Made a long comment, it didn't post so must of violated a policy. Thanks for putting out your videos and having a positive approach to automotive repair. Your positive comments and honest videos helped me pull the trigger on buying this scope and I have no regrets. You did ask a question in your video about A/C coupling. My understanding is you should us DC coupling for Sine wave of a permanent magnetic sensors. The way I understand it is A/C coupling measure voltage changes vs absolute voltage of DC coupling. Seen A/C coupling used with relative compression testing if using voltage vs inductive amp clamp. Also have seen it to monitor voltage drop, rise, and spike over switch contacts to really view the voltage changes at lower readings. Acts like a filter as I understand. Very interesting and have much to learn!

Hello Steve. I wonder why your first comment didn’t post. I feel your frustration. It’s almost impossible to not violate a “policy”. Thank you very much for the kind words. That really goes a long way. I try to not act like I know everything, because I don’t; and I’m ALWAYS learning, and welcome feedback. I started this channel because when I was on the fence of buying Micsigs first automotive scope, the ATO1104 (my first scope), there really wasn’t too much out there on it. And only a couple/few videos of it actually being used on an automobile. I went ahead and rolled the dice and got it, and I’m glad I did. Now I’m on my third Micsig scope, and they continue to impress me. When you compare other scopes for under $1K, no one els even come close. At least not what I’ve seen. So I figured I might as well make my own videos to put out there to help other people. It helps me too. That’s interesting what you said about the A/C coupling. I was under the impression, that if I’m looking at an A/C sine wave, that I use the A/C coupling. It does make sense though. I have done relative compression checks with no amp clamp, using A/C coupling and inverting the signal. I’ll have to read up more on the rest of what you mentioned, to hopefully get a better understand of it. Thanks again Steve. I mentioned why I started my channel. Well , thanks to people like you, in return taking the time to better help me learn and understand something; is why I continue with the channel. Thanks again, and your feedback and knowledge is always welcomed here, my friend.

I almost forgot. You mentioned using A/C coupling for seeing the voltage changes at lower readings. I’m not sure if you are aware or not, but the scope has a Low Pass filter where you can set it to only see lower frequencies. You can manually set the range you want. Anyway, I think that’s pretty cool. I’ve played around with it a little bit, but have not used it in a real world diagnosis yet. Ok, take care my friend.

      Atom,
Yes, I have played a little bit with the low pass filter to remove some noise from some waveforms. I don't know enough to know when the noise is acceptable or if I have an issue. I mainly work on Paccar products (Kenworth/Peterbilt) for a fleet of around 50 power units. I have access to Paccar service information and they have an area dedicated to Pico with waveform templates and evaluating your readings which is extremely helpful. Ironic thing is local dealer doesn't have a scope and it is only required to have one per 10 dealerships in a group. Lots of good articles on A/C coupling, a keysight web page has awesome explanation. I have been mainly just getting good known waveforms saved when I have time. I like the fact that I can save and name waveform, but that you can also save the settings volt/time/channels with it so you compare like to like. I have been using my saved waveforms as my own "presets"
      Thanks,
      Steve

Congrts bud on hitting 1000 subs. That's a nice milestone to hit, I still have 330 more to go. Have a nice a nice day and stay warm.

So, a few hrs ago I subscribed to your channel. I didn’t know you made videos. If you told me before, I forgot. My apologies. Anyway, you’re one more closer to 1,000 subscribers, lol. I’ll start checking out your videos. I can mention your channel in my next videos if you want. Of course, my channel is small, but even if only a few people go to your channel because of it, every little bit helps. Good luck Mark.

It’s a 99 Mazda B2500 2.5l 5spd manual transmission. First off I am always learning and don’t know everything. So if I say something wrong, please let me know. This is what Alldata says:
      Speed Sensor
The anti-lock brake system uses three variable-reluctance sensors to determine vehicle speed. The antilock brake sensors operate on magnetic induction principle. As the teeth on the anti-lock brake sensor indicator rotate past the stationary sensor, a signal proportional to the speed of the rotation is generated and sent to the 4WABS control module through a twisted cable and shielded wiring harness.
I wish I could add pictures here. They have a picture of the one in the rear of the vehicle they call the rear axle speed sensor. That’s the one I probed in the video.
They have another picture of one of the front sensors they call front speed sensor. It lives just behind the rotor. One on each wheel in the front.
Just to confirm, You want me to hook up to the front one? Is that right?

Thank you, and Merry Christmas back at you Mark. Yeah, I picked up a second job and have been really busy. I was actually just talking to my wife about quitting it. So hopefully I can get back into making videos. I hope all is well with you and the family.

Hello again. It's nice to see the scope in action. I'm curious about the updates. My scope shows "network anomaly!" after updating to version 15, connects to only one WiFi network, and sometimes won't show the network settings when swiping down from the top of the screen. I haven't found an effective way to contact support from the seller and was wondering if you had the same experience and if there was a resolution. I hope you get more videos out as they help me figure things out

Hey there Geo Logic. First off, thanks again for watching and leaving a comment/question; I always appreciate that. So far, I am unable to connect to my home WiFi (AT&T). Which is odd since I can connect my two other Micsig scopes to it. I am able to connect to my hotspot through my phone still. Also AT&T. I haven’t tried to connect anywhere else to date. I just got home and am in desperate need of a shower and food, lol. Here in a little bit I’ll check to see what update I’m on, and see if I have any trouble with the other thing you mentioned (so far I don’t believe I have, if I understand correctly, what you’re referring to). I’ll check when I get my scope out, here in a little bit.

So, I’ve noticed it says “network anomaly” whenever you are not connected to the internet. So apparently I didn’t have the Version 15 download yet. I just started the download a couple minutes ago. It seems llike it’s gonna take a while to download it. I guess since I’m using the hotspot on my phone. I tried my home internet first, but it still won’t connect to it. I’ll let you know what happens once the download is complete. Stand by…..

So far you're fairing better than I. Mine connects through my mobile hotspot but refuses to download updates through it. The scope still works, but I'm concerned about continued usability if it can't be corrected to restore the ability to update. Good luck.
Edit: it appears the network anomaly issue exists no matter the version. Perhaps it's just a Micsig access issue. That would be okay if they'll get back online soon. Thanks for replying so soon. Goodnight

This is gonna be a while. The download is only
592 MB. After about 40 minutes, it’s only at 222MB

      It’s only downloading at about 0.02-0.04 MB/S). Oh wait a second! Note it’s 0.68MB/S.
