8:34 He talks about the huge ovation he received, and how Scotty got booed because of the trade rumors. Stevie getting everyone to give Scotty a standing o is one of the defining moments of his career. You can tell Scotty was moved by the gesture. Class and grace personified.

    My 3 favorite captains...
    Steve Yzerman
    Scott Stevens
    Joe Sakic
These were true leaders. Basically when Yzerman told the fans to make up for the harsh ovation that Scotty got, he was saying it from the heart. He was telling the fans that as the captain, you WILL give Scotty a nice ovation. If you didn’t give an ovation Yzerman would not like that.

Yea and about thousands and thousands of fans agree with me. You’re either a butt hurt Wings fan or a Flyers fans. You know something? I’ve seen more Flyers fans approve of Scotty. So take your dirty player comment and do whatever with it. Scotty was a true leader and warrior.

@@ohhhhh6269 Ask the majority of hockey fans and scott stevens name will come up as dirty he ended Lindros career. He hit people when they weren't looking. In todays nhl he be kicked out or suspended probably the season with those hits. He was known for that. Not saying he wasn't a leader. But I never remembered him being even close to Yzerman. If anyone on the devils was a leader it was Martin B. I don't even remember stevens scoring big goals. So what exactly did he do that was so great? Not being a dick, just wondering. Oh ya and lighten up a little bit! It was my opinion dawg!! Some people!!!

Majority?? Are you kidding me?? Watch Scott Stevens highlights and read the comments! Yea some will say dirty but many will say he was a respected warrior. Sorry man but you can’t convince me he was a dirty player. 2000 Conn Smythe winner bud. 😆. Captained his team to 3 cups.

No idea what a leader is. Guys a good D but no Norris trophies no gold medals. Average player at best! Idk what your idea of leadership is. But I'll keep laughing. What's weird is I just watched this tonight for the first time and over Steve's shoulder as he's talking is Vladdy. And Im thinking in 48 hours he'll be ruined by some fool behind the wheel . I understand why Steve came back to be the G.M. though now.
