I really like the idea of a screw under the bottom to help hold it up plus screwing the straps to the tree. Easiest setup I've seen yet. Good stuff. Will be trying this out.
My daughter and I made three out of a ten foot section, at a cost of about $20 each. Easy enough make and should serve our purpose well. Thanks for the detailed tutorial.
All you need straight pipe with a cap and camouflage paint sprayed on there. put pipe on an angle were corn won't fall out I've been doing that for 30 years works out good
looks nice, but looks challenging to fill. In my area, i would be worried the hogs would knock it off that screw. I'd probably have to add a 30" piece of pipe for support. thanks for sharing
I might paint my next one with woods type Colors. I’m an Automotive Painter. There’s a process to use a plastic cleaner and adhesion promoter. Tough as nails when done correctly. I also like to pull off leaves, branches etc and hold against the pipe after a couple Colors are applied then hit them with Color. Looks like real tree, tapes fine, but pricey in Canada..
I took a router bit and just scarred up the side of that PVC and took a 90 in a 45 degree and put it on and then I sprayed it with brown and gray paint for one little hole in the back on both sides if I could do a tree just remember to cut it off every year
Do not use mesh tape on the drain piece at the base. Otherwise, rain water will collect there. You want any moisture to pass through. Instead of tape, use 3 screws around the perimeter to hold it in place. I've used this same system for over 20 years.
From a ladder I would assume.... I like the overall design but think I'll come up with a quick detach system rather than screwing the strap to the tree. With it that tall and semi permanently mounted it looks like it'd be a PITA to fill...
Easier and cheaper...drain tile. 4' section with a "mouse hole" at the bottom...strapped to a tree. Cap it if you want...doesn't matter, the corn will all disappear just the same.
I had lots of deer coming in day and night! I put one of these out and not a Single deer came to it! So i took it down and guess what? The deer started coming back!
I think that you wasted several dollars on the tape. The deer do not give a damn as to what it looks like, they are after the corn. I left mine white and I have as many as 9 deer at my feeder at one time. I also have a sight gauge on mine that lets me know when it is getting low on corn.
Why do you feed the deer? If you want the deer to find food, than why do you camo tape it? I don't think you're supposed to feed any wildlife. None of this makes any sense.
By your message I take it your not a deer hunter or a turkey hunter that's why you don't understand why we hunters put food out for wildlife. It so we pull the deer in to our feeders to keep them from eating the beans in the field and so we can shot them and put food on our tables.

Let me know how yours turns out!
Deer eat off the ground. So lower is more natural for them. That also makes it easier to refill it.

Did exactly as you described! I’m a handy guy and expected to improve it somehow, but didn’t need too. Thanks!
Excellent!!!

Thank you

This is a great idea!!! I’d like to see your finished piece
Just completed my first one! Love it. I have it soaking in the woods in front of a game camera and can't wait to see what comes to nibble.
Let us know how it's doing now.
@@JessesWorkshop it is the best one I’ve made! I will put up photos and video in a review later. I kept it up allllll year.
I went and picked up the supplies from home depot, cost me a little over $100.

Been making em for years , good info on how to for sure ……make mine shorter so I can fill easily
Right on
Why not just flat brown paint it for $3.99. we used to make these 20+ yrs ago. They were really cheap to make back then
Can't find spray paint at my local Walmart now
Agreed. Painting, much much easier. I'd also just prime and glue the joints, then just rachet strap to tree 👍
Great idea for a DIY feeder.
I made one one of these and how to keep the squrels out
Good and simple information on the know how....👍
Glad you liked it
I spent $20 for sewer pipe, $ 7.50 for WYE at a plumbing supply store.
How much corn does it take to fill it up? Just wondering.
Just a few pounds

Just paint it bro .. but that’s a badass feeder … I really like it .. gonna make a few and see how they do
Paint chips away, tape lasts longer. Show is what you make. 👍🏼
You'd need a ladder to fill/refill?
Not a ladder but usually a bucket or a milk crate. Sometimes, depending on which tree I put it in I can use another branch .
thank you, this was a very helpful video!
Thank you for watching. 👍🏼👍🏼
How do you keep it from filling with snow or freezing?
How come you didn't show the challenges of taping the Y?
Wonder if I can get an end cap that already got the screen built in so I don’t have to mess with that stick tape boocrap?
Hmmm, if you do find one let us know.
Camo spray paint, use some leaves and sticks as stencils.
Great idea!
Ok Jesse nice video but can you tell me how much you paid for the 4" wye?
Probably just under $8.
$18 under sleepy Joe's administration lol 😆
The pipe was definitely cheaper a couple years ago. I just enjoy having the deer come in...
Yep, a lot cheaper a couple of years ago, I did put a feeder together and it works great. Thanks
Nice video
Thank you!
idk where you’re getting your PVC but a 4” 10’ schedule 40 is $40 now
At the time of this video the pipe was so much cheaper.
Is the camo needed?
Only needed if you don’t want to look at a white pipe.
@@JessesWorkshop LOL. So THAT's why my wife demanded camo condoms....!
Haha!!!! 😂
@@Crackhouts bend me up lol 😆
Why camo it??? It’s not like your trying to hide it from the deer?
Game wardens...
Camo so we're not looking at ugly white pipe in the trees
How do you fill it ?
Pour corn in from the top
@@GWBarker lmfao 🤣
I just pour corn in from the top

I like that don’t trust the media. Never did.
smart!
people its 6in sdr 35....not 4in dwv...but it would still cost you 75bucks for mat
too many bears in my area...but good idea
Thank you. Yeah, bears will tear it up
Prices r dubble in 2021! 1 as 5 feet & 4" pvc cost me $48!!
you must be buying the schedule 40. just get the thin wall drainage pipe. 10 ft shouldn't run over $20.
That's bed shit.. nm 48 bucks under biden administration lol 😆
Probably 74 bucks now in 2022! Oh joe what an amazing job.
Easier and cheaper...drain tile. 4' section with a "mouse hole" at the bottom...strapped to a tree.

Just pour corn on the ground. It’s really just that damn simple.
It is that simple but I'm trying to keep this for the deer only. The other animals eat from a different location
Eight dollars of tape? Why not two dollars of paint, deer done care what color a is, when they find corn they could care less what color it is!!
Paint doesn't last as long as the tape does. Paint chips off and looks bad
Don't leave it out or the squirrels will chew a hole in it,then it will be their house.
Now show me how you fill it
I just reach up, pull the cap off and use a feed scoop to pour it in. Usually 9 scoops is enough.
10’ 4” pvc pipe - $35.
F!J!B!
Lol, indeed!!! 💪🏼🇺🇸
$42 for drainage and $53 for schedule 40, both 4 inch

The tape is not for the deer. I put the tape on so it’s not so unsightly from the house. I like the sight gauge idea. 👍🏼
Fill up with water .
Haha, yes
Would work great if it kept the raccoons from getting at it.
Can you raise it up higher? I’ve had no issues with the raccoons.
@@JessesWorkshop just did that tonight,I’ll see how it goes.
👍🏼👍🏼
Not really sure how you all are still getting plumbing supplies for under $50😂 just the wye alone is at least $30 and that’s for 4in pipe…😢
No matter how good it makes you feel you shouldn't feed deer
Why?
Hey Kelly it's not about the feeding!
You realize people feed deer to.... shoot them, right?
@@ryanrisko7328 We feed deer and to not to shoot them! We don’t allow it on our property.
