I will have to agree, sorry i was so late in reading your comment! But thank you for this Awesome comment. No lie it made me smile to see it! Thank you personally for commenting and watching my video!
Made these for last season. They worked awesome. I literally just got done making another set for the new lease I am on. Great video and instruction. Planned on doing the sight level, but decided not to.
You could always cut the notch out before cutting the pipe to length. Easier to manipulate a 5ft section and more distance between the saw blade and your hand. Great video!
I like the cartridge design. Mod: Make the elbow a tee. At the bottom, add about 6 inches of pipe so the assembly can be strapped above and below the tee so it will not twist as easily. Of course plug the top of the bottom piece so corn won't just sit in the bottom 6 inches.
Mathew Luna , added a y above elbow, adding an additional 36” tube. Held over 40 lbs of feed. Can’t figure out how to transfer pic. Thanks again for this idea. Coons haven’t figured it out yet haha
2 problems with my design. Water leak at Y for 36 in tune. Glued it. My top tube is 5 ft +. Hard to get in place, used your shut off idea. Thanks again. I’ve now built 6
Just found this video, really good idea. I already have a couple feeders out, and the sight gauge nut and weight is a hell of an idea. I'll definitely be incorporating it into mine. Thanks!
I use corrugated drain pipe...it's already made in black, plus it won't smell from the paint. Thx for the "usage gauge" idea....i'll use that....a friend of mine has a vintage two-seater plane and his "gas gauge" is sorta like that....a cork with a thin metal like for flagging water lines in the tank and a cork on top....as he uses gas the float goes down the cork on top keeps the wire from going thru the hole in gas cap.
Rob. Pickard you can get the pvc in black also and it’s called ABS Pipe and is at Lowe’s and Home Depot also. It is used strictly for drain pipe and has all the same fittings as pvc does but is a tad thinner wall than pvc but won’t matter for this at all. Good luck this season!!!!
Current price in Aug 2020, $22.68 before tax and paint/duct tape. This is without the sight level also. Not bad considering the Moultrie gravity feeder is $20 and the On Time T post is about $50-60. Even the bag that mounts to a tree is $20. You get 2 for that price and I will say it again, THEY WORK AWESOME.
It is not necessary to mount it 4 feet in the air. Mine sits on a 6" block of wood and works just fine for me. I left my feeder plain white and the deer do not really care. They are just after the corn.
Great video. Do you think this could be built and still be functional without the coupler and separate pipe section on the bottom, before the 90 deg secion?
Hey thanks for the view and comment. So 100% this could be made without the coupler. just leave the top open so you can reload the corn. so the 90 degree elbow will have a wider opening that will allow you to slide the pipe into it. hey thanks for the great feed back!
No, not anything major anyways. I didn't use the sight because I'm not home enough to check them every week. I work on the river for 22 days at a time. So I'm sure by the time I get home it'll need refilled anyways. I did use some eye bolts at the top of the top of the feeder to hook the straps into for some extra support. But still spent just under $40. Eye bolts were only 75 cents a piece. Almost used a wye fitting instead of the 90 but decided not to.
okay thanks. my friend made one with a coffee can and instead of the elbow at the bottom, he cut a small opening, almost like a triangle at the bottom of the pipe so the bait or feed that he used fell out as the deer ate it
Well yes and no. If you put one of these on the tree then yes, if you put one a tee post or something slick then you will keep the animals down! thanks for the comment and review
So those caps are just 4in sewer pvc caps. but i just looked up a 4in test cap and it was $2.20. I think it will work. might have to glue it though. (not the top cap though) but i was looking at the price of the 4in pvc cap and the price has went up .30 cents. $2.39. nothing get cheaper these days.
as far as smell plastic constantly gives off gas so glue and paint should be ok just build and let set for a wk then put it in place me I'm a hunter so don't use bait or feed deer no sport in waiting for me
Probably the best designer for a feeder found on the internet!! And I've looked at numerous plans. Thanks for the info!!
I will have to agree, sorry i was so late in reading your comment! But thank you for this Awesome comment. No lie it made me smile to see it! Thank you personally for commenting and watching my video!
Nice video pal! Very practical and informative
Thanks 😊 for the easy feeder project.

I like your feeding trough at the bottom. Great design! Nice idea with the sewer pipe as well... good job!
This is a great idea. God Bless
If you tie a piece of flagging tape to the nut on your sight gage it makes it a lot easier to see. I have done it and it works for me.

