You guys had such a well-thought-out trailer and then You Totally Screwed the Pooch by NOT having a door for the bathroom. The wife flatly said she will NOT take a dump behind only a shower curtain. If you guys ever correct this brain fart mistake we will be very interested in buying this camper!!!
I'll pass it along Thomas, the original prototype had a door but was changed due to feedback. The door had to be very small and the curtain allows easier use of the bathroom/shower area.
I'll let them know. The original prototype had a door, but they moved to the curtain based on feedback due to the limited access based on the size door that would fit.
Hints for the walk thru. Ditch the annoying background noise. Makes it hard to hear what he's saying. Open the fridge & upper hatches. People want to see inside stuff! Thank you.
I wanna see the axle and suspension / frame work I missed the total weight and toung weight / tires are important and total price / warranty and is white the only color?
There is no need for underscore during instruction videos. It's distracting. I often cannot listen to the end. Do professors and teachers play music during their lectures?
He did great, if you want to see the above storage (which is obvious)or the inside of the fridge (normal fridge), contact him. He sells them he’s not a public broadcast system. Bet he sells a ton of them. (I’m in sales myself) - EXCELLENT INITIAL WALKTHROUGH
Shower curtain should be replaced with a nautilus door and the blinds/screens on the windows should be reversed so that you can have screen on the top and blind drawn half-way up for some privacy yet still get some light from outside. Otherwise very nice. Love the little seating area! I would leave the bed made up and eat there (I’m solo.)
They are working on an official testing but the unit does great in cold weather. The water tank and lines are inside so the heater helps there and there is a air barrier created by the inner and outer fiberglass shell. We will get a video of the bed conversion up - hopefully next week.
I love this. I like to cook when I camp and the stove/oven is perfect and hard to find in small trailers! There are three things I would change, 1) door on the shower/bathroom is a must. 2) the entry closet needs a larger door & should include a rod for clothing. 3) The kitchen counter needs a flip up flush extension. Are the benches long enough to use them as a single bed? Otherwise, this is perfect, IMHO.
Thanks. As to your changes: The original version had a door for the bathroom but the size door for the space was pretty tight. Having seen it both ways, I prefer the easier access and space of the curtain in exchange of a little less separation. I'm not sure you can get much larger door to fit but the closet rod shouldn't be a problem. I'll pass along the flip up extension comment.
Real nice unit! Nothing to rot or get moldy. No seams on the roof to leak. Stove with an oven. Perfect little beach rig. BUT NO BATHROOM DOOR??? When they add a bathroom door they can take my money.
Thanks for the feedback. The original prototype had a door but was changed due to feedback. The door had to be very small and the curtain allows easier use of the bathroom/shower area. If you are ready, let us know and we can see if they will do a special build with the old door design!
Great to see another fiberglass option in the market. Not sure I like open bath concept and the dinette with one seat is odd. Really like 12V fridge and windows and while not sure I’d use it good to see oven as well. I do have an Oliver and there is nothing like fiberglass. Website shows truck camper as future model- hope that is true.
Thanks for the comments. I think the bath has grown on me vs the original marine door option that Cortes used. Definitely understand the question about the dinette. Currently we see a folding chair as an option that allows the space in front of the door to be used for the second seat. I'm not sure what I'd be willing to give up to make room for a second built in seat.
@@MillersRV can you pls tell me ballpark price of a model like this with these options? But also I don’t understand the built in dinette.. seems like they put so much thought into versatility, then plopped an odd immovable single use thing ppl may or may not like, right in the doorway, I’d rather use that space for a full pantry. Could have a drop down table from the pantry door, & we figure out our own seating.. there is already seating at the larger table… incidentally I’m in the camp I think where I’d prefer a bed that just stays a bed, with storage underneath & a pull out table top, storage benches either side that serve as chairs, storage, & a place to set more stuff when needed while not feeling cluttered. Even still- these are very intriguing.
There was one on the prototype but it really made for a small space and was a small door. IF you are ready to move forward I can certainly approach them to see if we can get one of the original doors.
@@MillersRV Hmmm. Interesting. Though I'm confused as to how the door reduces the space. It's not like people will use the doorway to shower in. And if it's an issue having the door swing out, maybe try a sliding door or an accordion door? I dunno, if they seem okay suggesting customers use a folding chair at the small dinette (which definitely takes up space) surely they could have made a door work. I think this trailer is amazing all around but the missing bathroom door is a big head scratcher to me. It's such a big oversight for an otherwise stellar job on a version 1 trailer.
