Seafoam is pretty good stuff when used as intended. If you put seafoam in the gas tank and poured it in the carb and let it sit for a few days you see an even bigger difference. It dissolves dirt.
The issue is that you have two jets in the carb. The smaller jet is mainly used during idle and that's the one that usually plugs up so that's why it will run when the choke is out or if you give it throttle. Cause it switches to the larger jet which normally wont plug solid.
Just keep the choke open and give a little throttle for few minutes spay some seafoam in the air intake for awhile and try to pull the throttle keep it running Till picks up RPM and it’s yours will clean him self . I do it every sring with out a dealer tun up .
If your handgun is causing your pants to fall down, you might want to consider some suspenders... If you don't like the look of suspenders, just wear them under the t-shirt so that they are not visible... It makes quite a bit of difference, especially with a heavy handgun...
Surprised no on had given me shit for this up till now haha. Really my Ruger SR9c isn't all that heavy, when I am at home I'm lazy and loosening up the belt for that home cooking is what happens. I use a ratchet belt that makes adjusting where the handgun sits pretty easy.
@@pharettface -- I carry various full steel semi-autos, so using wide suspenders underneath my shirt to distribute the weight makes quite a bit of difference. Probably the heaviest that I routinely carry is a Sarsilmaz K2-45 at 40.2 oz (empty weight, I think, so add 15 rounds of 230 gr .45ACP to that). Even my "compact" double-stack M1911 in .38SUPER++ (wildcat load) comes it at 2.5 lbs + ammo. Unless I want a very big heavy belt or cinched tight, suspenders are the only choice to keep it from sagging noticeably on one side.
I'm about to gain possession of a 1981 Honda cb650 inline 4 carbureted motorcycle WITH ONLY 31K miles on the clock! Hasn't been ridden in 20 years, and, my friend bought it brand new in '81! I need to refurbish the entire bike! Considering to put Seafoam® in the 3.7 gallon fuel tank to help clean out the carbs, recommendable or forget that step?! Doug🏍️😎🦅🤓
I’m having the same problem with my 1987 xr600 I just bought. She’s pretty hard to start and when you finally get her going she will just die if you don’t keep giving her throttle.
NOT knowing what gas you use, I would suggest you use the REAL REGULAR GAS not the gas with ETHANOL .. ADD the Seafoam(about 1 ounce or a shot glassful ) to the regular gas in the tank then just USE the engine for that tank .. Try that for at least a couple of Tanks ....but use the REAL REGULAR GAS , it does COST MORE but you GET A CLEANER BURNN with it
Usually, It can ..If you can get the engine started ..Clean the AIR FILTER on the carb FIRST Make sure it is VERY NICE AND CLEAN AND DRY .. IF you have OLD GAS in the tank DRAIN / POUR ALL THAT OUT AND START FRESH with REAL REGULAR NON ETHANOL GAS .. pour about an ounce of the SEAFOAM in the tank, add some gas, that helps mix the SEAFOAM ., Start the engine, If the engine starts, let it run, if it is sputtering jus let it run at high speed if you can get it there. If it is sputtering it should get better and better as it runs .. I have done this on several of my lawnmowers, Generator, and LOG SPLITTER and it does WorK. One of the keys is the REAL REGULAR GAS ..REGULAR GAS is more EXPENSIVE but it IS BETTER FOR YOUR SMALL ENGINES ... I use ONLY REAL REGULAR in BOTH OF MY TRACTORS BOTH RIDING LAWNMOWERS, BOTH OF MY PUSH MOWERS, LOG SPLITTER AND portable Generator...I ALSO USE A MR. FUNNEL FILTER That helps remove ANY WATER or other contaminants n the gas .. GOOD LUCK ...
I live dangerously. She made it over 20k miles before I sold her. The intake was also pretty clean so I don't think this was ever a big issue. These days I generally just put some extra air filter lube on the bottom and call it a day.
If your having this issue, take my advice replace the petcock to a manual one and do a full oil change. I think I am getting Hermit out of his trailer a little more these days...
@@IRONMAN-kb4su The thing that sucks about the vacuum petcock is they fail and leak into the top of the motor and oil. The gas vapors rising to the top of the engine then get sucked back into the motor from the oil vapor box. That leads to the airbox. Basically makes it so the engine runs so rich the hotter it gets it drowns and dies.

My bike has three jets. Main, idle, and choke. I believe my choke jet is clogged which is what I’m doing here 😕
Update. Took the lazy route and mixed seafoam in with my gas for a few tanks. The choke isn’t perfect but it’s at least functions now

I'm trying this today on a bike i havent started in 2 years. Lets see what happens!

Homie needs an airweight J frame
It’s funny when you say “letting it sit” is progress lol 😂 that was hilarious
It’s one oz per gallon of sea foam

Honestly I would just properly break it down, clean, and rebuild.
Having fuel problems with my KLR. Super entertaining because I feel your pain. Haha
reason im here all the time dam klr clogging up on car, have to clean it every week
Ahhh
i like it as a preventative measure. I pour a little bit each time i fill up

I was curious if you put air filter foam oil on your filter??? I strongly suggest you do........
Safe travels.............👀😎👍👋✌️🇨🇦

Huzzah to that!

Spray or apply that filter with filter oil i like to use a bag and squish the filter oil all over the filter
thx for removing the pack... looks better and can focus more on the info.
That is the exact same trouble i'm havin with my DRZ/SM 400 ! Missin my Hermit vids ..

@@pharettface Yup that's what mine is doing thank you very much for the know how Sir !
can someone tell me if the seafoam worked or not ?
Moral of the story was I may help but if the bike is running poorly due to carb issues don't waste your time with this and just clean and rebuild it
Not really sure
I think he put too much seafoam inside
Yay you're not dead! Does this mean you'll post more?...
That's the plan my friend!
Awesome! Can’t wait!
