compression testing on each cylinder and seeing that V8 creep up closer upon each cylinder test was amazing LOL ! cant wait for the next episode, keep up the great work man
They’re doing the compression testing and I’m like hold up why is there a ls engine. Rewinded it and saw it got closer and closer with each cylinder they did. That was amazing. Loving the content bro keep it up 💪🏻🫡
I didn’t know what the ending would be but when the LS popped in the video I knew where it was headed!😂😂 another banger video like usual and we got 2 in 1 week!💥💥💪💪💪
Hey Jake, came from your comment on Mats channel and binged the series so far! Its great I used to have an n54 335i and this brings back some good(...and bad) memories!
Aye Jake been keeping up with the series! Good to see it back to life! I have a rebuilt m235i also due to flood and it’s been great, had it 2 years but I’m looking to sell it. If your interested or one of your buddy’s or something let me know! 15’ 70k miles estoril blue fbo no tune straight piped
I know we should’ve completely drained it, then refilled it while at operating temp. But we just wanted to drive it around the block. I think it’s got more issues than the fluid unfortunately.
@@emilsosnowski That car has a 6hp, which takes red fluid. and it's not as specific as you think. You dont HAVE to warm the transmission up and shift through gears for a general top off. That's only necessary when it's been drained fully.
If you guys don’t have a down pipe it’s not gonna run right transmission fluid has to be the exact one for bmw and I would recommend doing the service with the transmission filter and putting a catless down pipe full tune up and a mhd tune you should be getting her ready to run great
There’s gotta be something. Maybe a bad wire somewhere else, bad fuse, maybe the dme just isn’t good. It would be cool to tune it and see what happens😂
Jake i hope that was zf approved transmission fluid if not you just screwed the transmission. The problem with the boost you need to check all the boost pipes the plastic factory ones are known to crack thus cause boost issues check for hairline cracks and last of all get ista d for doing your fault finding i have several obd scanners and i always seem to go back to ista d for bmw it may be slower but it does the job cheers from down under
I'm all for engine swaps but I would try to preserve it, its impossible to find an 135i with such low mileage now indays! basically a brand new car still lol
I like most people I would assume would also want to preserve the car. That being said this car definitely has its fair share of issues. Both electrically, mechanically and cosmetically. It might be hard to tell in the vids but the car isn’t perfect. It has really good bones and its heart will live on in the OG 135! Cost to get this car to its former original glory would easily exceed it’s value. Thats why I and I think Jake feels the same way, this would be a better car to use as a “race” car/swap candidate.
Yes ls swap the 1 series! So much cooler than the sedan. 🔥😊 I just got a 4.8 ls e36 with twin turbos. Going to eventually remove em for a supercharger so I can have AC.
Wow this was fun to watch and the ls engine part was unexpected in this video! Can't wait to see more of this build 👏👏 Also, please I hope you do step by step of how to ls swap the e82 🙏
I know you need a new engine for your mister bad ass e82. You might as well try the ls swap on the new 💩. Just as a heads up. You will still have body electrical issues even after the ls swap. So you most likely will be making another race car. But keep it up. I enjoy watching your journey. P.s. your videos are getting better 👍
Thanks man! I appreciate that. I’ve definitely thought the same thing, but I’m willing to sort out some issues after the LS swap. Even gut it and wire up a switch panel for stuff if needed 😂
@@jake_spence TBH. I think this is really the wrong course of action. You would just be introducing another set of variables into a system that is already unstable. I think it would be more prudent to sort out the electrical/CAN bus issues first. That way the swap will be easy and you won't be wondering if the engine swap is contributing to more issues.
I know you’re just trying to get the car moving but thats not the not the correct transmission fluid, advanced auto sells the oe German transmission fluid. Same with coolant dump that’s Walmart crap it’ll ruin your water pump.
Just did some research on the zf8 and im not certain that it would be up for the task of what he has planned for the LS. The combo he wants to put together should be capable of 850+ rwhp. Thats over 1k at the crank!!
Haha, glad you liked it bro! Like Derek said, I’ve got a budget combo in mind… but I’m definitely still gonna do some research. The 11k mile engine is gonna go into my OG 135i tho for sure 😉
Impressive troubleshooting skills and I can see why you tried so hard to get it running properly but why spend the time to swap it when you have no title? Can't ever be driven on the street legally.
*Smash the 'like' button if you watched 'til the end and enjoyed our little skit* 😉😂
Quick question where can I get the protools software cheers

@@shiremotorsport1351 you can find it on the App Store, just search BimmerGeeks ProTool
@@MENACE6 thanks man! I’m excited too 🤘🏼
If a beemer isn't running right, just LS swap it, that should fix it !
That was hilarious guys, can't wait for the upcoming videos :D
Haha, glad you’re on the same page 😂 thanks for watching man!
@@jake_spence Please do not do that! Do a manual swap instead.
The slow pan to the LS1 engine while they're talking had me dying. 🤣
I had to do it 😂😂
Yeah the LS1 engine started hearing the compression testing and started to lurk closer each time.
compression testing on each cylinder and seeing that V8 creep up closer upon each cylinder test was amazing LOL ! cant wait for the next episode, keep up the great work man
Did you do a final transmission fill at 35-45c ? If you didn't then it's probably still low.
They forgot, thats the issue!
I think this may be a good niche bro. Last few vids on this car are blowing up 🔥🔥🔥
I’m hoping so too! Thanks for watching man, you’re helping em blow up 📈
Yea baby I knew this was supposed to be the LS car lol. But hey you've also got a good N54 for the drag car!
Awesome videos, that channel is gonna get some serious upgrade in subscribers!
You deserve it 👏
Wish you good luck from Italy 🇮🇹

Such a good video man, I love what you’re doing with this series!
Jake this channel is just getting better with every video! The ending was hilarious!
Thank you Chad! Glad to hear the extra effort is paying off. Thanks for following along 👍🏼
SO AWESOME watching you guys trying to sort this thing! Oh and I've never seen limp mode stop the car from shifting.
love that ending! hilarious. excited to see the LS 135 build!
Glad to hear that man! Definitely some people who aren’t happy about it, but I’m excited for those who are. I’m ready to keep growing the channel.

just do it right, the n54 healthy as can be, fix her up
She’s gonna be the perfect donor engine for my other 135i 😉 she’s gonna go to good use

You got the right idea. Out with the n54, LS swap that thing. Get 1/2 way there for a set of new injectors

That’s not the correct fluid / fill procedure. That’s likely why it’s not shifting
This. The 8hp trans is sensitive to fluid that goes in and has a very specific full procedure. Get that red ATF out of there ASAP.
This has a 6hp trans

That was Derek’s idea 😂
nooo don't swap it, go for the problems and make it work ! :)
love these kind of videos
I saw a comment of yours on Matt's channel and decided to click. Not disappointed. Keep it up!
“No blinkers” “eh it’s a BMW you don’t need those” 😂😂😂
Im shocked bmw even offers them when you buy the car new 🤣
You have to fill the trans with running engine… and top i up again around 35 deg celcuis… :) could help with the trans working better :)

Dude you destroyed that transmission... ZF transmission are really sensative to fluid
I think the flood took plenty good care of that transmission lol
youre right, the transmission needs the right fluid
You have to fill the transmission while engine is running

That oohh baby! got me🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That’s was the best deal on a low mile n54 probably ever.
