Been using a solar fence controller hooked up directly to galvanized wire on the legs of my feeder for about 4-5 years now. Pull up into a tree. Cures varmit problems as well as Bear problems. On touch to the ground and live wire and they split real fast. Thank GOD no hook problems where I’m at. Good video.

    That's an excellent idea.
I might get that setup to try around one of my gardens this spring.
I have a problem with groundhogs here in southwestern Pennsylvania. They destroy my lettuce, cabbage, cauliflower and even my tomatoes.
I may even get one for around my peach and plum trees. If I'm at work or sleeping when a storm hits and knocks down the fruit, forget it.
It's gone in a few hours. I ONLY got 2 peaches for myself this year. This was the first real season for my 10 year old tree. The peaches were the size of softballs.
I know, you're thinking 10 years old, it's almost dead, it's ancient. But no, it's a young tree. The parent tree is in great condition and is 27 years old.
Luckily for me, I got almost 2 dozen seeds from it this year. Going to plant a small orchard with them.
I love your videos Daniel. Keep up with the great work.

It’s time for a night time hog reduction program, with the price of IR scopes and there improvements, it’s a very effective way to take hogs off your property. And sense Oklahoma allow the use of a NFA item on private property providing the owner is in compliance with all of the NFA requirements to own the item. With the addition of sub sonic ammunition it’s a incredible effective method

    • @idahomike100
      @idahomike100 5 ปีที่แล้ว

I think one shot and they would all run off. Most effective way around here is those traps that raise up and drop down trapping the hogs. People dont understand how fast they reproduce, ive been told one sow and its off spring can produce around 400 hogs every 12 months,
So take even just 200 sowes, x 400 thats 80,000 hogs out there in a small area causeing extensive damage to the enviroment and farmers crops

    Daniel, Great idea and setup!
I wouldn't worry about fence height. In the rain water catchment tanks out here F&G and volunteer groups actually fence the catchments in with T post 4 wire 4' fencing to keep the free range cattle out. They can suck up water in the desert! Critters that jump or crawl can still get in and the deer have no problems hopping it and getting to the water.
I've witnessed a whitetail 'flying', clearing a 6' chain link with slanted 3 row barb at the top at a government installation perimeter fence. It was poetry in motion!
If deer can't see top wire on the Premier or thinking it's a branch and bust thru it and get tangled?... Might run a rope or something on top wire so they just think it's an obstacle and jump it?... Soak a little corn to give it an extra scent distance luring incentive for deer smelling it if leery of the fence?
Yea, as others have commented, charger needs to be inside the fence especially with frustrated hungry pigs around... They'll root it up just for the heck of it in frustration smelling that corn and can't get to it.
The cameras will tell the whole story, pro and con... Anticipating in seeing the video.
Study any animal and find their weaknesses and strengths and capitalize on it!

My grandpas electric fence he used to keep his hogs in was just a wire from an outlet in his workshop that ran to a light bulb outside then switched to a bare copper wire that went around the perimeter of the pen. If anything that was grounded (like a pig standing on the ground) touched it they completed the circuit and got a 120 volt 20 amp blast. The light bulb was so he knew if the grass was getting too tall and was leaning on the wire. If it was lit something was completing the circuit and if there wasn't a pig screaming, it was time to mow the field.

Would it help to set the timer Ahead 30 Min. each night to feed the deer/hogs until you reach the desired time for you to come out & hunt? The animals have been condition to feed during certain times of the night. This would slowly allow the deer/hogs to get adjusted to the new later time to graze. Then, too, we have time change this Sunday, NOV. 3rd.
