it's time you took a break and went outside.
Build diversity and the unpredictability. Got to have this if not eso is dead.
I wish I was good at PvP lol
Don't even play the game for pvp. LUL!
Totally agree the toxic clowns in this game especially pvp alot of fake kids in this game.
PvP is dead in eso.
Pick a meta class, get semi decent gear, go 1vX and never die. Balance does not exist.
dont play pvp because of lag.
🤣
pvp trash again thanks to the garbage sets only battlegrounds are a thing for me now ( I have no arena or mysthics) so it is pointless gor me in cyr and btw even with proc sets if you want to get the maximum out you need to play specific sets like 3-5 sets the rest is for the zerglings and free AP
Why don't you get the Mythics? They are fairly easy to acquire. You might need some luck here and there, but you'll eventually get it with a small amount of trying.
@@XYZ_55 because I hate pve it and I farmed the items on pc, but all my friends and I switched to xbox pve is boring in mmos I can not handle it I work 60h a week so I do not have much time to play
I don’t have a single mythic and I play cyrodil all the time
@@dagger7mouthpvp573 it works in some cases like NB specific builds for example
@@sekory88 I play a no cloak magblade , it’s the hardest class open world beside maybe magdk , what I’m trying to say is skill over sets
