    I see a lot of bitching in the comments, but I'll be honest I love these podcasts with the accused, the alleged. Bowmar, Muley Freak, Brackett, CJ, probably others and now Spook. It's exciting content, offers new perspective and a chance at redemption. Keep up the good work HUNTR

    I was on the verge of offering a landowner money for the first time to hunt a booner WV deer last year. I had access to a small property beside the big one he actually lived on. I can understand this guy if I had money like him. Big deer make me crazy. Sitting behind a big buck is money better spent than a week long vacation to me.

    Limit is 3 does a day in middle/western TN not many I’ve seen shoot does. They allow a lower number of bucks than in the past. Biggest trouble I’ve seen here is the loss of habitat and the massive influx of people coupled with all the leasing makes the hunting less than I remember as a younger guy as well. Love the podcast.

    Guys like Spook, Josh, Drury's, Lee, Lee Ellis, are just on another level of intensity and obsession. You just have to appreciate them and their devotion, tenacity, and skill, even if their style is not your cup of tea. But even if their style was my cup of tea, it's HIGHLY unlikely I would ever be a fraction as successful.

Sadly Gahanna no longer has the urban deer hunting program. 100% guys are shooting them out of their back yard and not saying a peep.

I have two pa pope and Young bucks and a pa record book rifle buck. Yet, I have never put any of them into the states records due to me being lazy lol. He’s not wrong on Southern Illinois being ruined. The out of state pressure is ridiculous. I’m all for people having the opportunity to hunt but the state needs to doing something. Why would someone pay thousands in the south to lease property to kill a 120” when they can spend $400 on an over the counter tag here and see multiple 120-140” deer a day. It is evident that the age structure is being affected. The state needs to go to a draw for out of state hunters.

    Enjoyed the podcast. The law coming after him on that Kansas buck is an abuse of power and unfortunately not an isolated incident. I understand his regret. I had a lower profile lower offense and was in the same position of feeling I was charged incorretly and they were settling personal vendettas and it didn't make economic sense to go to trial. Wish I could go back and fight it thru. Not sure what drives some of these "lawmen", but I have moved on to live a wonderful life and wonder if these guys enjoy what they do day to day.

    Like him or not. Spook makes no bones about his #1 goal - Shooting the record whitetail. He is quick to admit he will do what it takes to achieve this goal. He searches out big deer and does whatever to get that deer in front of him. People speculate that he may break the law in the process. Doesn't help his case that he pled to illegally taking the Kansas buck. However, jealousy is huge motivation when it comes to huge bucks. If the Kansas buck was a 180 or less, I guarantee nothing would have been done.

    It really struck me when he said the guy that passes up the two hundreds because they're ugly does it for his own personal enjoyment...... W t f why else would you do it. Maybe that's why some of these guys end up with game violations. It's all about the notoriety so they feel pressure to cheat or apparently flat out pay for deer. @adamfrench5368 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Right, that’s a good point to be clearer on. Sounds like back in that year he would’ve gotten drawn each year based on other Huntr conversations?

They can't really grow net 200" typicals in captivity because they just grow to much trash. That's why net 200" typivals are the holy grail in the whitetail world.

      I don’t see where anyone tore the kid down. I see the point they were making.
      Just like what Michael Jordan said about the new and young players coming into the league they are guaranteed millions of dollars before even show casing their talents on the NBA floor. Even if they don’t pan out they still get that money. So why would you try hard.
      This kid that killed a big buck like that isn’t gonna top that off most likely and for the rest of his days of hunting he might feel disappointed and get burned out if he doesn’t kill another buck of that magnitude. Hell this buck he killed might make him just quit hunting all together.

    • @hoosierhunter8741
      @hoosierhunter8741 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My point is they all laughed say he was 11. Spook said humanly impossible for a kid to appreciate that buck and less likely to hunt any more. Who knows it could light a fire under the kid to learn and figure out how to be the next big buck killer we are all watching. I hate the fact he was annoyed it was taken during youth yet in same breath saying he was trying to get a commissioners tag. All these guys have a “network of people” as spook said. it takes away from kids locals who also know about these bucks but just don’t have the money or “network of people”.
