I never thought Yami was stronger than Mereolona. In fact it’s clearly implied in the manga that she is the strongest among the captain.
However now that he comes back and have demon shenanigans in him. Well it’s very possible be might be stronger than her.
Also don’t forget that Yami dark magic can deal with demon so of course he will be more dangerous for Lucifero than Mereolona. Anyway we will see how it play out.

@@vanze6214 First every time she appeared to the black bulls, she basically bullies Yami. Even Yami doesn’t want to smoke with her. When you compare how Yami act with his company, with others captain and with her , you can clearly see a different dynamic where he is more humble.
Also she was the captain of the royal magic knight during the elf arc. Even others captains like Nozel submitted to her authority.
Also Yami in order to get stronger went toward Mereolona to become stronger and trained with her (even tho I think it’s anime canon, it’s not in the manga)
