In this video I paint some watercolour backgrounds using a variety of my watercolour brands, but mostly ‪@beampaints2512‬ . We paint abstract shapes on watercolour paper and I show you some of my art journals and works in progress, including my "Art Poetry" painting "Windows of Hope". This is an example of a painting where you can use the background as a base and once it is dry, paint around shapes with a more opaque or contrasting paint medium.
I demonstrate mark making techniques while our background is still wet.
We pick a card from my "Art Poetry" card deck (link to shop below), and also from my 2024 Fodder collage calendar. I share a page from the book, "How to Be More Tree", and it relates to the Hornbeam tree and the theme of authenticity.

I am using Canson XL mixed media/watercolour paper , 140 lbs or 300 gsm.

12 Round Princeton watercolour brush or any brand and size watercolour brush.
Molotow , neon pink refillable paint pen.
