I am a fellow hodgkins lymphomie! Recently relapsed, recovering from a stem cell transplant. I have binge watched all of your videos and felt such a release listening about your feeling of loneliness and lingering sadness, it made me feel less lonely, thank you so much.

Thank you for commenting, Lucia. I am glad we can find some solace in each other's feelings of loneliness and lingering sadness. :( Cancer evokes such complicated and melancholic feelings... I still feel it now from time to time.

So much of what you are going through resonates with me. Had chemo 3 years ago and still only work 4 days a week. Have to plan weekends to have one day of total rest and make sure I get enough sleep and have meals on time otherwise the fatigue gets the better of me. Am thankful for being able to do things now that I was not able to for a long time but my energy levels do not allow me to have a demanding job and a social life.

Ugh, I hear you. Even though I'm sad you struggle with it too, it is deeply comforting that I'm not alone. I'm not alone with the fatigue or the deep frustration and anger that comes along with long-term fatigue. Thanks for sharing Rika. Thank you so much.

So glad to see you again. Listening to your experience is both saddening and validating. I saw a greeting card that said: “Together we can find a cure for ‘What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’.” The experience of cancer doesn’t ever “just” go away. That’s why I think cancer support groups or activities have people who are a decade and more out of “active treatment”. It sucks that we have to go through this. It helps to know though, we are NOT alone in this. Thank you for your vids. BTW, I think you’re beautiful and your future will be richer in ways you maybe can’t see right now. You’re busy and feeling overwhelmed and I’m the same. I had autoimmune disease before cancer so not being(?), or feeling well was a familiar state pre-cancer. Disappointment and it’s associated emotions is a familiar state. Maybe our overwhelm is an opportunity to practice self-compassion. This may be a path for helping with our anger and frustration. In the end, perhaps compassion will lead us to the life balance and contentment we strive for and our society (or media?) claims is attainable. Anyways, coming from a place of more self-compassion might help you “manage” your chosen career and it’s effects on your personal life too? I’m no expert. Maybe cancer will lead us to a satisfaction we’d never imagined. I don’t know. Paradox is a weird thing. Cheers from Ontario, Canada where it’s already -17c at night, ugh lol. Sigh...😝🧘‍♀️😌💕🤗🇨🇦

It's so lovely to read a comment for you again, A Remedy Project. It sucks so much that we have to go through this. And you're right, it's so comforting knowing we're not alone. I try my best to practice self-compassion. I have lots of opportunity to practice it (hah!) and it does help. I just have two very strong powerful sides to me - the ambitious unrelenting one and the compassionate patient one. Plus, every time fatigue overwhelms me, it's a reminder of my cancer experience and flares up my fear of being diagnosed again in the future. It's all so interconnected! Anyway, thanks for commenting. I hope you're doing well and taking care of yourself.

I’m so very sorry that you have to deal with these issues. Yes maybe others have it much worse but never undermine what you’re going through. Think many people just take so many things for granted

Thank you for this reminder. It's hard not to compare yourself to people worse off. I think it's important to keep things in perspective but it's also valid to express my suffering with the lot I've got. It sucks. Thanks for commenting, The Mad Crafter.

Most welcome. Think it’s something that so many of us do when we have to remember that one persons suffering is no less or greater than another. Suffering is suffering period.

Hey sorry to hear you're doing it tough. Totally relate to having to deal with a limited amount of energy, definitely something I need to get better at managing (I'm 11 months post chemo).
I think you're right to assume that getting fitter is not the solution. I'm super fit now, best shape I've been in years, but often find myself hitting the wall and becoming wiped out for days. In some ways it might be unhelpful being too fit because it gives you an avenue to burn through your energy super fast. Sure I feel great exercising, but not worth it if I have nothing left for everyday life.
Anyway thanks for sharing, hope things improve for you.

Hey Tim. Sorry to hear you're also struggling with fatigue/energy.
That's a great point about exercise. I've noticed I have to balance it. I have to keep regular exercise - but nothing too intense. And if I'm already feeling tired from the day or from the week, it's best I rest and sleep then push through. There are days where I get really anxious about putting exercise off because I'm hyper aware of how important exercise is for health. But... I also have to get through, and enjoy, the week. Thanks for sharing that. I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds exercise both helpful and sometimes unhelpful for fatigue management.
I hope things improve for you too!

I feel you on that one. I'm going on 4 years now cancer free and like you I'm super active and love to exercise but I've always found it hard to find the right amount of exercise without completely depleting my energy. Mental exercise is just as important though! 👍

I had Hodgkin 45 years ago and was never told or aware that there were so many side effects from chemo. For some time I had chronic fatigue but then it disappeared completely. I had two children when I had it and went back to work about 7 years later and many symptoms disappeared. What is this light sensitivity you have and was it caused from chemo.

    • @isendathinks7588

Oh I really hope my chronic fatigue disappears like yours did! Pleaseee!!! I'm still struggling with it and it's really getting me down. Yes my light sensitivity was also caused from chemo.
