Thank you for making this video!... I have owned my 67 Plymouth Barracuda (273 CommandoV8 2 barrel all orig) for 3 years, and from the day I bought it, it has never run properly. When I punch the gas, it coughs/farts, then goes.. I had the carb rebuilt, I had the distributor rebuilt, the timing is all right, I had 2 different mechanics work on it, then I took it to a "reputable Hot Rod Shop". They told me it's all adjusted to the best it can be, you'll have to rebuild the motor, it's old and tired (I wasn't buying that). I continued to mess with the mixture screws, nothing helped. Out of desperation I decided to pull that linkage arm, put it in the vice and bent it forward (shortened the distance between the two points), that helped tremendously, so I took it off again and gave it another tweak forward... and now the car runs PERFECT!@! The perfect squirt from the pump now. I never would have thought of doing that before watching this video, and obviously none of the guys that have mucked with my carb wanted (or knew) to do that either. I only wish I saw this 3 years ago. Nonetheless, I saw it now and this has solved a 3 year old SUPER ANNOYING issue for me. I think the value of my car has just gone up $5K!. THANKS RICK!

Great video Rick,,,I use a micrometers with depth gauge , one question, how do you know your metering rod is seated in the jet. I was always told to set the throttle butterfly just bearly open,,then let the metering rod bottom out in the jet,,,never had a issue but you do it differently. Am I doing it wrong. have the correct 17/64 at the plunger. Really great video,,know the seeing issue these days too.

I cannot tell where you are measuring from? The top of the plunger or the little spring above it? If it is the plunger then my carb is set correctly at 17/64 and I still have the fuel spilling out the top of the carb problem, checked the metering rod, checked the fuel pressure (good), and it is moving relatively smoothly, so I am at a loss on what is causing it and doing so intermittently. Ran for days having to take off the carb empty it & days & miles w/o issue17/64

sounds like float is set wrong if it flooding float is set at 5/64ths it should close gas off at that point

Rick,,,,Tell me if I did this OK,,,sure theres no difference,,,I put one fine thin pen mark on the pump rod,,then pushed it full open, and marked that ,,then measured the rod marks with my calipers wala,,,,17/64 th

Sorry, but I'm having a hard time hearing the numbers in the measuring with the ruler. In Denmark we use the metric system and I need to translate this. So what are the numbers?
