    I did something similar a couple months ago, getting a brand new Holley is an experience! :) It's just a shame at the end it gets covered up by a big air filter because they look amazing.

    One necessary step missing. Put tape over the open intake thereby preventing the unfortunate additional step of retrieving a lost carburetor nut.

    Yep I cut over 13" off throttle cable of cobra I just got as the car was only getting half throttle with the Cleveland in it! Big difference when the secondary actually work

    Great video, very helpful.
    I’m thinking of changing the carb on my Cleveland 4v 4 barrel. It has a Holley intake manifold, any suggestions what will work for this motor.
    It’s in a 77 f250, so there should be plenty of space under the hood.
    Part number for the carb would be helpful.
    Thanks

    Good job guys, the only thing i would do different is always run the throttle return spring opposite the direction that linkage pulls or else throttle shaft wears out too quickly 👍

    Have you guys ever tried the Holley Sniper EFI? What do you think of them?

    • @thebrisbanebrothers8332
      @thebrisbanebrothers8332  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I have helped fit a couple they are great on the two I was involved in. A mate of mine with a real serious 393 is having issues with his continually self learning but you can turn that off.

    I was thinking of making a return system so that it constantly pumps fuel that's not being sucked in by my Edlebrock Carby, rather than going with a dead head system, I read somewhere this can really help with preventing vapor lock/fuel boiling, any thoughts on return vs dead head?

    • @vigilante351
      @vigilante351 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I run electric pump into a Holley Reg that has a return on it, then into the carb/throttle body. Best of both worlds.

    • @thebrisbanebrothers8332
      @thebrisbanebrothers8332  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The return system will always perform better then a dead head fuel system will. The edelbrock carbs like less fuel pressure then a Holley too. I usually go to a high performance needle and seat for an electric pump carby so if you go over the recommended 5.5 psi it doesn’t flood the seats.

    Our those the closed chambered 2v heads and how much better performance our they then the open chambered heads looking to do a build myself

    A Phenolic spacer is good, since your using a dual plane intake you should use a spacer that is the same or with 4 holes, an open spacer has too much turbulence beneath the carb between the manifold instead of directing the fuel/air where it needs to go. BTW, stop using those terrible K&N oil filters!
    If your swapping a carb back and forth testing, you can coat your gaskets with chap stick and get an extra use out of them as well...

  • @ozjado
    @ozjado 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great stuff guys love your work so sorry if I missed an explanation in the video but how does it effect the dual plane mani whith the single plane style spacer and gaskets? Is there a dual plane bakerlite spacer available?

    • @thebrisbanebrothers8332
      @thebrisbanebrothers8332  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve found open spacers work the best on dual plane applications, and for single plane usually you want to run a CNC 4 hole to open spacer, and turn it upside down.

    carb looks good EXCEPT for proper atomization esp for 351c is a ANNULAR discharge nozzle carb ..i would not buy that carb if it did not have those annilar nozzles..i do like the replaceable air bleeds, bonus.! but is missing the most important part . the nozzles.
    I own 3 stangs, all 3 have the annular holleys, diff part #'s .. need the umbers? contact me Auzie dudes..

    Hey are the RPC Phenolic Plastic, Carb Spacer, Open, Center, OK to use??

    • @thebrisbanebrothers8332
      @thebrisbanebrothers8332  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They have a habit of cracking after getting hot, but they work for a short while

      OK I am now confused about these carb spacers!
      I have an edelbrock inlet like yours with a mild cam so which is the best to squeeze out a few for horses open centre, 4 hole centre, super sucker combo, 1/2” 1” or 2”???? Help!!
