Riley and Wellington representing JAAA shows where the problems lie. They are more interesting in calling people derogatory names than addressing the issues. I have more respect for Mr Francis than JAAA.
All three represent the JAAA Riley and Wellington were just responding to their names being mention by Francis not as officials of the committee and not authorized to name committee members
Transparency is a must, I’m not sure why people like Dr. Gregory is not apart of the selecting committee. That exactly what Tyquando Tracy was talking about
for a jaaa representative to come on national tv and disrespect one of our top or best athletic coach in the world, by calling the man an ass, is totally disrespectful, and he shouldn't be on that jaaa selecting committee.
Dr Gregory, I am a fan of yours from you were running at champs and onwards, however, in your capacity of a commentator, you need to add more than just clips of videos to your commentary, specifically this commentary.I have been waiting and watching for your deep insight, and knowledgeable response to this whole debacle, namely, the JAAA.
The two best coaches in the world called you guys and the JAAA out many times, Glen Mills and Steven Frances, so you are telling me they both are wrong? I am siding with the coaches
Aspiring politicians or commercial leaders should not be making athletics based decisions.. The attack response is evidence of poor management and people skills. It always seems like sabotage! This has been bubbling for years. I would suggest all athletes stand up for their careers and future progress in the sport. This is an embarrassment to the Jamaican legacy..
There is lack of transparency accountability and professionalism with the JAAA and it shows when there are problems they want to blame the coaches and athletes instead of accepting responsibility
Jamaican not qualifying? Jamaica faces challenges in the quality of leadership for their 4x4 relay team as the next Olympics approach. The lack of strong and visionary leadership is impacting the team's preparation and cohesion, critical elements for success in such a demanding event. Addressing this gap by fostering experienced and inspiring leaders will be essential for improving their prospects and maintaining Jamaica’s esteemed reputation in track and field.
Riley is very unprofessional and it just goes to show why the jaaa is heading in that direction he is angry and dispite his accolade on paper he is nowhere in frano class Keith is also arrogant
I know nothing about athletics administration/coaching, but I would be a fool to not understand EXACTLY what Mr. Francis CLEARLY and RIGHTFULLY was saying. I believe Mr. Riley had a pissing tail boy behavior...respectfully...
Jaaa is actibg as if they are running a ptivate club (members only) and wgat ecer decisiobs are made is either their way or no way Tgey are acting as if they di not report to anyone, they are their own boss The people of Janaica needs to know wgat is hapoening to our athletes especially in a championshil year
Riley is an excellent coach. Stephen must remember also that he was a high school coach.Riley can also step up to the senior level and do well as he is that good.I agree with Strphen that Mr Wellington should step down.He has too many things doing and should stick with ISSA duties.
Who Riley is going to step up and coach, please tell me who would have any semblance of talent am go to Riley and have the opportunity to be coach by Mills or Francis, please educate me, Am I missing something?
@delbertlewis6689 He's just talking. Success at the senior level is the hardest thing to do in athletics. Kids can literally be successful at the jnr level based upon talent.
@raymondgraham4165 You are a mad man. Franno and Mr. Mills are two of the greatest to have ever done it. Riley and you are overestimating his capabilities. He's not a senior level coach who can produce top-level talent results again and again.
I’ve alway felt the coach Riley does a poor job of acting intelligent. His interview serves as a prime example of that. Calling coach Francis an ass is his first response to someone that only called you out in your professional capacity?
An engineering degree means nothing in track and field. But this is how Jamaica measure expertise which is sad. No wonder we can’t move forward 🤷🏾♂️ An administration Degree is different from an engineering degree. Everything is a secret
My issue is do not single out anybody it is a selection team that made the decision not one or two individuals when you call names persons are going to defend their name
'Defend' how? If you are responsible for anything you are responsible. If you are not, you are not. You can take cerebral approaches instead of cussing.
These things are not happening just now. They have been happening as long as I can remember. Remember 2000 Olympics when the JAAA's decided to replace Peta-Gay Dowdie, the National Champion that year with Merlene Ottey in the women 100 meters. Remember the uproar and almost boycott by the athletes.
But...I am sorry. Mr. Riley is supposed to be an intelligent man...right? I wonder why he has so much problem to make a separation of issues and interpret the statements or circumstances for what they are. His answers are sometimes irrelevant to the point.
What does that have to do with anything? He tells the truth and you call that inconsistent, how? JAAAs then should pay the athletes a stipend for relays then, simple! Simple like you are.
What a ridiculous reposted. Just say that yiu don't like Franno. You were in a previous post saying that Riley is as competent at coaching professionals ad Mr Mills and Mr. Francis. You're a mad mad man.
