      This video didn’t save me it saved the game from never being played again. Similar to civilisation in that there is zero effort from the devs to aid and educate you with what’s what.

    Nice to see that people still make videos on this game, I used to make 300+ colonies with super optimized housing blocks that could hold a bunch of people, sickness was a huge problem, had death waves of 80-100 per epidemic and already had 5 max hospitals running, but if you're at 300+ colonists they're merely ants, medicine gets instantly used, I actually had to make over 6 max upgraded cloth makers to keep up clothing production. Don't ask me about tools, it was legit impossible to get a surplus with that many people, food production was in the thousands. I think having 6+ max size farms really does something, difficulty wise it was a normal difficulty game.

      Awesome to hear! I think the highest population I had was about 400? But after 300 you can’t actually get anymore people. I think the game has a hard limit.

    Early/Mid game you only want the Medical Tent(s) staffed when you actually have sick people. Likewise the burial pit until someone is dead and needs processing, once they are in the pit, you don't need anyone staffing it. Early on with 7 adults you and 2 between the Medical tent and burial pit you are losing nearly 30% of your manpower on buildings that don't need staffing.
    It's also not really worth wasting resources on the logging camp and lumber yard until you open the main map, those are resources that can be used on the gate, and early game there are enough wood piles for wood collection.
    I would also say roads don't cost resources, but they do cost *time* which is functionally the same thing. Roads to watchtowers which will only have infrequent traffic is a waste.

      You are correct. We don’t need them that early but it’s better to have them and keep them unoccupied so when we do need them, they’re ready to go. It’s good to place down the buildings now to lay out the city and to build around that. We build roads to watch towers to avoid pollution and that also helps us establish a network outside our main city when we expand, thus laying down more groundwork for our colony.

      @@JaxRayne with the watchtowers, your workers prioritised the towers over the roads, making them walk through the pollution anyhow. It's only a few trips to construct a watchtower. And unless you are certain you are expanding towards a particular area it's a lot of time to construct that length of road.
      I prefer placing then pausing construction when planning rather than constructing then leaving empty, as it means you still have the resources in hand, or can spend them on the Gate and open up the map resources and the first set of extra survivors that inevitably come super early.

    Damn you got lucky with all the fertility and pollution. My lands were barren and only had spots of a lake. Still going strong though with about 100+ people 🎉🎉🎉

      I did not have any DLC in this series. I recently have bought the ultimate colony edition which has all the DLC and plan on doing a play through with that.

    Do the specialist you choose at the beginner have anything to do with ideology you select?

      They do not. I choose the specialists to get a scout and a scavenger at the beginning because I have no use for a fighter that early. I need a scout to discover faster and a scavenger to loot quicker.

    Yo quisiera saber como funciona la ia de los almacenes, en qué lugar es mejor construirlos, y por ejemplo, es mejor construr los edificios principales cerca del campamento principal y mover sus áreas de trabajo lejos? O es mejor construir el edificio cerca del suministro (arbol, venado, plástico, concreto, etc) y que caminen hacia el campamento principal para guardar las cosas?😢 Por favor, no encuentro guias en español, pero me gustó tu vídeo, trato de entender el inglés 😊

      Por favor disculpe mi español. Estoy usando un traductor ya que este no es mi idioma nativo. Construyo almacenes cerca de zonas de acopio. Por ejemplo, el recolector de plástico y el recolector de metal están cerca uno del otro y serían un buen lugar para un almacén, ya que los colonos no tendrían que viajar muy lejos. En este video, tengo a los recolectores en el campamento principal y muevo las áreas de trabajo por el mapa. Esto es bueno si tienes pocos recursos, pero es mejor construir los recolectores cerca de las pilas de recursos. Espero que esta traducción tenga sentido :)

      Una cosa, si coloco un almacén cerca de donde se está recolectando por ejemplo, el metal, cuando yo necesite metal para construir un edificio, el colono tendrá que ir a ese almacén para tomar el metal? O los almacenes se comparten y puede tomarlo de un almacén cercano

      @@gioproblemsxd2763 ¡Me alegra saber que funcionó :)! Los almacenes no se comparten. Un colono sacará de ese almacén específico para apoderarse del metal. Puedes consultar lo que hay dentro del almacén haciendo clic en él.

    Game looks nice, just that bear part was lame really, hate when a game lets u cheese it, its just weakness that devs didnt polish up.
    And moves also pretty badly, i hope u can just let your ai handle it with a good ai guy that is good at that etc.

      I get what you’re saying. I guess it was their way of making sure you’re not getting chased across the whole map but an unintentional side effect was cheesing the tether range.

      @@JaxRayne I read some people have different maps while entering the same seed id. Don't know what's the case. Anyways, thanks for the guide, it's very helpful!

      @@KaterynakiI’m glad to hear it’s helpful :) if you aren’t spawning a lake at the front, keep trying new games until you get one! You’ll eventually get lucky with one randomly generated.

      I had the same problem. I turned off DLC at the main screen and then used the seed and it was good. Hope this helps!

    Question. When I try to "Request Resource" from my food storage, the resource never comes. Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

      I never used that button but if I had to guess it’s because the request resources button is likely a “gather this resource first” button and not actually like a food delivery button.

      ​@@JaxRayne They say its supposed to transfer resources from one storage to another. For example, I need more fish at my colony center but there are none there. But I do have plenty of fish at my storage at the far north end of my colony. Someone is supposed to go to that storage and transfer it to the center storage. But it never comes. If you can possibly find anything out about that I would appreciate it so much. If not thanks for answering me anyway :)

      @@Quarthon Just another guess but they probably are bringing it BUT they're getting used quicker than they can be stored. Do you have enough carriers?

      @@JaxRayneYea I have usually 5 extra carriers at all times. As for them being used quicker than they can be stored I thought of that too. I dont think thats it. I did a new resource request and literally watched the storage to see if any at all came in and went out fast but still nothing came. The storage wasnt full either.