I love the battery setup but otherwise it is no better than the Casita I have had for 6 years. If I were to buy a similar sized trailer again (if my Casita EVER wears out) I would get an Oliver Elite 1 which appears to be very well built. That said both it and this Cortes look like autopsy rooms and you can hear the echo in of the presenter's voice from the smooth walls. My Casita is very quiet. All are quite nice campers.
Casita is a good unit but I really prefer the look of the fiberglass over the carpeted walls/ceiling. Also a lot easier to clean and no allergy issues. We'd love the opportunity to show you some of the differences.
@@wengere That’s because this is a double walled fiberglass trailer. The Casita is just single walled. BIG, BIG difference there in both insulating properties and durability. Oliver owners know what I’m talking about.
@@dcd6115 Yes, that's a huge improvement over a single wall design like Casita and Scamp but that's really only a benefit for those that need a true four season camper. At this price point you'd almost be a fool not to buy an Oliver. Definitely in the Oliver range but many improvements to what Oliver does. Just for starters they use a heavier gauge fiberglass for a sturdier structure. The 4 piece shell ( 2 inside, 2 outside) really creates a tremendous foundation that has no wood anywhere in the construction. Several of our competition still use wood backers and wood in the floor. We'd love to discuss further with you, give us a call and ask for Rhett, Cam or David - 225-275-2940.
Glad to see you answer all questions here. I'd like to know how tall you are and what is the ceiling height. Would like to see in the bathroom more than the video showed.

Depends what one's looking for. If double bed is all ya want, then this is it. Like a lot of this though, just wish they had a layout for a couple kids to sleep too! Maybe a way to fit in a couple temp hanging bunks at night or something?
If the latches are in the open position will the doors fall down or stay closer. I like how secure they for traveling but I wouldn’t want to undo two latches everytime I wanted into a cabinet so I would prefer if I could leave them “unlocked” when parked
Good question. I just went out and tried it. There is a slight angle to the cabinet so the doors will not stay open. BUT I have a couple ideas that we could do to have them work like you are suggesting. Give us a call and we can discuss if your are ready to try it out!
I'd recommend the Jack-It by Lippert which mounts 2 bikes above the propane bottles. It's a great option that doesn't add any length and allows you to see it while towing.

It's nice that they thought about where people would put clothes. It seems like that is the most common thing that gets left out of travel trailers. I've been living in a 17 foot travel trailer full time for a while now and this would make a great trailer minus the oven and microwave. I think those things look good in the dealership, but you never actually use them.

I am impressed with what they have done here, in a sense it's a more modern Scamp or Casita. That said, the lack of a true bathroom door is a major fail and the single seat dinette with no access underneath sucks hard. I love the complete fiberglass construction, marine grade latches, doors, compartments, etc., and the window choice is a breath of fresh air, huge win there. If they make some small changes to the layout and features I can see these taking over sales from Casita and Scamp and this is coming from a Casita owner.
18 ft length would have provided a queen bed. A twin bed stopped us from buying one. Plus the total lack of kitchen counterspace is a minus. Maybe Cortes could reduce the fridge size and open up the kitchen some.
We could order one without if you would like. One of the things we really like about the Cortes vs other similar units is they include all the features and don't nickel and dime you to death.
We have 5 units in stock but there is usually a couple month lead to order one. You can see our inventory here (millersrv.com/inventory/?keyword=cortes&quickSearch=true)
@@MillersRV all molded fiberglass campers are built to last . We have a 73 lovebug/boler and 98 casita still used regularly.. our casita 20k miles last year For what it’s worth we saw a Cortez in person this week in Grapvine Texas .. blue with a blue truck.. wasn’t able to see the inside of it ..