Steven seems to have problems with college Athletes, the college athletes step up and did what had to do , I’m sure we can not find a professional team that is going to run faster
Unfortunate remark. I never expected this...respectfully...maybe because I don't know athletics. However, I heard both arguments and you are deliberately having a problem with differentiating separations of issues. It's bad if you want to reason well...and I guess you know. Just be fair...I think.
The big problem is this. Since the JAAA so not support the athletes financially, they always find it hard to pick teams for meets before or after traditional track season . In other words you make a team oe make yourself available for selection. Tbe JAAa unlike JFF cannot punish an athlete qho is not available as for major championships apots are earned
Yes athletes have to make themselves available, but without transparency how do we know which athletes were and were not available? Why should we just take JAAA’s word for it? We already know what happened with Tyquendo Tracey. He earned his spot and still wasn’t chosen. Instead they choose an athlete affiliated with their camp who never ran faster than Tracey.
@@runwithyaz I understand but what I am saying is for teams that are chosen before trials there has to be communication and negotiation. In April people can be injured, behind in training, or maybe not even training. Even if they had transparency. They can claim they invited me which is true. They can claim I said no. What they won't say is I told them I am injured or unfit, so they will control the PR narrative. As for Mr Tracey they are wasting their time. He may have hurt feelings but he broke no laws and he violated no rules. This is what Mr Francis is talking about, Schoolboy tactics, intimidation. Thankfully this is not football. If he runs at trials and does well he makes the tram
i think Mr Francis is correct and the teo other men didn't say anything regarding the dubject instead they are acting like Mr Francis is stupid. They're unimpressive
They are not answerable to anyone hence the repeatable despotic behavior. To attribute a world renowned coach as a asshole Mr. Riley is classless. Mr. Riley are the credentials of your assumed claim to fame. Pretty Dunce.
This seems to be a Jamaican problem. The JFF have it also. These organizations should take an attitude of leadership instead of managing the organization. When leading you tend to be more inclusive and open to listen to opinions other than your close colleagues. Jamaican’s management style sucks.
Dr Greg! You promote yourself as an expert in Track & Field, yet you brought no incite to this subject matter. All you did was replay what was on the Sportsmax zone program... A lot more than replays were expected.
In my opinion, Dr Greg brought insight to this. He helped me understand clearly that the real issues at the heart of this are transparency and accountability. I like that he shared those clips to back up his point of view. Thanks Dr Greg!
So Dr. Greg, with all due respect sir, how did you add value to this situation? You titled your video with a promise to shed some light, but all you did was replay a few videos without rendering a credible opinion of your own. (see lionheart8586 comments below). If you continue in this fashion, you will only ruin your credibility. Let me give you a few clues that you can build upon for your next video: It is a foregone conclusion that "everyone who knows and loves Jamaica athletics believes that the JAAA has zero credibility". Ricardo Chambers clearly made that point, repeatedly. David Riley's comments suggest that he does not know that the Jamaican public despises the JAAA, for very good reasons. For him to attack Mr. Francis's character when Mr. Francis (Who is highly regarded worldwide) only pointed out Riley's incompetence, is laughable. Riley's comments about Mr. Francis are more applicable to Mr. Riley himself, and the Jamaican public can easily see through him. The bottom line issue is money and the JAAA's continuous abuse of it. Riley and Wellington are only in it to steal funds belonging to the Jamaican athletes. So Mr. Francis diplomatically called for their removal (to halt their disingenuous conduct against the Jamaican athletes) without actually citing his bottom line reason. Mr. Francis is rightfully upset that he and other coaches work very hard to help the athletes achieve their potential, and the Athletes receive no meaningful financial support among other things, from the JAAA. So the JAAA's operation is counterproductive to the interest of the Jamaican athletes and coaches. The opposite of their intended purpose. With these in mind Dr. Gregg, you can use your platform to advocate for the Jamaican Athletes. It would be reasonable to call out the JAAA, as was done by Ricardo Chambers. If you and others know the truth but continue to dance around the real problem, why would the JAAA change their ways?
Stephen Francis is running his mouth too much right now. I don’t care how great he is as a coach he’s just annoying and he definitely on a huge ego trip. That’s my opinion.
With all respect..background music 👎. There are; original peoples and invader warriors and indigenous entities and psychological clan (tribal) war happenings in our tiny island affecting the whole diaspora why simple things cannot be solved easily. he should do the honorable thing and resign asap. What kind of an example is that to set for the Excelsior athletes he trains?
True
I totally agree. It’s amazing how we have allowed this to fly. David Riley is less than half of the man that Stephen Francis is
Riley's pronouncements were too personal, Francis never question his coaching ability.

