I didn’t wanna ruin the friendship but I also didn’t want her to assume we were just friends and wanting to hang out all the time. I had to move on but I wouldn’t had been able to, so I asked her out on a date, she said she wasn’t into me, and now we don’t even speak. Oh well. It is what it is. I wish I could take it back and just be friends again but I guess she’s not into that. 🥺
If you had constantly feelings for her, you would have suffered, so it’s a good thing you made a move. As you grow older you may find out anyway that most friendships are not for eternaty because people develop in a different direction, so enjoy friendship while it is what it is, don’t take it for granted and don’t cling on to it too much, when it changes.

I feel you, I had almost exactly the same situation with someone who was one of my best friends for 6 years. Earlier this year I got the courage to tell her that I had feelings for her, and I just had to say it out loud because I felt it affected me and made things unbearable if I didn't say it, but I feared it would ruin everything. She was totally surprised and said she didn't have any feelings towards me (or towards anyone for that matter). I was fine with it and we agreed that this shouldn't change anything and we can still be like before. Of course I knew something had changed and now we haven't talked in months although I tried to keep it going. But you just know when things change, you feel it in the air. Sometimes I regret telling her and sometimes I feel like it had to be done to have a peace of mind. I guess this is just part of life, people come and go. At least there are the memories.

We had only fooled around once many years ago but I hesitated to consummate for reasons that seemed valid at the time but subsequently regretted it. Recently both of us were in a dry spell so I said something to the effect that there was a remedy for that. We talked and decided it was a bad idea for reasons. No big deal but it cleared the air. Moral of the story - don’t resist temptation it might not come your way again.
