Love the tip about using a piece of embossed card stock as padding when mailing cards with raised embellishments. Much better than the folded paper towel that I use.
@@vickibk3 It really would depend on your card and the weight. For me, because I don't put a lot on my cards it's never been an issue. If in doubt, check with your post office.
@@vickibk3 normally if you don't go over 1/4 inch of thickness you are good with only 1 stamp. I took a piece of cardboard and cut a 1/4 inch slot into it. I check my cards if I'm not sure.
Where's the heart emoji rather than just the thumbs up? It's great to get these tips in order to come up with different and unique cards. Thanks, Jackie!
thanks so much Jackie for this great techniques love them all, but i never ever had thougt to emboss my envelops. What a great idea. Have a nice weekend. Greetings from Salzburg in Austria and thanks for the great job you do on all your tutorial. Allready learned sooooo much of you.
Thanks for these pointers. I emboss a lot, but loved the one where you emboss plain paper to put on your card with sequins or other decorations. Good idea.
Great video with really good helpful advice. I’d love to have you to get items from but I’m in England and the postage would be expensive! I so love your videos. Big hugs from living room Sussex 🥰💕🐶🐶👍👍😍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇺🇦 in the box
Thanks so much but I'm only allowed to sell in the U.S. You can contact Stampin' Up! to find a demonstrator local to you. I love having you here to watch and learn though!
Thank you Jackie. You definitely came up with several ideas I haven't heard before. Like protecting embellishments. Only running half the folder. Using foil cardstock. The quilted look. I need to re-watch and write them all down.
I've tried partial embossing by letting the cardstock hang off the edge of the folder but you get an unsightly line across it that way. I always thought you weren't supposed to run things partway through your machine and then back it up, so I never tried it that way. Your results are beautiful!
You have to click the drop-down arrrow and it's in different places depending on what device you are watching from. You can always find those details on my blog www.klompenstampers.com
WOW, what awesome tips, Jackie! Your tip on the extra embossed layer to protect rhinestones won't really work, as Dutch Post have increased postage to almost one dollar ... based on weight. Adding just one extra card stock layer will cost double! And, as a card maker, I send many cards, as I'm sure you do too.
I don't think I have any of doing them in the water but here is a video showing how to accomplish the mirror technique th-cam.com/video/gYLQo2KvKgw/w-d-xo.html
Any tips for embossing with Big Shot Foldaway? Thinner embossing folders from Michael’s and Hobby Lobby won’t emboss as they are too thin- If I add the second clear plate it is too thick to pass through the machine.
3D folders give varying impressions throughout the paper that you are embossing. The 3d folders, because of their details are thicker folders than the standard embossing folders.
Great ideas Jackie, thanks for sharing. Wondering if you have any control about how many ads interrupt your videos, it has gotten beyond enjoyable with every couple of minutes an ad pops in and then to wait for the video to start again. I am asking because it seems they are picking your videos more than other demonstrators that I watch.
I'm sorry that's not something I control but remember----it's the ads that make the money for YT which is what allows it to be a free platform for us to use.
I don't think there is anything you can do to flatten it, but it should still work. the reason it bends is because you may not have the sandwich correct and it's putting too much pressure on it. Check to make sure you have the sandwhich for your machine correct.
Love the tip about using a piece of embossed card stock as padding when mailing cards with raised embellishments. Much better than the folded paper towel that I use.
I'm so glad you like that tip Linda!
Is additional postage necessary if this method is used?

Thank you, Jackie! ❤
Have a stamp happy day, Suzy!
Jackie, this is a FANTASTIC video! You gave me so many great ideas. I really need to try the inked folder technique.
That's such a fun (and easy) technique--enjoy it!
Very helpful ideas. I still have the big shot so I need to get the #4 plate for 3D embossing folder. Thanks

@@KlompenStampersJackieBolhuis Oh, I know, Jackie! It's just those silly Dutch!
Do you have any videos on how to do a mirror image in the water and if not can you show one

.when you run your cardstock in two embossing folders does one not be embossed so much.
No, it's not a problem at all.
Do you mist your paper with water before embossing?
You don't need to.
Any tips for embossing with Big Shot Foldaway? Thinner embossing folders from Michael’s and Hobby Lobby won’t emboss as they are too thin-
If I add the second clear plate it is too thick to pass through the machine.
I'm sorry, I am unfamiliar with that machine and how it works. I would suggest contacting where you purchased it from and see what they recommend.
What's the difference between a 3D folder and a regular folder. What makes it 3D?
3D folders give varying impressions throughout the paper that you are embossing. The 3d folders, because of their details are thicker folders than the standard embossing folders.
