Andys playing on love is alive is just freakin magic! And everything else!
I met Andy in 2006 and asked him specifically whether he played quarter notes or a shuffle on Nobody Told Me. Andy replied " I cant remember ". He was very direct and adamant, Interesting that now after all these years he now remembers

Liberty DeVito made some of Billy Joel’s songs famous. They wouldn’t have been the same.

Ocean Rain from Echo and the bunnymen shows us exactly what brushes and ( only brushes ,the whole album) can do on a rock record, a really beautiful one at that.

I’m guessing a Ludwig snare, since it was the great Nick Mason.
I think you're correct!? Given the link between Nick Mason and Ludwig at that time. Its very interesting that Andy got the gig on Two Sun's in The Sunset on Pink Floyd's, Final Cut album... as Jim Gordon did with You're So Vein by Carly Simon??
