      I agree, I think it looks fantastic and has a lot of nice details and scale realism. It is hard to believe that they can make this buggy for the price they do but somehow it still doesn't get much attention, probably because it is not one of the mainstream brands.

      It is funny how some manufacturers offer things as standard on very basic RC cars and others rarely give you anything, even on expensive models. Lighting is one of those areas which would be nice if it was included as in reality the parts are very cheap. Tamiya for example rarely give you LED lighting and also seem to like to always supply plastic bushes instead of metal bearings, even on quite expensive RC models. I like to customise my models so it can be fun choosing parts to upgrade your vehicle to suit your taste.

      Hello there! The FY-06 is a beast of a machine! Did you do anything to modify the body or you left it overhanging at the rear? I guess the 6 wheel design puts quite a bit of extra stress on the drivetrain and suspension components.

    Thanks heaps

    • @BlackSeaRC

      Hello there and thanks for your question. I am currently out of the country so I can't measure the battery compartment right now. However, if you can wait a couple of weeks, when I get back I will check the dimensions for you. When I bought my FY-03H, it came with 2 batteries (if you check my other video on the FeiYue, you will see the batteries). One was a Li-ion and the other a 3000mAh LiPo. Both use the same charger so it should be fine with the battery. It would obviously take longer to charge a higher capacity battery though. So it is just the space available and I will check that for you.

    • @BlackSeaRC
      @BlackSeaRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I measured the battery tray and it is long enough to fit a battery that is 85mm long. If you look at the first video in my series featuring the FY-03H you will see two different types of batteries. Watch at 10:50. The smaller battery is the standard one supplied. The larger battery is 85mm long and fits the length of the tray. The standard 7.4V stick packs that you might use in a 1:10 scale buggy are too large for this application.

      I will run it for a while to see how it performs and also see if it is robust enough to handle performance upgrades. There is plenty of space for a bigger motor and the drivetrain already has quite a few metal components so I'm sure it is possible to do without too much effort.

    long time no see, how are you friend .. i'm really interrest with this FeiYue series .. my question is .. is this 1:12 scale fit with 1:12 tb league figure? .. if not what scale should i use with 1:12 tbleague figure .. and for the lights, i saw many people installed a module for the lights that can be control from the radio transmitter .. it's awesome but, i'm not kinda guy that can do that .. 🤣

    • @BlackSeaRC
      @BlackSeaRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello again my friend, I am fine and hope you are too? This FeiYue buggy is officially quoted as 1:12 scale but you can't always rely on what the manufacturers say. The only models that are really true to scale are the cars by companies such as Rastar. This is because the chassis and body are reproduced to look exactly like the real car. Buggies are typically custom designs so vary greatly in proportions plus if they are not based on a real vehicle, who is to say how big the scale model should be? Sometimes a body is approximately to scale, sometimes a chassis is roughly to scale. Even if a body is to scale it is often designed with space for a head and upper body but no space for legs. Unfortunately, the FeiYue has virtually no space under where the driver's torso is so I think it wouldn't accept a figure unless it was substantially modified. Additionally, RC vehicles with off-road capabilities typically have a chassis that can handle terrain that is not in keeping with the scale. What I mean is that people want off-road capabilities that far exceeds what a full size vehicle could handle. A 1:10 scale buggy that does 40mph is like a real buggy travelling at 400mph. When you drive a RC car over small stones it is like a real car going over 1 metre high rocks. So often, the scale is just a rough guide. Some RC vehicles just cannot accept an action figure of any scale but for those that can, I always use a figure of smaller size than the vehicle. For example, with Rastar 1:14 scale models I use a 1:18 scale action figure. Even then, they don't always fit due to leg room restrictions of problems with limited articulation. The 1:12 scale figures such as TBLeague work best with 1:10 scale RC vehicles. Look at the Cross-RC SG4 Demon and the XT4 for example. These vehicles have a scale interior and are specifically designed to fit a driver figure. Luckily the TBLeague figures have great articulation so you have the best chance with them. I certainly wouldn't want to cut the lower legs off a figure to get it to fit! I am hoping to be able to show you my 1:12 scale TBLeague figure driving a new RC vehicle in the coming months. I have a new RC buggy coming soon and I hope it will be ideal for my figures. I also ordered a new TBLeague body, custom head sculpt and clothing.

      Plus, regarding lights, I also wanted to do exactly what you asked. If your transmitter (and receiver) has a spare channel with a push button then it should be easy. You can buy something called a "LED light control switch". If you watch my video about the Cross-RC EMO AT4V "Set-up, Testing and Upgrade Parts" from 3:07 onwards, you will see the part. It is cheap to buy and simple to fit. You just plug it in and it works! I am currently working on the follow-up video with some more customisations of this truck and I will show you how the switch works.

      @@BlackSeaRC sorry for the late reply my friend, .. i'm fine too thank you .. ahh i see, so the scale is depend on the manufacture .. so the best bet is to put my 1:12 driver with the 1:10 rc right? .. but at the moment i think i will stick with my 1:16 4wd jimmny 🤣 maybe i can costumize the body so i can put my 1:12 figures .. 😅 i can't wait to see your next video and what kind of rc that you will show to us ..

    • @BlackSeaRC
      @BlackSeaRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@themozzie The receiver just supplies the power so normally, if you plug into one of the spare ports, the lights are permanently on whenever you switch on the ESC. You could get a traditional on/off switch that fits between the receiver and LED lights. Some LED sets even come with a switch. I bought something like this from Injora for use on another project. I initially thought if you plugged into a spare channel on the receiver, the handset would automatically control that channel but it doesn't. That is why you need the channel control switch. You don't physically press a switch in this case, it is just an electronic circuit (well, the switch is your button on the handset).

    Now you have owned this buggy for some time, what are your thoughts on it? Is it any good or would you be better off spending a bit more money and getting a brand such as Arrma?

    • @BlackSeaRC
      @BlackSeaRC  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The FY-03H has proved to be reliable, robust and handles quite nicely. It is fast and even without oil shock absorbers the suspension works well. What I don't like about it is that it is difficult to access under the body. It requires the removal of a lot of screws which is inconvenient. Overall, it was a good buy for the price in my opinion. Brands such as Arrma have some great models but they are not easy to find in all countries. I find that the products are regularly out of stock so I think a Chinese brand can make a good choice. The quality of products available has certainly improved over the last few years. Really it just depends on exactly what you are looking for.
