2-Minute Tutorial: Watermelon Hammock

Trellising watermelon was a first, but making a hammock for the fruit??!! THAT was a real stretch for me. At which point should I put my baby melons in the slings?

When the melons get about baseball sized or when you feel they are in danger of breaking off because of their weight or position on the trellis, whichever comes first.