The following is an opinion I posted on EP after walking through this trailer. This trailer is by no means as well built as an Oliver but an Oliver is 60+K right? I assume the Oliver does use wood in thier build which is likely why it's 1,000 lbs heavier. So Cortes has that over the Oliver. Not to be to critical but when rv sales guys call small trailers a "couch " it sounds " used car salesmen ie " to me but I am wierd. My post: Well looks like the Cortes did make it to market. I walked through one at a dealer in TX I will say it has kind of a cool vibe about it. It is smaller and a pavement princess for sure. It does have timbrens but I do not believe they are the 3500HD. Ground clearance is very low. It was listed on thier website that it has an aluminum chassis last year but it looks like that changed to steel to me. If your in this market for 48k I would probably also look at a Castila or escape. Thier website says its under 8 feet tall with out ac. It does have drop 4 timbrens so that's possible but I did not measure so verify that if you want to garage at 8ft. 4 season capable I would do a deep dive into that. If you can verify these specs and need to garage and want 4 season capability and only have 3,500 pound towing capacity this maybe worth a look
Hi Bart, thanks for your comments. If there are specific questions you'd like me to find our please let me know. One clarification is that they did switch to a steel frame. The supply of aluminum chassis was definitely hindering production and the weight savings was close enough that they felt it was worth the switch. I can check on the specific model of timbres if you'd like.
Nice. The fiberglass shell really minimizes the chance of leaks and the all fiberglass construction means no harm if one ever develops. There is limited room for solar panels, but I think you could add more solar with some portable panels and keep the larger roof AC.
Nice..Love all the White. Beats looking at those Cheap Wood Cabinets like the Casitas. Needs a Counter Extender and move the Microwave lower and the Refrigerator up Higher with a Bottom Freezer with a Nova Kool compressor Refrigerator, 12 Volt. Hate getting on our knees to get Salad Fixings from the Crisper at floor level. Not quite there yet but it is beautiful. Fiberglass is much better in the Hail. (Hail is Kryptonite and will ruin your Aluminum Trailers”!)
You mention at the end that this can be a TRUE DRY BATH! How? The dry bath is a MUST for me and i have been very disappointed that most ALL of the small fiberglass trailers are wet bath!
We are about to release a video showing a roll up shower door we added to the bathroom instead of a curtain. We are really excited about this upgrade and I believe that is what Rhett was referring to. It doesn't make it a true dry bath but it does improve the bathroom.
We actually have a really cool "fix" where we added a nautilus shower door to the cortes. It is a really neat way to kind of address that. I'll try to find some footage of it and send to you.
there is carpet/headliner inside the front storage area.................. if they would back coat it during construction they would not need to line it with the rat fur headliner.
One of the biggest things I like about the Cortez over Scamp or Casita is the double shell design which eliminates the carpet on the inside walls. That being said the closet area is currently formed of the space between the shells. I will pass along that you'd rather the closet also be molded in and see if that might be possible in future models.
Our TH-cam videos stay up way longer than we can guarantee prices so we don't post them here, but current prices are available on our website. millersrv.com/inventory/?keyword=cortes&quickSearch=true
beautiful trailer...a lot of thought went into this..BUT why is there no door to the bathroom?? They forgot that??? you pull the curtain if not showering when you have to go? That seems a little tacky compared to rest of trailer IMHO. Also, $60K for a TT is a lot of $$$$$$
The original version did have a shower door but the size of the door for the available space made it a tight squeeze. Having seen it both ways, I prefer the curtain to the door, even with slightly less privacy. There is definitely a difference in cost of construction, but this is a unit that will last decades longer than a traditionally constructed trailer!
Why, Why youtube reviews never mention price, I know price changes, but you can mention, this camper today(mention date) at this location sells for $xx,xxx, that's all it takes.
Hi Dean, we try to keep pricing off the TH-cam videos because they stay relevant longer than the price does. However we keep current prices on our website - millersrv.com. Here is the link to that specific unit with a current price. millersrv.com/inventory/travel+trailers/2022-cortes+campers-17-ft+travel+trailer+-+single+axle-baton+rouge-la-633330ae130e593737011a92/
If they posted the price in the review, then people would not go to their website, which they want you do to. Sort of like when you look at a catalog, and under the price, it says "CALL". If they post the price they will run people off.
It's a shame no solar panels on the roof or charging the batteries as you drive along ..I reckon the batteries won't last long eg a week off grid. How much water does it hold for showers etc
While you are driving the alternator will add far more than a solar package will. The reason not to make it standard is that many customers still use a trailer in a traditional setting and solar doesn't benefit them. For customers interested in solar, lithium or other off the grid packages we have several upgrade options available for you!
It has everything you need And it would be better if you add to it third window screen like sheet metal so no body through at you bricks when you go to sleep that give you more safety feeling
As a single traveler i could almost find this dueable except for one little item i didnt see where a tv could hang and if so if siiting at table could i still see the tv. I dont think so. Now if someone gave it to me free now thats another story.
