Pour une fois l'algorithme YT m'a donné un excellent conseil. J'ai beaucoup écouté Zelenka, mais ne connaissais pas cette messe. Luks et le Collegium 1704 sont devenus pour moi presque les seuls audibles dans Zelenka : admirables. Mais je conseille aussi leurs magnifiques Brandebourgeois. Leur excellence ne s'arrête pas au merveilleux Zelenka, le Bach de la Contre-Réforme.

Zelenka is one of the greatest of all composers.

I could listen to the Zelenka works all day
And some days I do.
They all deserve flowers. Luks is happy, the singers are smiling, the soloists have switched from "serious performing face" to musical joy. They are all so young -- Vaclav Luks, Vocale, and the Colligeum musicians. Thank you, AVRO for recording this!
Every concert by Collegium 1704 has been memorable ... indeed, standard-setting. And Zelenka is badly overlooked by the American classical music radio business.
I can't find the triple-thumbs up button. This is every bit as inspiring as Handel's Messiah, and so expertly, artistically and precisely performed. Bravissimi!

A sparkling and festive opening to this Habsburg Early Music Festival. From the Viennesè court composer
Fux we shall hear the dazzling Te Deum, written for the coronation of the Habsburg emperor Charles VI as
King of Bohemia. Fux is joined here by two of his star pupils. It is not known for what occasion Zeienka's
Missa DiviXaverii, a spectacular setting of the mass ordinary, was written. Here we see Zelenka experimenting
with the instrumentation of a remarkably large orchestra: the four trumpets add brilliance to the instrumental ensemble, in which traversos, oboes and bassoons regularly enter into a dialogue with the vocal quartet. Frantisek Tüma was another Fux disciple.Tuma's music, including the Stabat Mater, combines a skilful control of counterpoint and late-
Baroque harmonies with a keen feeling for melody.

My pleasure. The extra thing for me was this was the openingsconcert. But we saw many of the singers and musicians several times later in the week in different smaller ensembles like the soprano Hana Blaziková in 3 other concerts, Hana Fleková as gamba player performed with Petr Wagner and in Collegium Marianum, the oboeplayer played a mayor role in the smaller Collegium 1704 with Reichenauer, Zelenka, and Orschler, Tomas Kral in Cappella Mariana.The soprano Bárbora Sojkóva conducted the next day a beautiful late medieval program with "her" Turburtina Ensemble. Collegium 1704 gave a fantastic performance of San Giovanni Nepomuceno by Antonio Caldara on monday night with an astonishing trumpet solo by Hans-Martin Rus. Unfortunately I guess it was not recorded for radiobroadcasting or TH-cam.
The Festival was a big feast of top quality.

Václav Luks is not a dutch conductor.
Collegium 1704 is not a dutch orchestra.
They all are czech.
Only things dutch here are the Utrecht Festival and the public broadcasting AVRO.

It's wonderful that the Czech composer Jan Dismas Zelenka is coming into his own. What a simply delicious mass! I hesitate to elevate him to the celestial level of the great Johann Sebastian, but he gets pretty damn close.

Alla fine del secondo Kyrie Eleison (e quindi del secondo Agnus Dei), c'è però un passaggio che nella riproduzione virtuale è in tonalità minore (cosa insolita vista la presenza di trombe e timpani), mentre qui è in maggiore. Comunque sia, è una grande emozione risentire tutto eseguito e cantato nella realtà. Grazie.

I understand the flute sounds great in the Agnus Dei, but, Zelenka what was thinking about to use it instead of the wonderful oboe/oboe d'amore/chalumeaux? This gem deserves an oboe with its angelical sound and not the pastoral one...
