I love this lesson. The subtle difference between the pressure on the left leg versus the left upper body. Feels like I’ve just been handed a key to open a door that has been frustratingly locked for a long time. Thanks Aimee.
Best instructor out there. The push drill without a swing is particularly good because it ingrains the moment of truth. The most important part of the swing is that one crucial movement. No teacher iut there conveys these thoughts like Aimee Cho. Tour players men and women should be lining up to work with her. The best.
Hi Aimee...Jeff from Pennsylvania here!I want to thank you! I really enjoy your videos and you have helped me out with my swing immensely! The one key point that transformed my swing is that you post up the left leg with about 90% of your weight first then swing through impact. I was always trying to shift my weight as I was making my way through impact which caused me nothing but horrors! Every once in a while I would produce a shot with great compression at impact and directly at my target, but I never knew how I really did it. After that I would be searching again which I'm sure most golfers have experienced. I have found that a great impact helps to transcend into a great post impact. Awesome experience!Sincerely, Jeff...a happy and content golfer now!
Aimee you are the best teacher on the internet. I would love to take lessons with you. Your explanation of impact positions and what I should feel in my thighs and lower body has taught me how to initiate my transition with my lower body. My ball striking has changed dramatically.
Hi Aimee, just a note to say thank you for your very informative & practical videos. I've watched most, if not all, of them including the ones spoken in Korean! My game has improved a lot since & is more consistent now. Pls keep them coming. I've recommended my buddies to watch them too. Thank you very much.
That is soooo useful. Could be the missing link for many of us. Aimee you have such a great talent, it's one thing to understand or play golf well and it's totally another to be able to convey instructions so everyone can understand and apply it to their game easily. My favorites 010, 025, 026, 0 27 and now this 028. You are way ahead of the pack. If I was your boss I'd give you a raise right now ... a hug and a raise!! Looking forward to more.
This is just what I was looking for. My club face is sometimes open at contact as my wrists and hands have not unhinged at impact - I think this is because I am focusing on holding lag. Your videos are extremely practical and to the point. I love the way explain common mistakes and how to fix them!!! Thanks for helping me enjoy golf even more!!
This is so helpful. Thank you. I love the way you break down the swing to various parts so that we know what it looks like and feels like. You are an awesome coach/teacher Aimee!
Thank you Aimee for this video. Very helpful and my next range session will be 10 o"clock post impact drill. I have a strong feeling that this is going to really help me.
excellent instruction. most helpful. this is one aspect of my swing i only recently started paying attention to and it is giving me the consistency that has alluded me for so many years.
After a month or so of studying all of your videos, my swing just keeps improving. I am already an accomplish golfer using the old swing of yester years with hands pressed forward at start of my swing. I leaned them way forward in fact. I have converter now fully to the modern swing you teach and I love it. Easier on my body and joints. And less effort. The only effort on my part was to implement all of the changes in my grip, setup, and learning to use my big muscles and not standing up at impact as I once did. I am not getting fully rotated to the target at the finish and it has come easy for me to maintain my posture throughout swing. Also, you lessons on lag, impact position, and now this post impact position video is fantastic. Thanks for being the best teacher I have ever studied under. I have been as low as a .1 Index on tough Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player designed courses in Northern Michigan and am currently about a 4.5 index....mostly my poor chipping the cause. I am excited because with what I have learned from you I can work to becoming a scratch golfer again.
Hi Ken, thank you for your lovely message. I am glad to hear that my lessons have been helping! I can't believe you managed to make such dramatic changes. It sounds like doing great! Please keep me in the loop for how your chipping goes! Thanks Ken.
Great lesson. Was able to take it to the practice range and hit some quality shots mimicking the post impact position and then doing half and full swings. Definitely going to take some time for my body memory muscles to adapt to the different swing position. My body kept fighting me to not shift to the left and would force a coming over the top move first. Had to stay very focused on shifting first instead of spinning left. I can see what a difference following Aimee's teaching will mean to my game.