Price??? Weight??? It’s very helpful to know these things…..the trailer is no good if it weighs more than my vehicle con tow….or if it’s out of my price range
The dry weight is 2,680 lbs. We don't list price on TH-cam because these videos remain current longer than we can guarantee a price but you can see all our pricing on our website, millersrv.com. millersrv.com/inventory/?keyword=cortes&quickSearch=true
The Oliver is a very nice unit, but I think we give them a run for their money AND with a dealer network it is a lot more convenient to purchase and service!
Perhaps a small window in the bathroom so you can detach the shower head with long cord and pass it through the window for outside showers etc. the window will also help since the toilet is in there. 🫢

Entirely too much white! The least they could have done was paint the inside part of the front of the cabinet (hatch) doors something other than white--or the lip going around the doors--to provide some contrast. Even the cushions don't provide much contrast at all. The inside looks very sterile and clinical to me---a definite turn off. Maybe that's something y'all could offer to do for buyers. You know---"This season's special.....we will add some color to the inside of your camper at no extra charge!!" It could make a difference in how many units you sell.

If they make some small changes to the layout and features I can see these taking over sales from Casita and Scamp and this is coming from a Casita owner.
Thanks for the feedback. We do offer an upgrade for the shower. We add a Nautilus shower door to serve as the bathroom door.
Any screens for the windows???
Yes! Each window has a screen and shade that are built into the frame.
Wish the shades were flipped.
If that's all, let us know. We might be able to swap them.
Xlnt unit. Xlnt presentation
Thanks!
Do they have a twin bed model?
Other floorplans are in the works
Tank sizes?
Fresh Water 21 Gallon
Grey Water 13 Gallon
Black Water 16 Gallon
18 ft length would have provided a queen bed. A twin bed stopped us from buying one. Plus the total lack of kitchen counterspace is a minus. Maybe Cortes could reduce the fridge size and open up the kitchen some.
Thanks for the feedback. There are more floorplans in the works.
I recommend spending ten bucks for a mic windscreen which will make your videos far more professional and watchable.
Thanks, we've tried a couple options with and without windscreens. Always looking to improve the quality.
Was that water damage where the hot and cold pipes were in that closet?
Nope, just a shadow. Besides, remember that there is no wood in this unit! Even if it leaked it wouldn't do any damage to the fiberglass construction!
Can you custom order one without an A/C or microwave?
We could order one without if you would like. One of the things we really like about the Cortes vs other similar units is they include all the features and don't nickel and dime you to death.
How will this hold up in a lightning storm and what if lightning strikes it?
I suppose the same as a boat? Or like any other trailer since you have rubber touching the ground. Try it out and let us know lol
Nice
Very nice!
WHAT'S THE WEIGHT' AND THE MSRP, PLEASE.
$61,478 MSRP and dry weight is 2,650 lbs
Is there a waiting list when you order 1? Also does a customer have a option to get a curtain or something to pull for privacy when sleeping?
We have 5 units in stock but there is usually a couple month lead to order one. You can see our inventory here (millersrv.com/inventory/?keyword=cortes&quickSearch=true)
Where is your dealership located?
We are in Baton Rouge, Louisiana - roughly an hour north of the New Orleans airport!
Nice camper...
Thanks 👍
No retractable lighted awning?
There isn't currently an option for an awning but it is something we could possibly do here at the dealership.
really nice but how much are they??
$48k. A lot of money for all that marine grade stuff.
The construction definitely drives the price but this is a unit that will last far longer than a traditionally constructed unit!
@@MillersRV all molded fiberglass campers are built to last . We have a 73 lovebug/boler and 98 casita still used regularly.. our casita 20k miles last year
For what it’s worth we saw a Cortez in person this week in Grapvine Texas .. blue with a blue truck.. wasn’t able to see the inside of it ..
Can you get a cassette toilet and get rid of the black tank
That isn't an option at this point.
My post:
Well looks like the Cortes did make it to market. I walked through one at a dealer in TX
I will say it has kind of a cool vibe about it.
My future trailer will be fiberglass, unobstructed roof ( vents on the side of the trailer and AC at front or back) all solar on top
Great points! Come by for an in person look!
The bathroom is also amazing. What is the weight?
Thanks NicK, we think the bathroom is great too. The dry weight is 2,680 lbs which means many cars can tow this with ease!
Looks like a casita ,how about the price?
