That was interesting news hearing about the Tesla car not recognizing the rear of the bike.

Pretty crazy, but not that different from what happens with people. Radar and lidar systems definitively measure distance so that sort of thing would have been avoided with another brand. The camera only system Tesla uses lures it into a potential scenario most human drivers face with misrecognition and ultimately fatal misjudgment.

Seems as though you have to be more of a defensive driver today. Even being in a car it seems as if drivers are playing on a video game. That only takes a quarter to play. Weather has felt good lately here. Seasonal riders will be back out.

A quick google search for a study about that disproved that. Look up the article "LOUD PIPES / University research into loud pipes “myth”". The combination of the sound insulation of the car and the sound pressure of the frequencies the car itself generates, including the 20 dB radio in the car, was greater than the noise of the motorcycle with RPM at the rev limiter while the motorcycle is only 10 meters away. The loudest of the six motorbikes could be heard only when it's so close that the driver doesn't have enough time to react to an imminent collision. Oh and this test didn't even factor in the effect of wind noise since the vehicles were not moving.

I switched out my H4 bulb for an H4 yellow one; I cant stand getting blinded by oncoming LED's...!
