Andre has developed one of the worst attitudes about hunting that I've ever heard.
He is exactly what I do not want to become.
He takes out all of the friendship all the camaraderie all of the family everything that most of us enjoy and replaces it with something merely about him. This podcast should be a good reminder about how friendships are blown up over big deer.

Glad somebody else sees it. All these fans boys on here. Ever notice they talk close to zero tactics? Ive rarely heard Cody talk tactics.
I don’t think Andre is as bad as Cody though.
The disrespectful comment about “shitty states like Florida” Florida swamp hunters would put Cody to shame on hunting knowledge. His ego couldn’t handle it.
Andre asking for genetically modified deer to be brought out. He is like that woman who keeps getting more giant breast implants.

Cody is trying to take steps ( Going Trad, no cameras) to keep hunting exciting and motivate him to hunt hard. He doesn't want to get to the point where Andre is, where the cameras are in control of the season. I think that is really a good choice that will make his hunting career much better and will help him to keep improving. Ultimately this was just a reminder that we all have different goals and they change as we age. Don't expect others to share your hunting goals because we are all different.

I will say I was extremely late this year getting cams out. Almost always have them out first week of May. Didn’t do it this year until last week of July and that definitely added some excitement! On a piece of public I know there’s a stud drop time buck from talking to a guy I know that I don’t have a pic of. But knowing he’s there makes me want to hunt that harder than any of my private ground pieces. And if I bump deer I’ll just keep moving to the next spot. And in general the last 5 years started hunting more from the ground and it’s definitely a rush. I personally love taking a little bit of both their styles.

Andre reminds me of the same people I’ve paid to hunt their land. They get a kick out of watching you fail year after year. Once you become successful, the jealousy comes out and their true character shows. It’s too bad a man would jeopardize a relationship with his son over a whitetail deer. The writing is on the wall for me, gentlemen wanted me to help around the property and pay to hunt. Each year I’ve become a little more successful and each year the goal post is moved and the requirements to hunt increase. Fully prepared to hunt state land the next few years until I can purchase my own property and be done with it. Having to appease land owners and their emotions, really can be overwhelming and ruin your outlook on hunting.

I live in Iowa and only bow or late season muzzleloader hunt and during gun seasons, I pheasant hunt those 3 weekends hunting creek bottoms, CRP fields and waterways away from the heavy gun pressure. I cannot count the number of times; we have come across big bucks all by themselves that spot us pheasant hunting from a couple hundred yards away. They stand up and walk 2-400 yards perpendicular to the creek or draw and bed down in a fence line and let us walk through. Once we are out, we will watch them move back to where they first spotted us. They can see everything for a ½ mile in all directions and they never panic/run.

I also think most people use windacator and don’t actually know where their scent hits. I like to carry milkweed for that reason

@@ChavsADV definitely not hurting anything. I just don’t think the juice is worth the squeeze. If they smell you’re breath. How much does it help to control everything else. And I don’t think you make the judgement that they’ll smell you less because they typically bust or avoid if they smell you at all, and they’ll smell your breath. I don’t think you can beat their nose.
If you wanna jump through the hoops do it but don’t rely on it.
The discussion is how much scent matters. And I think (based of dogs) that the threshold where a deer can smell you is so low that it doesn’t matter how much scent we give off. Just can the deer get down wind.
With that said. The more you smell the further the scent can travel. That’s 100 percent. But we’re bow hunting. Within 25 yards at that. If they’re downwind you’ll get smelled. Unless you have a way to eliminate breath scent.
Ozonics may be a different story. People say it truelly eliminates scent. Like gas spilling in a car and getting rid of the scent. But I’ve never used it
I don’t think it matters but it definitely doesn’t hurt. Unless it takes away from hunting or makes you falsely confident

Where is the line in the sand between the guys that kill the 150+ in places like PA,MI, NH, Maine on public in big woods and the guys that kill 170 on a farm with no hunting pressure. Is it not obvious that there is a difference between giant buck killers on private farms and big buck killers on pressured land? Don’t get it twisted I love hunting my private land and killing a good buck but I don’t think I’m a better hunter for it than the guys who get it done no matter where they are.

@@HUNTRPOD exactly right. That’s why I always say that there is no best hunter. Good woodsman-ship is just that no matter how you slice it. These big name guys just get so butt hurt whenever you mention another guys names, not singling Andre out they all seem to do it.

What’s the problems with using cameras? The dude has some of the biggest deer in the world on the wall. Does he need cameras NO but he isn’t just going out putting cameras he’s reading sign and hanging cameras. He’s strategically placing cameras in order to see what is on the property. Cody is in denial about his high that he is chasing to prove he is the biggest and the baddest.

    Deer can smell a human.
Deer can smell a human and that scent lock suit.
Deer can smell a human using scent eliminating soap.
Deer can smell a human and the backpack.
What is the common denominator. lol
If you want to change the bacteria on skin wash with vinegar 5 minutes before a shower. But I don't know what would happen to a scent-crazed trophy hunter washing with vinegar 12 times a day. lol

There were at least 10 million natives before the Europeans arrived with civilized organization no less. Probably the same deer populations occurred around settlements and around periodic burning to reduce tree cover and provide fresh ground cover growth there were more deer, less under climax forests. Before licensing the Europeans used guns and simply shot & ate anything that moved reducing all wild animals including deer.

Love hearing the Andre and Cody I just can’t stand it when the interviews regergitate the same information that they have gathered from all the top killers as if they figured this out. Not only these guys but a lot of guys do the same thing on there podcast. Don’t kid yourself it’s for them to have the inside scoop more than anything. Props to them but the only reason there channel has grown is because of there guest not them. Alll these podcasters that there channel is doing is well is because the people they interviewed same thing over and over that’s what I mean riding the coattails. Bet if they didn’t interview any of these big buck killers it would be a flop. The entire industry has become this way and it’s just getting old. Kudos to them
