Spotted Doves 27Apr2022 Day 2

This is day two of our recording. We added a second camera to capture another angle and it is quite difficult trying to patch the videos together with different angles. At times, we want to show both angles but I think that is quite difficult to achieve without a multi-screen timeline.
The doves came back at around half seven this day and they have picked up the pace of gathering twigs. They started the day with one of them making calls to the other partner. Both of them spend some time preening one another before getting down to work. We noticed that the twigs that they are being gathered are now more "complex" (longer, branches and some of them have leaves on them). The doves are great workers, sharing the workload among themselves as one of them will aways stay behind to organise them. We can only imagine that the hidden stash is getting bigger. The doves take a break occasionally as we think they would be off to get food and water but always coming back. They are now invested in this process and the location. They left about half three in the afternoon. We will see them putting the nest together in the next few days.
