Agreed. This is my favorite one in the trilogy also. The plot, mystery, suspense, characters, gameplay, and the entire game is a masterpiece. I love it so much that I recently bought all the games for my PS4.
@@matthewbuckley7757 when i was younger i found that the first game was the best because of the mysterious World and funny Gameplay. but yet i find the first game boring because its easy af and i know everything about it. Know my favourite Game is the Second one. I can play it so often and it never will be boring.
Might be an unpopular opinion but this game wasn't actually that difficult. I think the main reason it was is because theres little to no check points. If you fail a mission most the time you have to redo the entire thing.
Jak 2 ost will always be my favorite out of the 3 (not counting the others). Jak and Daxter ost: Light hearted adventure music Jak 2 ost: action oriented Jak 3 ost: end of the world
Why are people complaining about this The music was bad ass the game play was fun and actually challenging instead of making it too easy to play and it had a great story with great characters
My one and only complaint about this music is that it either was identical to the theme from the first Baron Praxis battle, or close enough that I couldn't tell the difference. However, of all the boss themes they could have reused/ripped off, I would call that the best choice in the game, and I really like the strings in the foreground of this one, so it's still a positive overall..
... that's not entirely true. The Precursor robot battle was noticeabley different from the non-battle theme at the top of the Citadel. Not "entirely" because they still recognisably used the same structure and were similar enough to each other that you could be forgiven for not noticing much different. In this case I care a lot less because you didn't get to hear ANY version of the theme until the final boss was starting anyway, so it still felt like getting an entirely new theme for the final battle, as opposed to suddenly getting the boss theme from the first boss you fought in the game.
+MaxBurnHeart but the mission with the turret on drill platform.... had to perform a difficult jetboard glitch to skip at least three-fourths of the mission.
Oh, right. That one. It's (very) hard, but that's why it gives the most satisfaction. :D I have no idea why many people think that mission in Water Slums is the hardest one, tho. For me, it always was easy as ****.
This is Naughty Dog's magnum opus. Jak 2 and Jak 3. Masterpieces. Forget romantic cliches in a zombie apocolypae and Gears of War with a climbing simulator attached, THIS is where it's at.
Well while I agree that Jak 2 is a very good game it certainly is not a perfect game(case in point the music you’re listening right now which is the final boss theme is not only used here but also in the first fight again Baron Praxis. The Final boss theme should be a theme exclusive to him and him only not a theme you heard at the beginning of the game in an another fight with a completely different character)
I tell everyone that asks me, Jak 2 and 3 are the best games I've personally ever played. I'm pissed because it feels like nobody played them but they're such amazing games.
The original version of Metal Kor in the link has more instruments compared to the midi version used ingame in this video: th-cam.com/video/mLTehmR9QDs/w-d-xo.html
this was actually my first game that i played in the franchise and it converted into the most memorable game in my life and childhood it also is the game that got me into the life of gaming
I've played the whole trilogy and its best games on the PS2 and PS3 I have played when it comes to weapon upgrades and missions. It shame they don't make games like this in 2016. I agree I don't know why people dislike this game it's really good. I don't think in our life time, game designers will ever make anything in comparison to this trilogy as it's that good. I've played all 3 three and it was a pleasure and honour completing all 3 of these games from start to finish.
Make delivery to Hip Hog Saloon I must have been stuck on that mission for 3 months in 2003. After that mission the game became a lot more easier. But yeah I see what you mean it can have that effect on the mind
lets not forget the Errol races that shit was truly hell inducing made me throw my controller a couple times when ever I lose when it came out back in 03
Did you guys know that a guy named Floordan is remaking Jak 2 using cryengine 3 and it looks freaking amazing. the co president found it and was really exited about it aswell so it could be a full remake.
Yeah I'm confused why people say this game is hard. I can only remember like one mission that's hard and that's the one where you fight all the red cops
@@OceanIgs Destroy the ship at the Drill Platform is where you have to blast all of the Krimzon Guards and it is the hardest mission in Jak II and racing Errol is much difficult than that.
“Finally, you've decided to join us and you brought the Precursor Stone. Good. The boy will now play his final part.” “Not this time!” “Oh, but this child is such a part of this! Such a part of you! Don't you recognize him? The boy is you, Jak! And this place... this is where you began, in the future!” “How is this possible...?” “You were hidden in the past on the hope that you would gain the skills to face me today, but Onin was wrong! Now that you've been altered with Dark Eco, the stone will never open for you. Your younger self, however, still has the pure gift! He alone can awaken the Stone and the Precursor entity, which sleeps inside!” “This stone is a Precursor?” “The last Precursor egg! Mar was clever. He covered his tracks well through time, hiding his last egg from me, and building the shield and city to defend it! It has been a long siege. But today, I will finally feed on the last Precursor Life Force!” “Uh, I think you're forgetting one little thing, Metalo-Maniac! We've got the Precursor Stone!” “Not for long!” ….. “DIE!!!”
For those wondering what made this game hard: 1. The mission where you had to fight the enormous amount of krimzon guards 2. The fact that you often times had to replay a whole mission if you died during any part of it 3. Most of the time limits in missions and challenges were very tight so you basically couldn't make a single mistake to complete them Those are the main reasons in my opinion. When I replayed it recently I didn't really struggle at any point but when I was a child/young teen I would oftentimes get very frustrated with a lot of sections.
I like boss theme for both Praxis and Kor are very similar to each other, which the give the feeling of both of them being major threats to the city with plans to see its end in one way or another.
Jak 2's 10th Anniversary is Today! Well...HAPPY 10TH ANNIVERSARY JAK 2! While not my favorite Jak game it's still my first Jak game! So happy birthday Jak 2!
@numbuh745 There's a slight variation in the two themes. Metal Kor has no breaks in it's music, but First Baron Praxis Battle has variations, such as breaks in the theme. Go look it up. You'll understand immediatly what I'm talking about.
Crazy thing is every time replay this game since I beat it for the first time in 2011, every play through after that I was able to beat Metal Kor on my first try, no joke. And I don't use that trick where you jump to the platform behind you and just shoot him non stop.
lol, yeah! This one also sounds like a heavily remixed version of the Jak and Daxter Soundtrack - Track 65 - Mountain Pass vs Klaww a.k.a the song that plays at the credits on Jak and Daxter: The precursor legacy.
God man... the nostalgia right now. When I finally killed him, I nearly pissed myself xD couldn't believe I'd FINALLY gotten the damn revenge I deserved against that prick!

