    Thanks for the vids on the jackfruit. When I get the opportunity to buy these I'll give it a go. Always great to learn and try new things.

      You are very welcome! :) Like I mention in the video for your first time, you may want to buy one of the sections that will be cut and wrapped in plastic next to large ones. Or just dive into a full one haha :) :)

    Hi Matt. I am always open to trying different foods. I never had jackfruit before and would love to try it. I love the taste and texture of chickpeas and chestnuts so I’m sure I would love the jackfruit seeds. Especially fried in the pan. Curious to know if you ever had Durian fruit. That’s something I would love to try.

      Hi Karen!! I don't think I have tried Durian. I may have when I was living in the Philippines, but that was 20 years ago, haha. Durian is super stinky haha, but they do sell it at the Asian market, and I am planning on doing a video on it at some point.

      Thank you!! Yes you can roast them in the oven as well after boiling them. I have heard of people roasting them in the oven first without boiling them, and then having them explode in the oven, haha.

    What else can you do with these seeds?

    • @inthekitchenwithmatt
      @inthekitchenwithmatt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Boil them, roast them, sauté them, make jackfruit seed hummus, grind them into flour and add to baked goods, add to smoothies, make jackfruit seed butter, and of course eat them by themselves as a snack.

    I’ve cooked jackfruit seeds and they taste kinda like a potato but normally I would germinate the seeds so I can grow a jackfruit tree!

    • @inthekitchenwithmatt
      @inthekitchenwithmatt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are so many seeds though, so you can easily do both. :) haha

    I thought I was the only one who thinks that jackfruit seeds are mini potatoes with bean taste 😌

      You can't eat them without boiling/cooking them first.

      No way around it that is what you need to do if you want to eat the seeds.
