I became obsessed with the idea of an e-ink tablet after seeing those ubiquitous reMarkable 2 commercials. I read all the reviews and went back and forth between this brand and that, finally settled on the Supernote A6X and waited anxiously for it to arrive. I got it out and wrote my first notes...and realized it wasn't what I wanted it to be. Writing things out is so much slower than typing, and when I try to speed up to capture a thought before it flits away, my handwriting gets that much worse. What a letdown.
If I had it to do over, I would've put the money into an iPad and Apple Pencil. You can approximate the e-ink writing experience with a screen film, yet there are so many more things it can do. Oh well... I hope you have a more positive e-ink experience.

Yeah, it's one of those things that you have to try. Unfortunately, most of the devices aren't in stores so you have to buy first and try. If you don't like it, you either have to sell it or return it for a loss.

I really in the midst of this battle right now. I've yet to buy my first eink paper tablet and I'm already debating whether or not I should. I'm currently writing and drawing on paper because nothing beats that not even paper tablets and then scanning it in with my phone to Google keep so it's searchable I can apply labels have rich media like gifs, video links and more and try as I may this method continues to win out. I've also been experimenting with Google cursive and I believe that if they merged it with keep it would make the perfect solution. It's a real bummer that keep doesn't work good on an eink Android based devices or else I would have the perfect solution... You know, aside from the eye strain, and battery life... And Hardware bulk and Heat... I'm currently using the old Lenovo Chromebook duet but the Palm rejection sucks. The new Lenovo IdeaPad duet 3 comes out in May and I may give that a shot. Because I truly don't want to go without all of these modern conveniences and rich media, I think I may decide to write on paper just like when I was growing up to have zero limitations in that regard and bring back my creative side in full force and then scan it in with my phone. 🤷 I suppose what we really need to ask ourselves is how often do these handwritten notes need to be edited versus just referenced? That may really determine which route you go depending on who you are.

I definitely understand the back and forth. When it comes to the SuperNote, I knew that I was only going to use it for writing. All other features would be nice, but probably never used. And all these months later, I still don't use the other features. I'm using this device as I need it, which is for writing. E-ink is nice, though. Much easier than keeping notebooks around.
