Thanks for this dude. I've been playing around with both and I've been favouring purity for humans (especially bosses or revenants or even the Sohaya) to prevent them buffing. But I always wondered why yokai were getting purified without even trying!? I didn't realise it accumulated quicker. 👊
good video. I got lucky early on with getting good armour for a corruption build. I find an awakened weapon deals a lot more damage. |I also run the baku guardian spirit which gives it a big boost. I am still looking to up my sentience charge that is currently sitting around 250 but I cant find armour that doesn't sacrifice the good perks I already have.
You can’t temper it it’s has to drop from underworld as a star effect on the weapon…Im not sure about in DOTN but definitely underworld will drop them more frequently
Corruption and purity don’t stack with each other you can use a purity talisman but it would be useless…unlike other elements you won’t be able to cause confusion with both you can only have either purified or corruption on an enemy at one time
@@KingRedDiamondGaming I realised corruption and purity don't stack. I mean just to have all bases covered while focusing on 2 weapons. Eg. Lightning/corruption for confusion on human enemies and lightning/purity for yokai. Basically, I'm running your kato ninja/melee build and HAVE to use the chidori/lightning sword no matter what lol Raikiri I think its called
A weird thing about sentient weapons is that their heavy attack lets out a blade of purple energy. This only happens when they reach full sentience. I noticed it while using the split staff's high stance heavy. I whiffed the attack but the purple energy shot out and hit the enemy. So running corruption/purity does have it perks if take the talisman route, since applying the any talisman turn off the corruption if the bar is purple. This pushes back the progress but only by 10-15% (it'll still builds up as you attack). So running a elemental secondary sounds amazing, sadly I don't use them a lot in fear of running into enemies that are immune or highly resistant.
I use Oboroguruma SC to apply corruption easily to yokai enemies. It's just my option. But since I have less than 400 sentience charge and have corrupted accumulation on my weapon and accessories, inflicting corruption to yokai is not that hard. Thanks to RNG.
Most definitely it’s a few good ways to get corruption up on yokai. Purity can just be applied easier and faster to all enemies but corruption has the advantage in damage
The amount of ki you get back is pretty much capped…when you steal the ki you’ll see your ki gauge filled up with white to let you know you’ve gained a specific amount back it wont let you regain ki to max if you’re really low
Corruption is ass, it was ass when it was called earth in Nioh, it's more ass in Nioh 2 as awakening overrides any applied elemental or status effect on weapons. It is less ass against humans, and past DoftD; but only slightly.
Corruption is mainly for damage dealing and ki stealing but not much else…it’s utility definitely falls behind purity but there are still a lot of players who like the corruption play style

Luckily sentience can roll on weapons, soul cores and accessories so try finding those without losing armor

Yes sentience charge is one of the few special effects that can roll on all gear…it makes corruption one of the most powerful effects in the game

Would go nicely with my lightning imbued sword I reckon.

Ahh ok well yea you can do that…as long as one of the weapons are corruption that’s an easy way to get confusion for sure

Purity ho-oh purity talisman +any element = confusion +otakumaru… melts enemies and bosses

If you do more ki damage does the corruption steal more ki?

Baku is really good for corruption and isanagami is pretty good for water