aimee, as always great video. my key swing thought post impact is the toe of the club points to the sky at 3 oclock with both hands extended. i do feel that i flip my right palm like reaching out to shake someone else's hand. if i dont, i get a tiny slice ball flight.
Hi Aimee Thank you for your lessons. Most of the time my ball goes to the left, i guess it is the result of my swing path being outside in, rather than the usual inside out, or as you mention, like the classical flip. Now my 7 iron goes to about 100m carry, I would like to know how I can have additional 30m to 40m more. Can advise? Many thanks!
My problem, pulling arm's Inward loss of yrd's and Inconsistant shot's; weight transfer to the left leg and the "Y" will definately bring the wright trajectory. Great Lesson Thank You.
Good video. I think I might have inadvertently stumbled across my fault with this video, mainly being the flip through and over rotate - which is odd because, certainly with the flip, I see a lot of people still say you need to flip and in fact, a recent lesson I had was mainly about flipping. Will certainly give this a try though.
If you have a decent impact position & post impact position, I wouldn't worry too much with flipping. But if those positions are inconsistent, then I would emphasis this. :)
Hey Aimee, push by the right hip, right shoulder ... great. What an easy feeling from now on. Thanks. You mentioned the lower body hasn't turned that much at this point (post impact position). Nevertheless it is a power source and the hip will turn a bit. How much is it refering to the symbolic clock? Greetings Andy
Great drill Aimee, I'm struggling with the Hook due to my flipping position at the post impact position, maybe I have to reduce my tempo to fix the right post impact position with the face square to the target?
Could you do one on applying changes to one's swing ... what kind of expectations one should have and how long it takes to implement changes. I've often tried things, gotten disheartened after a couple of rounds and gone back to my old habits. While I'm making requests, how about one on swing thoughts. Caroline Masson told me once that she doesn't think of anything while swinging ... just feels the rhythm that she had rehearsed pre-shot. To us amateurs it almost feels impossible not to have multiple thoughts in our heads while swinging. I believe that our brains can only entertain one thought at a time anyway so it might be super counterproductive to try to think otherwise. If just one then which one? Would love to know your comments on this. Respect.
Hi aimee, Nice video as always. I would like to have more angle from the back so we can see better where the club travel. should it travel out of the golf ball at post impact in to out or straight ? what is the correct feeling ?
Oh yes, thank you for the suggestion. I will be talking more about this part of the golf swing, so I will keep that in mind. I always prefer the clubhead to travel on a straighter swing plane. This will happen more automatically if your body is doing the right moves.
Hi Aimee, I am really struggling to get the correct post impact position. I can do it all day long with a practice swing but as soon as I put a ball down my impact position looks like a flip with my hands close to my right thigh at impact. I try holding onto my release and practicing the release like yours and then return to my problem when I hit a ball. Not sure what else I can do. Psychological barrier?
Hi, I'm just starting playing golf and noticed that Im getting pain in my left wrist. Is it normal? It could be that I'm holding to much on the grip? Any tips?
Was it your first time ever with the driver? Believe it or not, it is pretty common to fracture your ribs swinging golf clubs. Although it could be as simple as a muscular inflammation, I wouldn't push it too much :( And if it is bothering a lot, I would always go get it checked out!

My problem is my hips spinning out in addition to a flip, causing me to wickedly hook the ball... Thanks for this video... very well presented.

Is it wrong if I feel it more in my left hips than thigh when doing the ball push drill?
this is when to turn fully and face belt buckle to the target ?

Hello, it is hard to say without seeing the golf swing, but you maybe holding it too tight with the left hand!
You're the best aimee! I love you!!
I did my first drive with a driver yesterday and got pain in my left upper rib cage. Can I keep up playing it's hurting a bit?
Was it your first time ever with the driver? Believe it or not, it is pretty common to fracture your ribs swinging golf clubs. Although it could be as simple as a muscular inflammation, I wouldn't push it too much :( And if it is bothering a lot, I would always go get it checked out!
Yes. You are right. The pain is going slowly.
Fortunately it's no fracture😊🌹