Great video Easy to make work good 👍
Just got the materials to build 2 great design thanks great video
Best feeder I have seen. Got all the bases covered! Definitely building this style.
Super idea, I’ve added an extra component. I’ll send pic. Thanks again. Made 2 so far
What did you add?
Mathew Luna , added a y above elbow, adding an additional 36” tube. Held over 40 lbs of feed. Can’t figure out how to transfer pic. Thanks again for this idea. Coons haven’t figured it out yet haha

Awesome idea , thanks for the info
Still relative over a year later. I'm building these! Thank you for the video.
Nice job.
Pretty cool and great job on the video 👍
Just found this video, really good idea. I already have a couple feeders out, and the sight gauge nut and weight is a hell of an idea. I'll definitely be incorporating it into mine. Thanks!
Use the top cap as a scoop into the bags of corn, you can quickly fill the feeder while it stays vertical and strapped to the tree.
Awesome video and very informative. I’ll be making some of those this year for my property. Thanks!!
Great video! I love the step by step process.
Cool stuff and thank you for sharing 👍🏽
Thanks for the details....gotta make my own deer feeder

How would this hold up for bears? We occasionally get them messing with stuff
Great video! How much corn does it hold and about how long does it usually last before having to refill?
great idea making a few tonight
Great feeder I will bild one for sure , thank’s
How far off the ground would those be mounted
Great ideas. I'm in So. TX and the hogs are so bad I'm looking for anything that will help.

Thanks for the info.very informative/hello from Louisiana...
Great design Bro!
Awesome feeder 👍
How do you prevent squirrels, chipmunks etc. from eating the corn?
I like that home made stuff.....
Nice
Great, helpful video!
Does it work well for protein pellets or powders like rice bran?
It is not necessary to mount it 4 feet in the air. Mine sits on a 6" block of wood and works just fine for me. I left my feeder plain white and the deer do not really care. They are just after the corn.

thanks bro you taught me something
I like creative videos like this
I like the channel
Really cool stuff man...first time seeing your channel and subbed...
I made 4 of them over the weekend. About to go hang them up.
Nice man, did you change anything up. I always like to ask to see how it can be improved. Thanks for the comment!

nice, did you go bigger pvc, i like the eye bolt ideal.
No. Stuck with the 4" sewer pipe. I'm really glad with how they turned out. Just tagged you in the post on instagram.
Thanks for the Instagram tag, if your a deer hunter check out the automatic deer sprayer on my channel. Think you will like it man. thanks again
You might need to put a patent on this lol good job. Shark tank 🤔
Does having the bottom 3ft off the ground, help keep raccoons out?
Anson Rinesmith it does actually it’s at a natural height for deer. Dr.Kroll a whitetail bio recommendation is 42 “
thx bud
I've made simaler. And it freezes up
Cool idea!
That is genius!
+Ray White thanks for the nice comment. Lol I hope you build one and like it also. Thanks for the view and comment
Ray White lol that's Kentucky for you! Lol
WV for me!
That is nice pretty cool
Don’t understand the point of the sleeve. Why not skip that and just make it longer?
could you use a coffee can as a cap
Brent C. I don't see why not if it fits over the pipe it should be good to go, will even make it cheaper. Thanks for the comment and veiw!!
okay thanks. my friend made one with a coffee can and instead of the elbow at the bottom, he cut a small opening, almost like a triangle at the bottom of the pipe so the bait or feed that he used fell out as the deer ate it
Good idea. Those end caps are for some reason stupidly expensive in the UK at least.
I use to work at a PVC pipe plant an it's basically sold by the pound, so the lighter the weight the cheaper it's gonna be
do you find these just end up feeding squirrels and raccoons?
Well yes and no. If you put one of these on the tree then yes, if you put one a tee post or something slick then you will keep the animals down! thanks for the comment and review
Also are the caps you're using the labels test caps?
So those caps are just 4in sewer pvc caps. but i just looked up a 4in test cap and it was $2.20. I think it will work. might have to glue it though. (not the top cap though) but i was looking at the price of the 4in pvc cap and the price has went up .30 cents. $2.39. nothing get cheaper these days.
thanks..
good stuff
Thanks for the sub man, more to come
is that a cold dog i hear??
I love uuu
I just use a Y on the bottom
I feel you pain on that question "why are you not in the wood"...
setting the feeder up will keep the wild hogs from gorging on the corn.
use a RIVET is more strong and not domageable for deer to compare of screw and glue :P
5/16 is bigger than 1/4".
as far as smell plastic constantly gives off gas so glue and paint should be ok just build and let set for a wk then put it in place me I'm a hunter so don't use bait or feed deer no sport in waiting for me
Really good
Seriously? 5 add's
Whats that monstrosity on the end, poor deer will cut their noses on that
Under $20 you holding a $30 pipe
Old design
I made four for freeeeeee
How dare you assume the ends gender 🤣🤣🤣
Talking and slapping to long
