    I met Andy in 2006 and asked him specifically whether he played quarter notes or a shuffle on Nobody Told Me. Andy replied " I cant remember ". He was very direct and adamant, Interesting that now after all these years he now remembers

    Andy!!! You are so talented and a wonderful person. Hello from your friend in nyc. Good memories of times with you. I met you when you worked on the David Brenner show with the Legendary Billy Preston! You introduced me to Eric Clapton , and Bryan Adam’s. We went to dinner with Eric Clapton. You are so loved by the biggest and the best. Glad you are a contributing musician. You are So special!!!
    Liberty DeVito made some of Billy Joel’s songs famous. They wouldn’t have been the same.
    I ve been running a listening room for original music at an arts center. Café Artiste since 2017. Love to see you again some day.
    Love the re evaluation of what you did. So informative. All Drummers could learn so much from you !

      I had the same thought about Love is Alive. It was a big deep pocket and clean.

    Andy's amazing value, brilliant interview John.
    I'm a former student of Andy and he's an even more a beautiful human than he is a drummer.

    Ocean Rain from Echo and the bunnymen shows us exactly what brushes and ( only brushes ,the whole album) can do on a rock record, a really beautiful one at that.
    They had a great engineer as I'm sure that helped.

    One of my favorite drummers, for sure. I would have to add 'More Than This' - Roxy Music as my favorite Andy track

    Thanks again John, for this great compilation of songs featuring Andy on them. Love his time and space! Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that Andy on David Gilmour's title track from 'On an Island' as well?

    Do you know what snare drum was used in the recording of Pink Floyd Dark side of the moon

    • @livefrommydrumroom
      @livefrommydrumroom  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’m guessing a Ludwig snare, since it was the great Nick Mason.

    • @jemmace2586
      @jemmace2586 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think you're correct!? Given the link between Nick Mason and Ludwig at that time. Its very interesting that Andy got the gig on Two Sun's in The Sunset on Pink Floyd's, Final Cut album... as Jim Gordon did with You're So Vein by Carly Simon??
      Thanks for the great videos and content from the very best drummer's around. Subscribed!! 👍