Riley doubling down on his stupidity
Aspiring politicians or commercial leaders should not be making athletics based decisions..
The attack response is evidence of poor management and people skills.
It always seems like sabotage!

There is lack of transparency accountability and professionalism with the JAAA and it shows when there are problems they want to blame the coaches and athletes instead of accepting responsibility
There is a lack of transparency because they are embezzling the organization funds. This is why there is no transparency in any Jamaican organizations.
Too much secrecy.
Dem mussi a thief money and a bring who nuh qualify
How many world and Olympic medalists have David Riley coached for him to be telling Franno to go learn to coach?
Jamaican not qualifying? Jamaica faces challenges in the quality of leadership for their 4x4 relay team as the next Olympics approach. The lack of strong and visionary leadership is impacting the team's preparation and cohesion, critical elements for success in such a demanding event. People are now seeing why te JAAA decision-makig re:athlete selection is baffling
Jaaa is actibg as if they are running a ptivate club (members only) and wgat ecer decisiobs are made is either their way or no way
Tgey are acting as if they di not report to anyone, they are their own boss
The people of Janaica needs to know wgat is hapoening to our athletes especially in a championshil year
They are. It's virtually a KC old boys' club.
Definitely a secret fraternity club built on secrecy 💯

Oh, my goodness! I wanted someone to put it exactly this way. Thank you.
Not because he called you out, does not mean that you should call him names
An engineering degree means nothing in track and field. But this is how Jamaica measure expertise which is sad. No wonder we can’t move forward 🤷🏾♂️ An administration Degree is different from an engineering degree. Everything is a secret

Why not call every body name on the selection dont single out the two individuals.
The power brokers maybe?
JAAA and run jostle wid JFF, team selection policies and criteria is top secret like KFC recipe...smh
Power struggle with never si come si.
Is JAAA a secret society? Just wondering
Stephen is very inconsistent .He is the same one who is saying that athletes do not get renewal of contract from shoe company for running relays
Ricardo did a poor interview. He was afraid to ask Stephen certain questions.
Nonsense!!!!
Steven seems to have problems with college Athletes, the college athletes step up and did what had to do , I’m sure we can not find a professional team that is going to run faster

The bottom line is, there should be a committee for Junior with high school coaches and one for senior athletes with coaches for them only.
Why the music ..it is distracting
Great information such an eye opener.
He is right
Unnecessary background music

These men are too emotional to lead. They become spiteful when refuse to bend to their will. They also think they know it all
Dr Greg! You promote yourself as an expert in Track & Field, yet you brought no incite to this subject matter. All you did was replay what was on the Sportsmax zone program... A lot more than replays were expected.
I am going to do a live on it tomorrow with legendary Danny McFarlane

While I agree with most of what you are saying, that doesn't mean he's wrong in this instance and concerning this particular matter my friend.
If someone doesn’t speak up things will never change.
Nothing new, the great ones normally have that EGO. WE don't have a problem when its coming from a European though
The sports in jamaica is full of pure crabs.
With all respect..background music 👎.
