Got burnt out on this game when I bought it last year during Quarantine. i've been intimidated to get back into it because of the steep re-learning curve about stats etc but your guides are helping me so much! Thank you
this exactly, i am gravitating towards souls everytime solely because i can just re-learn and plan on the fly, whereas this game has [and i like deep games] just too much if you leave this on the shelf for too long.
Great tutorial, just another tips I would give: -The equipment weight also affects the damage you deal, less weight means you deal less damage and you die in a few hits, but you recover ki faster and dodge effectively. Viceverse, more weight gives you a damage boost and you can take more hits, but you recover ki slower and are not that efficient to dodge. Later in the game there are stats and abilities that require certain agility or equipment weight. -I also would recommend to at least level up all status to level 10, to not have any problem at equipment new gear, and also because they affect your resistance to certain elements. And element damage and status effect is a huge deal if you are affected.
Just fired this up with a friend a couple weeks ago and the amount of "Holy shit... what does it all MEAN?" was overwhelming, and we were getting -trucked- on normal difficulty, right out of the gate. Watching even 2 of these videos has been incredibly helpful. (Also... you told us to do the dojo, which we did. THAT was helpful too!)
Thank you for this breakdown. I’m enjoying Nioh 2 so much more now that I understand the mechanics . It’s such an awesome game . I’m barely playing it for the first time in 2022 and I love this game. You got yourself a new sub👍
You break these lessons down so well and it really helps seeing the mouse cursor hover over what you're talking about. If you aren't alreadly, you'd be a very good teacher ^^ Thank you for these videos man. I just got this game so these really help.
@@xRadiantOne na the Noob, newbie, im playing Nioh 2: Training Wheels. For real tho I'm stuck at the second main mission on the 3rd aera where the whole mission is and only is (spawns directly) Boss Fight with omnyo magic guy! I have managed to sink 4/5 of his health once. Yay!
Just started the game and I've been fining a lot of your videos, and they're all great. I got my fiancée into the game as well and she's really enjoying it and looking forward to sharing this resource with her. I'll try to comment on as much as I can, and of course, always thumbs up C: Thanks for putting so much time into this videos.
Something I feel was underemphasized is the fact that most of your damage will come from your weapon's own Attack stat, rather than the stats with which they scale. The stats will make a small difference for the first playthrough, to the point where a 'mismatch' in your stats and the weapon's scaling basically doesn't matter. You did mention the golden rule of "use whatever has a higher number", which is great and very helpful! But I feel that this idea about 'mismatched' stats and scaling also should be clearly spelt out.
Hey so i recently picked up nioh 2 and i had the same question. I originally picked up odachi and put most of my points in strength. But now I wanna change weapons and wanted to ask if it would hinder my playthrough/gameplay if i say i wanna play with swotchgalive with scales with magic but i don't have any points any magic. Do i have to put points into magic from now on or would i be ok if say i put those points into something else?
@@PremMajumdarVG You can put them into something else. Take level ups for utility, not damage. Increase your Magic if you want more Magic slots. Otherwise, get other, more useful stats (health, ki, ki regen etc.)
@@Maggotbone eyoo i didn't think u would respond since the comment was posted 2 years ago but thanks!! So basically in new game those stat bonuses (B, C) and what not don't really matter that much right. Because I'm thinking of changing my weapons every new mission/stage lol
I would say that Strength and Skill are still pretty decent stats regardless of unlocking gear because they boost your ki pulse capabilities. Along with Heart and Courage, they are good for ki regen.
Bro your so under veiwed i can't find anyone breaking things down in this game the way you do and it's totally necessary too I came from being a souls fan boy and Jesus I got shat on, in fact I still am lol im gonna ens up watching all the lessons before I end up beating this first playthru
Getting ready for Wu-long and was playing this to scratch that itch. These guides are awesome and I feel like a lot of this will transfer over to Wu-long as well.
I have more than 500 hours on both Nioh games. Dream of the Samurai is by far the hardest difficulty there is. On subsequent dreams you have so many tools at your disposal that make the game so much easier. Only the Depths compare to the Dream of the Samurai
I've tried this game 3 times now and always approached it wrong, I think. I am going to assume, without belittling the game at all, that I should gear myself like I did in DS3, for the first playthrough anyways. I chose fists and Odachi and I'm playing it really slow this go around. I've not gotten far, just used fists on Guzuki (hopefully that's his name) and it took me a while but it is extremely satisfying when the combos click and you can manage ki better. I'm excited this time!!
I literally played most of the game around seventy-four to seventy-two percent and my god I didn't see how much that mattered until I hit higher Stamina levels and it was night and day. I feel like the only reason I got there was because I was using tonfa and spear, which have super maneuverability moves in their movesets.
I went balls deep. No build vids, nothing getting my butt crushed like a wall nut from space. Can’t switch between stances to save my life. I have no clue what weapon colors I should keep or scrap( except white we all know that’s common peasant crap). I love it so far but I’ve hit a wall so this is helping me
I got a platinum trophy on nioh 1 and got most of the trophies in nioh 2 and I legit didn't know what half of this meant 😂 way more going on than a souls game so I just kept beating my head against the wall.
Absolutely! My future videos will address this myth. There's just a lot of information to cover and I don't want to overwhelm anyone. That's why I'm breaking down concepts over the course of multiple videos.
@@PooferLlama well mister PL you earned yourself a sub bud! Your a smart dude! Oh hey I'm on ps5 as well do you have any known Graves where you died with sweet sweet gear on so I can remnant farm!
The great beast that is menu grinding, and boy does Nioh 2 reward you for understanding what these numbers do! Highly valuable video right here.

