It's a really good idea to reinforce the diff cradle and the engine mounts while you have those bits accessible. They were never strong enough for the job they have to do when they left the factory.
@@AstonTorslanda Also, the bracket that is mounted on the chassis cross member that takes the long bolt through the rubber mount on the front end of the diff cradle. They are notorious for failing and when they do it will give you a cardiac arrest. (Luckily I had a defibrillator in the car at the time!)
@@Andrew-jh5uv Yeah.. hand built car where everything is either a left over from the DB4 or an afterthought. I'm in the final stages of a bare metal restomod and I have made so many upgrades and changes I have lost count.
I had to tack on two outside rails to my spit and then cut out the central rail to rotate my TR3A. It was meant to be temporary but that is how it is today. Again great progress and thanks for sharing.
@@AstonTorslanda The TR3 and the spit are long gone now. I just tacked on an outside rail from front to rear on both sides then cut off the central rail to enable me to rotate the body. I was in a lock up and had very little headroom. Your video vividly reminded me of my challenge.
Hello, I get addicted to your videos, very good content. Can you please tell me the name of the orange paint you use to protect your panels from rust. It seems easy to use and seems to accept the weld.
Peter has been inducted into the Fire Extinguisher Club! A great honour and not bestowed on everyone (unless they turn their back) 🙂
They really got me there....😅
Had to be done.. ;-)

Guys great advice they are lovely cars but OMG build quality etc 🙄
Ah, ok, we will do that.. thanks for the advice..
I know, sadly. But on the flip side, we wouldn't have one if they were all in good condition..

It would be better to weld in a full U section to the NS centre chassis rail. Less welding and more satisfactory.
Do you have any images? Not quite sure where you mean..
Thanks for watching, hopefully you will get the TR off that spit..
