I had chemotherapy last year for 4 months for breast cancer. I also get cramping not just on my foot but it extends up to my leg and sometimes the cramping happens to both legs at the same time. The cramping can last for about half an hour. It will start from my foot then it will extend to my leg. I notice my toes fan out when I'm cramping and so I try to hold my toes together and eventually my foot will relax and the cramping will go away. Just like to you, I didn't have any cramping before in my life but after having cancer and chemotherapy, the cramping has just been regular. I still don't know what the explanation is but I'm glad you discussed this. Now I can almost point to chemotherapy as the culprit. Thanks for your post. May God bless you to continue to be healthy and cancer free.

Thanks for sharing your experience, McGarcia4118. I'm so sorry to hear you've been experiencing such intense foot/leg cramps. Up to half an hour? That's awful. I hope you have techniques to help you manage it. Sometimes I worry that mine will become more sensitive - kind of like what's been happening with you. I worry that it won't stay isolated to my foot but extend to my leg. But so far it has been pretty isolated to my foot which I am very grateful for. I do think chemo has something to do with it because chemo affects our nerves. I wonder if foot cramps might be a form of neuropathy? Nerves misfiring? Thanks for your kind words and I hope you continue to be healthy and cancer free too.

Unfortunately I too feel these pains but mines are so intense I just lay their waiting for hours until it stops. I started my first chemo 7days ago and this pain in my foot legs and body started 3 days ago
The tramadol that has been prescribed to me is like eating candy it does absolutely NOTHING for the pain. A friend told me to try marijuana and I’m not a smoker whatsoever. Buttt unfortunately at this point I’ve given in and have been smoking marijuana for 2days just so I won’t feel the pain. The marijuana actually cuts out so much pain that I actually feel like myself
I can walk and drive and feel normal with my kids and dogs
I’m embarrassed because I have to smoke and I’m not this person
I’m in pain right now and has been for almost 2hrs
I gotta go pray for me and my family

Have you tried to apply pressure to the bit of skin/muscle in between your big toe and the toe next to it? That worked well for me. Cramps are just so awful.

Sorry, bestamerica. I don't understand your comment. :( Cramps are muscle cramps but nerves control our muscles, right? So they are one and the same?