This series is fundamental, i started Nioh 2 a few months ago, got past the snake boss, but i never felt like i knew what i was doing. thanks
imo the snake boss(yatsu) is probably the biggest wall in the early game onve u get past him i feel its just smooth sailing

It is really nice to see some vids that start at the basics rather than mid game builds etc etc which most vids have been so far.

This is the guide I’ve been searching for. Thank yoi
Bro im getting ads for your channel now !!!! Hell yea glad you getting up there man
Thanks Sony should pay u. Ur explanations of some of the more difficult stuff is simple and made me better at Nioh.
This is a Team Ninja/Koei Tecmo game, not Sony. They just paid for the exclusivity

the game became a lot less stressful for me after watching this, thank you 🙏🏽

Awesome man! Many thanks 🤙🏻
Very well explained so far! Thanks
That thumbnail is one of the best i've ever seen 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Bro the thumbnail game has leveled. I clicked right away.
I came here to see if I have to build for specific weapons. I love that I dong have to, and I can use anything!
Where did you get the extra armor? I only have Million & Demon. I have all DLC's.

I have no clue what weapon colors I should keep or scrap( except white we all know that’s common peasant crap). I love it so far but I’ve hit a wall so this is helping me
So when you level up, you're best off just spreading it around over focusing on the weapon?
Early on, in my opinion, yes.
I want to see my weapons lvl on the menu screen. How do i do this?
So it matters if build your character taller and more muscle build

i think i played something like 300h on nioh , and only now undestand what ki damage means.....
thank you
Ahh I didn't get the complete editionnn . Got base game with store credit lol welp
so when compared to other weapons, fists don't do as much damage and tonfas aren't as good at breaking guard, ok got it 😃 📝
hahaha i know i know. basic attacks arent the appeal of most weapons anyway :)
Is heart a good stat to level up??
Yeah, you can never go wrong having more ki.
What is the weight for light armour
A agility is available at an equipment weight of 30% or below. Light armor greatly facilitates getting to that weight or below.
breaking the myth of stats.... will you break the myth of this being a soulsborne? :P
a change in that mindset alone will help a lot of people i bet.
