“HRT F112 is the worst F1 car in the last 30 seasons” Pacific PR01, Lola T97/30, HRT F111, Virgin MVR-02, and Manor MR03B: *Allow us to introduce ourselves*
The worst car in 30 years in F1 was the Mastercard Lola in 97. it was 12 seconds slower than polesitter in this exact circuit and more than 5 seconds of the 107% time. The HRT was the second worst, excluding Andrea Modas from 92.
@@groundedgaming williams is a smaller team with a budget a fraction of the big teams. red bull has so much money they overspent the 2021 budget so its not surprising Williams cant keep up with the bigger teams
Oh, and I encourage you to look up the sad thing that was the Pre-Qualifying from the 1980's. Then you'll see what actually means to have massive gaps in the best and the worst cars.
Believe me, there have been far worse F1 cars in the last 30 years. The reason they were so slow in Australia was because prior to that they had done just 10 demonstration laps, and neither the DRS nor the power steering were working. At Valencia they qualified within 103.4%.
It will be more easy, cheaper and of course a lot faster for HRT purchase a GP2 car and tune it instead of build their own F1 from scratch (except the engine, you know)
I only took full-season entries into consideration. Back in the day you and myself could've brought a crappy chasis put some stickers and a engine on it and go "racing"😂
And yet, people like to bitch about today's disparity being the worst it has ever been. Yes, one car always wins, but at least everyone always qualifies and you have to do it real bad to finish 2 laps down. Back in the day, you did well to not finish at least 2 laps down as a slower team.
100% agree. You put Verstappen in Williams and I doubt he would be more than 1.2 sec off his times in the RB19. Todays field is without a doubt the closest.
While the Andrea Moda was slow, they had a chance to qualify at least once in Monaco (Thanks to Roberto Moreno incredible skills and that the car wasn't the worst at the time),the team was a disaster, trough, the biggest handicap. The Life was overall slow and the W12 engine was a constant disaster, the car was a really poor design (the original designer wanted his name out of it,since his job had nothing to do with the one on the track),the team had the spirit, but not the budget and the car to be there.
Fun fact: 112 is the emergency number in Spain. They clearly knowed it was not gonna work lmao
Not only in Spain
I think it is in the whole EU
I know it is in the netherlands since I saw it on the side of an ambulance while on vacation

wth even the modern day f1 grid doesn't have that big of a gap between Max's rb 19 and Logan Sargeant in the williams

HRT vs Life vs Lola vs Andrea Moda!
Holy cow that car is slow!
But that's good for some reason to try driving F1 car looks like

HRT: hold my beer

8+ seconds over a lap is crazy 💀
Wonder if Lola would beat them 😂
HRT's best result of 2012 was actually 15th at Monaco with Narain Karthikeyan.

At least HRT endured entire races and seasons. Its not the worst of the past 30 years, that title belongs to: Andrea Moda, Simtek or LIFE F1 TEAM...
