The new video has been rescaled for 120 million final form Frieza and 150 million SSJ Goku, among a host of other changes. The power levels start to get a little crazy, but hey that's Dragon Ball!
About power levels and the numbers I used:
Power levels act as a general gauge of a character's overall fighting strength in Dragon Ball, which encapsulates a combination raw strength/destructive power, speed and durability. Official power level numbers are only known for a small subset of characters at a few snapshots in time. Thus to create a plot like this, most of the power level numbers had to be created/estimated by hand.
To create a compelling plot I erred on the conservative side and kept power levels relatively low, diverging from the official numbers at the end of the Frieza saga and focusing on the relative strengths of characters at any point in time. In other words, you won't see massive power scaling caused by multiplicative transformations. It makes for a better plot not to have numbers with too many trailing zeros and to not have most characters dwarfed by a couple with massive power levels. Also, there is little practical difference between having a power level 10 times more than someone else or 10,000 times more.
Also note that the plot generally only includes characters who are alive, relevant to the current story-line and have actually revealed their fighting power in some way. Therefore deities like Zeno and the Grand Priest that are known to be powerful but who never use their power or only use magic/special abilities are not listed and characters like Beerus and Whis are not listed while they are sitting on the sidelines.
At the end of the day, power levels should be taken with a grain of salt and are just for fun!

This version reduces the amount of bar movement quite a bit since power levels only increase. I also made it so that transformations occur in-place, so you don't have bars dropping off and new bars coming in for each new transformation.

Mr Popo is incredibly strong, remember that he could resist both SSJ Trunks and SSJ Goten’s attacks during the Majin Bu saga. Imagine if he could actually have defeated Raditz, Nappa, Vegeta and Freezer since he first appeared but he didn’t do shit because he was watering Kamisama’s plants.

It’s pretty amazing how every time Vegeta achieves a new form or state, his power positively skyrockets then almost immediately plateaus, while Goku maintains a steady pace the entire time.

Yeah, Piccolo's base form is pretty strong because his fusions become a part of his base power. His problem is that he doesn't have transformations beyond that to keep up with the Saiyans as the series goes on.

2:50 marks the moment Goku's power level went over 9.000
When Goku reached Namek, his real power lever were over 1million already, but he was hiding his aura, and he mentioned that as I remember. Also he could already transform to SSJ. So all the way till he met Freeza he was playing very carefully, gathering intel about enemies before making any move. And then used only the minimum required power to win.
So when they got info about 9000 it was only because the rest 99% of power was hidden.

Yeah, also Majin Buu was said to be "a thousand times more powerful than Frieza".. so his power should be in the billions, to say the least.
Yes and Freiza's final form he started at 1%. 120 million is minimum for him. Goku doing 20x kaio-ken puts him in range to fight this. SSJ is a 50x boost. The show was more consistent than people realize.

Cool video and the placings are fairly accurate throughout the timeline.. but the power levels are wildly inaccurate after the Namek Saga.
Frieza was 530,000 in base form and over 1 million in his second form. The power levels multiply exponentially after that but I still appreciate the effort in ranking them.

He was the reincarnation of king piccolo whose heart was completely black and he always did envy goku and suddenly he befriends with him. Though Vegeta has never changed his arrogance but he became good because of his family and it was a very gradual change.

If you're telling me training made him stronger, why has he never trained once before, ever, in the history of the series?? Their universe and planet were on the line plenty of times, and he just admitted he was of no help anymore. So the TOP was just new writers trying to make Master Roshi relevant again. Humans just couldn't compete with the otherworlders. Tien and Yamcha and Krillin stayed in the game well until the Android arc, then they just couldn't stay in the frontline roster anymore.

The official guide book has SSJ Goku from Namek saga at 150,000,000. When this guy couldn't even get that right then I knew there was no use continuing the video.
Knew it was wrong when it kept depicting Yamvha as stronger than Krillin during the first tournament after their training with Roshi. Yamcha himself states that could always hope for bronze, indicating that he knew he weren't beating either of those two kids.
Plus, IIRC Nappa was about 5000 and Goku was 8000 in the manga when he arrived vs Nappa

This perfectly summed up DBS power scaling. In BotG, Toriyama gave a powerscaling to Beerus that he was only 66% stronger than Goku as SSG. Because of this benchmark, after BotG Beerus and Whis are forced to arbitrarily increase in power just to justify why they're stronger than Goku in spite of Goku attaining SSB and KKx20 SSB. By the end of DBS, Android 17 is at 94 million units, almost half as strong as Beerus when last shown (Goku twice as strong for that matter). Power ranking logic thrown everywhere, because when you try to quantify things you realize none of it makes any sense.

Honestly, I was expecting the marginalization of formerly-important fighters like Piccolo and Android 18 to be worse than it was in Super. They didn't get treated too well but at least they weren't left out completely.
@@dark7element You are right my guy, piccolo is one of the 3 most iconic dragon ball characters in history. I was mad how much they disrespected him on the super anime but now that i have just read the manga the full moro arc he actually got the most screen time after goku and vegeta. Even that at the beggining i though the disrespect was keep going on him, but as the arc was progressing he was just amazing you should see him and gohan on action its like batman and robin they contributed against moros henchmen and also against moro himself. I still hope he will get more shine but it was truly great to see him get respected after this long. Still hoping that they would give him that god transformation that he so much deserves lol.
In Z he was the strongest fighter a few times, During the Frieza Saga Before Goku turned Ssj and During the Android saga before Vegeta and Goku hit the Hyperholic time chamber, Piccolo also hit the time chamber himself so we already know hes stronger than a super saiyan. Piccolo trains everyday so by the Buu saga (7 year time skip) Piccolo should at least be able to take care of Perfect Cell, then you have Dbs (Years later) Piccolo is able to win againts Ultimate Gohan in a battle meaning that he is at least stronger than Ssj3 Goku

Great to see some better balance here! So many just multiply and multiply made up amounts and magic jump others to catch up it’s crazy. It makes more sense to pull it back in and realize Beerus was telling the truth when he first met Goku.

It's interesting to see just how competitive Piccolo stayed through the entire series. I mean after a certain point he was never the strongest but he never truly fell off if these numbers are to the believed. Also weird to think that at one point Yamcha and Yajirobe were both some of the strongest characters.

Tbf a lot of it has to do with the fact Piccolo fused with people for power ups so there was no way for him to "revert" back to a less powerful form like with the saiyans, so although his PL stayed pretty high that was only because most of the time it was only compared against base form Goku, Vegeta, etc.

The first time he shows great ape kid goku, he's at 900. But he puts kid goku at 50 in base. Vegeta says that the oozaru form multiplies your strength by 10x. So either base kid goku should be at 90, or his oozaru form should be at 500

We see Yamcha as a joke simply because everyone else is fighting on the levels of gods/angels, but compared to your average human, he's miles above them (considering he went against saibamen and cell jrs). If he wanted to he could easily become a sport genius and just play whatever sport he felt like and easily win.
Yamcha's biggest accomplishment that no one has ever done is getting killed by a Saibaman.

Because Akira always wanted Krillin to be the strongest human ever in his show. He stated that in one of his interviews he "felt bad for making Krillin the comedy relief death ever season so Krillin will always be the strongest human" which i think is funny because I believe Yamcha dies more then him