This song is a big reason why this game kicks ass.
What!!! You re borring in the BEST option, but i think youre stupid...
"Wake up bro, it's 2004"
Imagine the concept of GTA and the Difficulty of Dark souls had a baby
But it was raised by Super Mario 64 and Shadow the Hedgehog
That's what Jak 2 is
if this is the level of difficulty dark souls has I can probably handle it
Mechaman5000 dark souls was fair. this game had moments of dickish design.
Racing Erol was a nightmare lol
Community Watch Even on Hero mode
This is my favorite game in the trilogy but damn the difficulty grabs you by the balls and never lets go.

Jak 2 the best, hardest, and most interesting of the trilogy. We need more Haven and metal heads.

And then fire again once you landed, because your the blaster mod will still be full auto for a brief second
Nah bro. Square, x, square (for headbump thing), circle, fire :D

you're forgetting the dive
square, x, circle, fire, square
for that extra bit of damage

They've been ported to PS5 including the beast of Jak X.
Maybe not remakes but remasters means there's still unforgettable hope.
All the music from Jak 2 was so subtle and yet it still had a big impact on the game.
Give me the Precursor Stone!
Not this time
i don't have your stone, and fuck you anyway

Jak 1. Calm and peaceful. Jak 2 00:00
WOW it's really been that long geez now i need to play it on my ps3
i find it ironic Metal Kor died like a insect. He tried to fly into the rings and instead got electrocuted then exploded.I wonder how that felt?

Sounds almost identical to when you battle Baron Praxis on his palace rooftop.
I think it is actually the same song...
THAT because It is The same song That was the first time u here This song when U Fight Baron
The only real difference is about 30 seconds in, but other than that they are essentially the same track.
They the same song that's why
Really, no proper final boss theme?
Man I remember playing this game back when I was little and raging so fucking much
This also plays when you fight the Baron for the first time
this song plays on most bosses on jak 2 and 3 but with different remix
And while you're shooting down the Krimzon Guard armed tanker ship at the Drill Platform from the Gunpod on rails.
If you listen closely, you can almost make out Klaww's fight theme in certain parts of the song.
They use parts of soundtracks from the earlier Games i think
Jak 3 Final Boss Music is almost indentically to this theme
Epic + badass music!!!

The best final boss theme in history
imagine jak and sora from kingdomhearts team up in a fight vs xenmas and kor . lol jak with a keyblade and sora with a machine gun double lol
I swear this also plays while you battle the Baron at the Palace.
Kor, Praxis, two metal heads and two crimson guards.
That Damned Ugly Blue Scorpion Thing
It's weird but fitting that they use this same theme except more orchestral as the final boss for Jak3 against Erol too.
fantastic

no worries on the comment length and that IS a great point you have, though I still personally like Jak II's soundtrack alot.
Actually it's First Baron Praxis Battle. That's the one you heard
Didn't this play when you were gunning down a.....what was that again? You know, the one at the drill platform or wherever it was.
