See him just go for the pick with the young boy without even hesitating gave me goose bumps, what a legend of the sport. He can only win more fans with that kind of healthy attitude to fan interaction!!
Every sport needs fans, and allowing the fans to be close only increases the popularity. They obviously don't see any issue with cycling fans following them as long as they stay out of the way and don't interrupt their training or bug them to death. What cycling enthusiast/fan wouldn't be thrilled to follow around a pro team for as long as they could hang? Keep it safe and don't interrupt their work, and there shouldn't be any issues. Quite the contrary, it would only make the athletes more enduring to the fans. Other sports do similar things that give fans an opportunity to interact with their pros (golf, billiards, etc.) that you would think would be a nuisance for the athletes (not calling pool players athletes, but you get the idea), but they go along with it and learn to enjoy and appreciate the fan interaction. BTW, Peter is a class guy and love how he took the time to get his pic taken with a young kid. There are many pro stars out there in a variety sports that are not so fan friendly.
I remember when you and I would do a 2 man time trial from Olympic Cycles to Marion Rd. We would be doing 56km/h. I know because I always had my Avocet 20 on plus we were going as fast and sometimes passing the cars along there. No aero bikes or wheels either ;-)
It's nice that they let the fans ride along with them but in reality they really have no choice. Those are public roads and as long as there is no interfering, everyone has a right to the road. Of course if they wanted to they could just drop everyone at anytime. If they really wanted to ride without fans though all they would have to do is start from a random location. If you aren't on the wheel right away you couldn't catch them.
Just a bit weird. Following the guys around is I think called "stalking". Then standing outside the toilet, what can I say but that is weird to a new level.
Scott Grayson youre just another sheep thinking and saying what todays world conditions you to think and say so you can fit in. Youre part of that socially inadequate " so awkward" "so weird" demographic.
Oh man, what a sad comment to make. I sincerely hope you are not a cyclist. Cycling is probably the only sport in the world that allows for riders to tag along with the pros. In addition to the comments made below, I cannot help but think the pros take a certain amount of reassurance knowing there are a ton of riders behind them in the case some crazy decides to drive into the group. It has happened before.
This is a team sport,so cyclists are used to train in a bunch or small group,i remember my first Club-at least the winter training all ages started together and the best riders stay in front and ride the biggest mileage! What you say is that when you have a pro license you’re only allowed to go with pros?! I believe that would be weird?! I think if the pros wanna be among themselves, they know how to do-just full gas
So when they stopped at the toilets did you ask Peter if you can 'shake the drips off'?? Embarrassing...leave the guys alone and let them train in peace.
I think its not inappropriate...I think they would tell, if they need some private training. Peter is from my city. He went to school here behinnd the corner. I didnt meet him. but I know a bit mentality. He is from small city.
Thanks, if I was nearby Sagan and team going training I would be there, just to see one of the greats, cycle along as far as I could hack it. Normal for people born before the mass madness of Political Correctness, they have created their own hell.
the way people are chasing these cycling teams on roads is getting dangerous sad fact is this may close public access akin to professional soccer teams closed training sessions in Europe teams may just have moments when they do group fans rides then rest closed off youtubers to thank
+Pierre Foucart Last year I chatted to 2 riders on the Bora team because there weren't many locals riding with them but this year there were between 20 to 30 hangers-on

if you are going to get dropped, why not by some pros? they appreciate their fans. sagan posing for pics. sign of a true sportsman.
Náš Peter Sagan je najlepší jazdec aký kedy existoval :)
It's like a band, all the works were done together, but singer gets the limelight. 😆
Love Sagan for being a good sport.

I like how as soon as Bora comes out you immediately switch teams, I'd have done the same!
hey mate they make a wind cover to help with the noise

@Alacycle it's a one chance in a life time for some to ride with real pro the camera guy NOT causing no problem and you have a problem.
You notice where the guys at in the back not up front

The riders are used to it and appreciate the fans. Peter Sagan most of all, he is the rock star of cycling.

what? you live in Adelaide!😄
Yes....good riding weather here. Where do you live?
Nice pace Steve
+glenny oc Speed?...averaged 35km/hr
Yeah nice.
Looked a little bit hectic at times. Stay safe.
when is the best time (after or before) a stage to catch them and ride?
They don't go out for rides on the day of stages. It's their off days, or the days leading up to the start of the race.
Are you still in Adelaide?
Sorry Shem,no,back in Victor Harbor. I will be at the final stage in Willunga tho.
All those bikes leaning against that wall look expensive. Then you think about a Motogp bike...
Devia e arrumar esta falha na boca faltando dente , depois sai nas filmagem.
So when they stopped at the toilets did you ask Peter if you can 'shake the drips off'?? Embarrassing...leave the guys alone and let them train in peace.
+Glenn Castell Haha. Yes they had a tail of between 20 to 30 cyclists following them.
What's up with da Toilet's.I thought Diaper's were the Bum's Rush Nowaday's???
I think its not inappropriate...I think they would tell, if they need some private training. Peter is from my city. He went to school here behinnd the corner. I didnt meet him. but I know a bit mentality. He is from small city.

+k c State sprinter but 35 years ago
Question is why do they ride on those busy roads?
Velo1010 most of Adelaide suburban.roads get very.busy as we are very.much a car city, spread out etc.

6:55 They need kickstands.
the way people are chasing these cycling teams on roads is getting dangerous
sad fact is this may close public access akin to professional soccer teams closed training sessions in Europe
teams may just have moments when they do group fans rides then rest closed off
