A lot of the confusion comes from those 2 unnamed windows obviously, which you made a great job clarifying. I wish there was an official substep called "attack declaration" before the battle step. Thanks also for articulating well and not using too much slang, it makes the discussion well understandable for your international audience. Something i am sure you are well acquainted with now that you live abroad. Keep up the good work !
Your content of ruling is amazing, that's why I'm a sub. Can you share where did you find the rulings for 'call back' the declared monster's attack? Also if you are available for response ruling questions in GOAT. Thank you
yugioh.fandom.com/wiki/Replay "Prior to May 2006 in the TCG, if a replay occurred and a new attack target was not selected immediately, the monster that attacked could still declare an attack at another point during that Battle Phase. This is no longer the case, so if a new attack target is not selected during a replay, the monster that attacked cannot attack for the rest of that Battle Phase."
...That explains why Blue-Eyes Jet Dragon couldn't attack via Replay in Master Duel if I both used it to attack and used its effect to bounce a monster back to hand.
Would you explain the kinetic soldier/limiter removal explanation quick again? Because limiter doubles original atk as chain link 2? Confused on that one
i think it would go 1350x2 then +2000 =4700 during damage step, but it could be different if you opoment first chain a effect during dmg step? im curious too to be honest
@Goat Duels: does the End of damage step in goat format only have one chain also compare to the Modern rules. For example in goat format if the end of damage step is one chain. for example in goat format if the end of damage step is one chain, and pyramid turtle is destroy by battle and I special summoned Ryu kokki then my opponent can activated botomless trap hole, since that would be in a new chain and their for not the end of damage step, while that same play my opponent made would be an illegal play in modern yugioh since their is more then one chain in the End of damage step.
Very helpful, a question I had was regarding cyber jar If you attack - who sets up first ? If you flip it - who sets up first ? This problem comes up more often then not, anyway good stuff
You can't wait for the 2000 boost to resolve and then Limiter, because it's a new chain. You can chain Limiter to the boost as cl2, and then it still won't go to 6700, because you resolve the chain backwards.
Hey, great video. I have one question though: you said the difference in goat format is, that in the damage step, you can only use counter traps, ss2 stat modefiers, and trigger effects. What is exactly the difference to current yugioh? I thought you can also just use those things during the damage step in current. Just wondering🤔
@@GoatDuels My other comment got deleted, probably because of a link. So again without a link, according to other sources, monsters that negate activation can still be used in damage step in goat, just spells and traps with spell speed 2 can't. So example that would be illegal according to your video, but legal with other sources -> Activate metalmorph in damage step, chain A-Team: Trap Disposal Unit to negate the activation (as long as A-Team: Trap Disposal Unit wasn't the target of the attack).
@Kite: In general, monsters that negate activations cannot be used in the damage step in Goat Format. For example, Gravekeeper's Watcher cannot be used in the damage step. A-Team has a very weird ruling, where it can be used in the damage step, but only if it's not being involved in the battle (in contrast to current Yugioh, where it being involved in battle is entirely irrelevant).
@@GoatDuels I thought it was the Gravekeeper's Watcher that is the outlier here, since it activates in hand. For example damage step rush recklessly, chain Dark Paladin to negate the activation is legal.
Still depressed Royal Oppression cannot be used in Damage Step. I think it would enable a lot more aggro decks outside of generic Warrior or combo decks.
@@dragon-id5uj Royal Oppression cannot work on cards like GK Spy or any of the recruiters because those occur in damage step which heavily limits its power in GOAT format.
Battle would be less complicated if they just put the spell speed on the card somewhere. it’s confusing for new players to understand what speed certain traps are without an explanation on the card. Also take backs during an attack initiation is so broken. 😂
Not at the moment. There are a few ways that you can send me small donations on TH-cam using "Thanks," "Join," and Super Chatting during my streams (I plan to start streaming again soon). There will be even more ways to support Goat Duels in the near future.
2:17 what the fuck are you talking about? They are literally called "attack declaration window" and "before damage step window". Those are literally their names!
Can I MST the quipped monster of a thousand eyes in the "second window" and it is forced to crash into my monster since it no longer got the attack boost? (Without them being able to say "I wish to longer attack")

I think attack declarestion is actual official term
uhm next time can u make one for people who are 5 and also high
You should be able to understand this game more while high, it defies time and space. But with time on the chain
Wow. Super helpful for me as I’m slowly learning ruling specifics for Goat format. Thanks man!

Believe me. This video is more necessary than you may actually think. I also wanted to know if 3:04 this applies for modern format as well
Yes, this applies for modern format as well as all other Yu-Gi-Oh formats.

Very important rulings! Most players don’t know this!
Useful and well summarized
Had to replay this video at least 5 times. I will probably replay it again during a match lol
Great content, especially important for people playing paper to clear up confusion they could be playing with for years

The turn player sets up first.
Is there a list somewhere of all the rules differences between goat and modern ygo?
the 2chains part was amazing lolol
Very good content! i just don't understand why u can't use limiter removal on kinetic soldier, is it because it's considered a second chain?
You can't wait for the 2000 boost to resolve and then Limiter, because it's a new chain. You can chain Limiter to the boost as cl2, and then it still won't go to 6700, because you resolve the chain backwards.

In current, you can use anything that negates an effect's activation, not just counter traps.

5:26 why was this a rule in the first place? It makes no sense.
Plz explain Sakuretsu Armor
Effects that negate the activation can be activated in damage step, i think, like gravekeeper's watcher
This is incorrect. Gravekeeper's Watcher cannot be used in the damage step (in Goat Format).

I thought it was called the "Attack Declaration Window" and then ... new chain(s) after that. Substep 3 of the Battle Step.
I'm glad I got into Yu-Gi-Oh years ago. I guess I wouldn't be willing to learn all those things now

Yes, you can do this. Remember, a replay only occurs if the number of monsters on your side of the field (in your monster zone) changed.