Check out our website for the most up to date pricing! www.millersrv.com
How much does it weigh? and a better look at the shower/toilet would have been good,
GVWR is 3500. Thanks for the feedback. Check our website for more detailed pictures of that area.
No screens?
Screens and shades are built into the window frames on all the units!!!
Love everything except has no shower door😢
When they come out with two twin beds I'll get one. That makes it easier to climb out of bed for you and your spouse.
There is a 22' model that is in the works that will have twin beds.
www.cortescampers.com/cortes-22
I'm terrified to look at the price.
Is this a spooky season joke?
How much does it weight?
Under 2,500 lbs!
I would like to know how much are they$?
Our TH-cam videos stay up way longer than we can guarantee prices so we don't post them here, but current prices are available on our website. millersrv.com/inventory/?keyword=cortes&quickSearch=true
Good Lord is that a stark interior. No thanks.
Thanks for your input.
beautiful trailer...a lot of thought went into this..BUT why is there no door to the bathroom??
What about a blank.tank flush?
Hi Tim, the unit does not have a black tank flush but it is certainly something we can look at adding if you'd like that feature.
Seems to me having necessary gauges overhead beside the cooktop seems like a greasy failure waiting happen….but looks like a great camper….
Haven't seen any issues but I can pass this along to them.
I am madly in love
Think of how much more you'd love camping in it!

Where are the window screens???
Thanks for the question Russell, the window screens and blinds are built into the frames, they slide up/down respectively.
Get a foam mic cover to block wind noise. Please stop the music.
Thanks for the feedback
Open the cabinets!
I'll let him know and we will try to get a new video up soon with the cabinets.
It has everything you need
And it would be better if you add to it third window screen like sheet metal so no body through at you bricks when you go to sleep that give you more safety feeling
Zombie mode! I like it!
Sleep with a .38 under your pillow if u wanna feel "safe"
Definately need a door for that bathroom, curtain just is not feasible.
We are working on a prototype that we hope to have done in the next week!
What’s the ceiling height? He looks like he can’t stand up straight.
I'm 6'0" and have 1-2" even under the smoke detector and AC vent. My head does touch in the shower but would still find it functional.
Cortes website says height is 6'2"
As a single traveler i could almost find this dueable except for one little item i didnt see where a tv could hang and if so if siiting at table could i still see the tv. I dont think so. Now if someone gave it to me free now thats another story.
Thanks for the feedback.
WEIGHT/COST?
Under 2,500 lbs - check out our website for current pricing!
millersrv.com/inventory/?keyword=cortes
how much for the porta potty?
It is built in and not something we sell independently
No bathroom door? WTF! Notice lack of storage compartments too. I'll go with a Casita.
To each their own.
$48K?! LOL. I rather build my own out of a cargo trailer for 1/5 - 1/4 the price.
You have way more time than I do! I'd never finish it and be able to go camping.
I agree, what type cargo trailer ?
No window screens
Screens and blinds are built into the windows. Very neat design!
It actually does have window screens.
Price???
And there it is!!! The Casita, Scamp killer….
We are so excited about this product and we are looking forward to making some great deals on these units to get them out in the market!
Almost as nice as an Oliver
The Oliver is a very nice unit, but I think we give them a run for their money AND with a dealer network it is a lot more convenient to purchase and service!
Just need an outboard motor and you're all set..
Yep! Cruising in comfort for sure!
Perhaps a small window in the bathroom so you can detach the shower head with long cord and pass it through the window for outside showers etc. the window will also help since the toilet is in there. 🫢
It needs an exhaust fan to dry the shower out faster. The main one in the kitchen is too far away.
If an outside shower is a real need for you we might be able to work out something. Let us know if we can help - 225-275-2940.
It's closer than it looks in the video and that fan really moves some air for this small of a unit.
No awning
With the size and curved wall of this unit it doesn't work well with a traditional awning. We do have a couple options that are lightweight and easy to set up. Reach out to us at sales@miller's RV or call/text 225-275-2940.

There is no bathroom door.
We do have an option to add a sliding door to the Cortes. If you are interested, I can send some pictures of the door we've added. text/call 225-275-2940 or email sales@millersrv.com
Thanks for the input, I'll let the team know!
Why don't they do a cassette toilet?
Thanks for the feedback.
i would get rid of the gas appliances and go all electric, otherwise i like it as is
Thanks for the feedback.
